Chapter 1964
Chapter 1964
Hertha quickly slung her bag over her shoulder, shoved her phone inside, and prepared to head out to Royal Estates to find Thalassa! She wanted to see if Thalassa had gone through with the marriage. If so, she was dying to get a glimpse of what their marriage certificate looked like.
Hertha, full of energy, had just left her office when she spotted a hunk walking towards her from across the street! The guy was dressed in a beige suit, his face so enchantingly beautiful it could put women to shame. Especially those mesmerizing, fox-like eyes of his-they seemed to captivate souls with just one glance. With his hands casually tucked in his pockets, he had that bad-boy charm about him. Smiling, he approached Hertha, "Hey Hertha, fancy bumping into you here. Just got off work? How about we grab some dinner together?"NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
Hearing the man's cheeky voice snapped Hertha back to reality, and she rolled her eyes at him, "Move it, I don't have time for your games." She brushed past him and kept walking.
Alaric followed closely behind: "Where are you headed? Let me give you a lift."
"I've got my own ride, thanks." Hertha didn't even turn back to reply.
"Come on, driving alone is so boring. It's the conversations that make the journey. That's what life's all about," Alaric kept up with Hertha, smiling, refusing to leave her side.
Stopping in her tracks, Hertha turned around to confront him, "You think you know what life is about? The party scene is always waiting for you with open arms. That's where you belong, not in the doorway of a mundane life!" With that, Hertha turned and walked away.
"Hey, Hertha, wait up!" Alaric hurried to keep pace with her. "I've changed, really. I want to be part of that mundane life now," Alaric pleaded, trying to show his determination.
Back when Hertha was chasing after him, he used to give her the cold shoulder, always mocking her. But now, the tables had turned. He was the one following Hertha around, and she couldn't care less. Alaric never believed in karma, but now he was a firm believer.

Hertha glared at Alaric, "Didn't I tell you to leave? How thick is your skin?"
"Got to have a thick skin to survive the party scene, right?" Alaric kept his signature smirk.
Hertha exhaled a frustrated breath, at a loss for words with Alaric.
"Fine, where to?" She didn't want to waste her breath arguing and decided to just drive him.
"Wherever you're going, I'm going," Alaric replied, buckling up.
Hertha realized he was dead set on sticking around.
"I'm headed to Royal Estates. You in?" Hertha said, obviously annoyed.
"Perfect. I was planning to visit my buddy Lysander there anyway," Alaric replied, giving Hertha a grin. His smile was so fake and sø irritating.
If it weren't for the fact that she was sitting in the car, buckled in, she would have punched him. Punched that ridiculously handsome face into oblivion, made him unrecognizable even to his own parents! How did she ever fall for that face, foolishly handing over her heart, completely ensnared?
