Chapter 214

The moment Jessica got outside the bar, she met Matthew looking nervous pacing to and fro.

“Are you okay? What’s wrong?” Jessica asked, jolting Matthew out of his thoughts.

” I’m fine. I’m just tired. Can we go home now?” he asked and Jessica nodded.

“I will go get the car,” he said and left in a rush to get the car so they could leave.

Jessica on the other hand wondered what was wrong with him.

Maybe he’s stressed from going to see his aunt yesterday, she thought and shook the thoughts off her head.

Meanwhile, Lucas is seen inside the bar staring around, trying to find the lady who had called Matthew Alexander, he just needed to ask her a few questions but sadly she was nowhere to be found.

He sighed and then a waiter then brought a drink to his table.

“I didn’t ask for a drink,” he said to the waiter.

“That lady over there asked me to bring it for you,” the waiter said and Lucas turned in the direction the waiter pointed.

He saw a lady with blonde hair, putting on shades. He hummed as he stared at her, she looked familiar, he thought and just then the lady stood up and walked towards him.

“Hey Lucas,” she said as she sat close to him.

“Thank you for the drink,” he said and she smiled and removed her glasses.

The moment she removed her glass, Lucas paused at once.

“You!!!” he said as the look on his face changed at once.

“Remember me now?” she said and he scoffed. He didn’t expect to see her again.

“Jules” he muttered and she laughed.

“Long time no see Lucas, I see you are back from the dead” Jules said and Lucas chuckled.

Jules was Lisa’s best friend and when Lisa and Lucas were dating then, they all hung out all the time.

“I wasn’t expecting to see you since your friend is nowhere to be found,” he said and Jules smiled.

“She left town. You can’t find her, Lucas. I’m gonna give you a piece of advice, You should stop looking for her and move on” Jules said and Lucas frowned.

“And why would I listen to you?” Lucas asked.

“Because I was her close friend. Stop looking for Lisa, because the truth is she never really loved you, she only loved your brother, Brandon” Jules said and the look on Lucas’s face changed at once.

“Did Brandon send you?” He asked as he held her wrist at once.

“Brandon didn’t send me, I haven’t seen him in ages. Let go of my hands you are hurting me” she said between gritted teeth.

“I know he did send you, and I know what you are saying is a lie. Lisa loved me, my brother only brainwashed her.

Tell Brandon to try harder because I won’t give up on finding her” Lucas said and let go of her hands immediately.

He gave her one last stare before standing up and walking out of the bar.

Jules sighed softly as she massaged her wrist.

He’s so strong and arrogant, I wonder why he thinks Brandon sent me, she thought and then stood up and went after him.

“Lucas ” she called and Lucas who was about to enter his car turned to her.

“What do you want, Jules?” She asked

“I didn’t mean to get you angry, I was only….”

“You know where Lisa is right?” He asked to cut off her speech.

She paused and sighed as she moved towards him.

“I don’t know where she is but…” her speech was suddenly interrupted when Lucas held her by her neck and pinned her to his car.

“Tell me where she is, Jules, or so help me god I will kill you” Lucas said as his hands tightened around her neck making it difficult for her to breathe.

“Stop!! You are hurting me!” She managed to say as she was choking.

He sighed and let go of her neck immediately.

“Stay away from me” he muttered as he pushed her away and with that, he entered his car and zoomed off.

Jules kept on coughing. damn, she muttered as she managed to stand up from the ground and quickly composed herself.

She turned to the people staring at her and smiled. She straightened her dress before walking away.

Lucas, who was on his way home, realized his phone wasn’t with him. Shit!! I must have left it at the bar, he thought and then quickly turned around and drove back to the bar.

His car came to a stop in front of the bar and he alighted the car and walked straight inside the bar.

He walked towards the table he had sat on and luckily his phone was there. He gave out a breath of relief and picked up the phone from the table.

Just as he wasn’t about to leave, he mistakenly collided with someone.

“Watch where you are going, man!” He said as he raised his head and saw Jeff Colby and a male figure standing beside him. It was Dave, his close friend.

“You watch where you are going, mate,” Jeff said as he hit him on the chest.

Lucas frowned the moment Jeff pushed him and suddenly he punched him in his face.

Jeff groaned and had wanted to hit him when Dave held him, stopping him from fighting.

“Watch where you are going next time,” Lucas said as he gave Jeff one last glance before walking out of the bar.

Jeff on the other hand stared at him angrily.

“Why did you stop me?” He asked Dave as he pulled his hands away from him and sat on the chair.

“We are in public and People are watching, you don’t want your name flying on the news again that you got into a fight. Enough has happened already, you have to be careful” Dave said and Jeff sighed.
