Meanwhile, a black car screeched to a halt in front of Colby’s mansion.

Jessica and Matthew alighted the car and walked inside the house, where they met Arianna at the dining table, with some maids arranging food at the dining table. There was lots of food on the table.

She wondered if there was any occasion that she didn’t know about.

“Mom” Jessica called and Arianna turned to her and smiled.

“Oh honey, you are back,” she said as she moved towards Jessica and hugged her. Then kissed her on her cheeks.

“Hi” Matthew muttered and Arianna smiled at him.

“What’s the occasion? Why is there so much food on the table?” Jessica asked.

“Honey, it’s been a long time since we had dinner together as a family. I just wanted us to have dinner together” Arianna said and Jessica hummed.

“You should go change your dress and come eat,” Arianna said and Jessica nodded before going upstairs with Matthew to change their clothes.

After Jessica left, Arianna went upstairs to Hannah’s room. She planted a soft knock on the door and the door opened revealing Hannah.

“Mom” Hannah called as she opened the door fully and hugged Arianna. She hadn’t seen her today, she was wondering where she had gone.

“You weren’t home this morning, I was wondering where you had gone,” Hannah said as she pulled away from the hug.

” I had some business I needed to attend to,” Arianna said and Hannah nodded.

Just then Arianna saw Hannah’s hand was bandaged.

“Honey, did you cut your finger?” Arianna asked

“It’s just a small cut, it doesn’t hurt,” Hannah said and Arianna hummed softly.

“Honey, I prepared dinner for the whole family. You should come downstairs and eat” Arianna said and a wide smile appeared on Hannah’s face.

She always loved it when Arianna cooked. It always tastes good and it’s been a long time since she cooked, and today she had finally cooked some food, and she was surely gonna enjoy the food.

“Sure, I’ll go get the kids,” Hannah said in response.

“I’ll go inform Brandon,” Arianna said and with that, she walked away.

Hannah walked out of her room and went to the kid’s room, where she met them asleep.

She had wanted to wake them up but then she had a change of heart she didn’t want to disturb them as she felt they were probably stressed from school.

She smiled as she stared at them. These children were her happiness and the only reason she never gave up, she would do anything to make them happy, she thought as she moved towards them and covered them properly with the duvet.

She gave them one last glance before walking out of the room, closing the door behind her.

She went downstairs and there she met Jessica, Matthew and Arianna already sitted.

“Hey,” she muttered to both Jessica and Matthew before sitting on the chair. Matthew smiled at her.

“Hey,” Jessica muttered in response.

“Where are the kids?” Arianna asked.

“They are asleep,” she said in response and Arianna nodded.

Just then Brandon is seen climbing down the stairs. He walked towards them and sat on the chair beside Hannah.

Hannah stared at him and quickly looked away.

“Where’s Lucas?” Arianna asked

“Probably still at the bar downtown sticking his nose in things that ain’t his concern,” Jessica said as she drank from the glass of juice.

Arianna raised her eyebrows confused.

“Seriously, that’s no way to speak of your brother,” Lucas who had just entered the house said and everyone turned toward him.

“Whatever!” Jessica muttered.

“Lucas, you just came in time. Join us” Arianna said and Lucas stared at her and looked away.

He wasn’t in the mood to join them but the moment his eyes and Hannah’s came in contact he changed his mind.

He walked towards Hannah and smiled at her before sitting on the empty chair that was beside her.

Hannah who was now in the middle of both Lucas and Brandon glanced at both brothers and to Arianna who was staring at her. Everyone was silent but then Arianna broke the silence.

“Lucas, I heard you’ve resumed work at the company,” she asked as they all ate.

“Yeah, I have. Why do you ask? It’s not like you care” Lucas said rudely and Arianna sighed and managed to smile.

Hannah stared at Arianna and noticed she was hurt by what Lucas had said, she frowned.

“That’s no way to talk to her,” Hannah said as she glared at Lucas with anger in her eyes.

“Hannah, it’s fine,” Arianna said.

Lucas stared at her, sighed and then smiled.

“I didn’t mean to say that, rudely, I’m sorry,” he said to Arianna and then turned to Hannah who looked away from him and continued eating her food.

There was an intense silence but then Lucas broke the silence.

“Matthew, do you mind telling us about your family? Since you are now a part of this family, we should know more about you” Lucas said and Jessica sighed.

“Do not start, Lucas” Jessica said

“It’s fine. There’s nothing to know about me, Lucas. I’m just a boy who lost his parents at a young age and then lived with his aunt” Matthew said with a smile on his face and Lucas hummed. He didn’t know why he felt Matthew was hiding something.

“Oh my goodness! I’m sorry about your parents” Arianna said and Matthew smiled.

“That’s a long time ago,” Matthew said in response.

“And where does your aunt live? I would love to meet her in person or maybe there is no aunt” Lucas said and Matthew bit his lips and forced himself to smile.

“Stop Lucas, do not start or ruin my evening,” Jessica said angrily.

“Okay, I don’t want to ruin this dinner, let’s all eat and enjoy,” Lucas said as he smirked, he took an apple from the table, and took a bite while staring at Matthew just then he caught a glimpse of Brandon staring at him.

He chuckled.

“Brandon, the octuplets aren’t here? Woah, I love those kids. They are a copy of you.

If Mellisa was here, she would be so happy she had siblings.

Oh, I forgot, if Mellisa was still alive maybe Lisa would still be here.

What am I saying? Mellisa is dead” Lucas said and Brandon frowned at him.

“Enough Lucas! You know what, I’m out of here” Jessica said as she stood up and walked away.

Matthew stood up and went after her.

“I will be in my room,” Arianna said as she stood up and went upstairs to her room.

Brandon on the other hand glared at Lucas and didn’t say a word, with that he walked away.

Hannah and Lucas were the only ones left at the dining table, but then she stood up to leave when Lucas stood up and stood in front of her.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to ruin the dinner”
