Chapter 427
Chapter 427
“So, my buddy here, he’s loaded. Dude won’t let Allison lift a finger, I promise.”
Grace was kind of sickly, and she’d been on the hunt for a boyfriend for Allison for a while now. She just wanted to know that Allison would be set for life. If Allison had a good guy, she could rest easy. But Allison was not about that blind date life.
If the guy’s family was loaded and he treated Allison right, Grace would be over the moon.
Penelope went on, “Grace, I’m just trying to help. You ain’t gonna turn me down, are ya?”
Grace looked at Penelope, lying on the hospital bed, looking all pale and weak. Penelope had just come back from a bad accident, and Grace couldn’t say no to her. “Alright, I’ll tell Allison when I get home.”
Penelope cracked a smile. “Grace, I get kinda bored here. If you have time, come visit me more often. Lately, I’ve been having a hard time sleeping at night. I dream about you a lot. I remember how you used to take care of me when I was a kid.”
Hearing this, Grace smiled too. “Well, I’ve been wanting to come see you. You have no idea how much I worried when you were unconscious.”
Grace wished she could visit Penelope in the hospital every day. After leaving the hospital, she hit up the supermarket and picked up some fresh veggies, planning to make a nice soup for Penelope tomorrow.
Back at the hospital, after Grace left, Penelope let out a little smile. She grabbed her phone and dialed a number.
Tristan was from a wealthy family, but he was a total playboy. The dude got busted for soliciting a few days ago. His dad, Bill, had to pull some strings to bail him out. Two weeks after Tristan got out of jail,
he’d got a new girlfriend.
Tristan’s mom was hoping he’d settle down with a nice girl. That way, he’d stop messing around with other women and start leading a normal life.
Tristan’s mom had played cards with Leah a few times and had been to the Flanagan family’s place a couple of times.
Tristan’s family, although nouveau riche, had a strong local influence. Not many families would pick a fight with them. The Flanagan family didn’t have any business dealings with Tristan’s family in the past, but now that they’d teamed up with the Lindberg family and expanded their business, so they’d started working with Tristan’s family.
“Hey, Aliza, it’s Penelope.”
“Penelope, what’s up?”
“Aliza, is Tristan seeing anyone?”
The mere mention of this made Tristan’s mother sigh heavily. “No, don’t even bring him up. Gives me a headache. I heard you woke up, and I was planning to see you. How’ve you been? Any discomfort? So glad you’re okay. Thank heavens.”
Penelope didn’t call to chit-chat. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Aliza, I have a friend. You know her, Allison. We grew up together.”
Aliza didn’t remember much about Allison. “Uh… What’s up with her?”
“Aliza, is Tristan still single? I have a friend who’s really great. I was thinking of introducing her to Tristan. Her mom’s our housekeeper, and we know everything about her. Let me know when Tristan’s
free.”
Aliza nodded. “Alright, I’ll give you Tristan’s contact info. Tell Allison that I don’t care about her family’s financial status. As long as she’s a kind girl from a good family, that’s all that matters. You guys grew up together, so I trust your judgment.”
After hanging up, Penelope set her phone aside and turned on the TV. Watching her favorite show, she suddenly noticed her leg wasn’t hurting as much. Tristan had a crush on her back in high school. Even though she wasn’t into guys like Tristan, she never outright rejected him because of his family’s wealth. Plus, Tristan had gifted her a few designer bags, so they had a bit of a fling.
Allison and Penelope looked a lot alike, so Allison was totally Tristan’s type.
Tristan was the kind of guy who’d relentlessly pursue someone he was into. If he fell for Allison, she wouldn’t stand a chance of getting away
