Chapter 104
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t be snapping both your heads off right now! Talk now!” Rygan roars out as he pushes his claws deeper into Kaide’s neck, cutting off the airflow from his throat as the beta sputters out blood.
And with each given since Rygan landed punch after punch to Kaide’s face, he didn’t care until his hands bled, knowing full well they both betrayed him and the woman he loved with his heart.
The beta groaned out as he began to lose vision from Rygan’s held, and at any moment he was sure to lose consciousness, but Kaide was as loyal as a dog to Alvira; he wouldn’t spill her secret, and their secret about Alana would lead them both to their deaths the moment they were found out.
“Rygan!” Taz called from the door; his voice echoed, making the alpha pause as Taz marched in fast strides to where the three of them were. With the virus still pleading maniacally with a hand wrapped around Rygan’s legs
He watched Alvira’s horror–filled and tear–stricken face and Kaide’s, who was seconds away from losing consciousness
“I will tell you everything!” Alvira begs, “Please, please don’t kill him; don’t kill Rygan; he’s been your friend for so many years; he is family!” She pleads. And this time his hands loosen on Kaide’s neck as Rygan lets out a cursed growl before throwing the beta to the side.
Alvira screams in trembling horror, seeing his body slammed against the opposite wall, and Kaide makes no attempts to get up. Rygan then turns to Alvira.
Her trembling hands cover her mouth, stopping the scream from watching the blood from Kaide flow. This could be her in a few seconds if she doesn’t look for a way out; Elise has trapped them..
Taz runs to Kaide, seeing his friend’s head soiled with blood. His anger and confusion know no bounds as he turns to his alpha and best friend and asks, “What is the meaning of this, Rygan? What is going on?” He asks.
But Rygan is focused on Alvira; he bends down to meet her eyes, his gaze cold with the promise of death if she refuses to speak. He reaches a hand up to grab her chin and pin her gaze up to meet him.
“Talk,” he starts, and Alvira swallows a gulp.
“We made a mistake; something happened, and she wasn’t supposed to find out, but Elise got angry and attacked; she attacked us, I swear, and she killed your-
“There was no baby, and you know it,” he says firmly. His dark voice spooks Alvira so much that she almost jumps from her skin.
“I’m sorry, but that was the only way that I could make you stay. I lied, yes, and begged Kaide not to tell you; that is all! And Elise is lying; she found Kaide trying to comfort me and made things up to lie to you, so please, Rygan, don’t believe her. We are a happy family now; we have a daughter, Elise, and a family of her own too; let’s not ruin this.” She cries out.
From the silence, she thinks it is finally over, that maybe she’d finally persuaded Rygan to forget it all, but not until she hears those words.
“And yet you took her out to those woods.” He snarls, and Alvira freezes in shock. Taz, on the other hand, lets out a whisper in horror and confusion at Rygan’s words as he turns to Kaide. He had pulled himself up.
“Rygan-”
“One more word from you, bastard… And I will end your sickening useless life here,” he snarls at Kaide with a dark trail in lus tone.
She knows one word would cost her right now, but she needs to save herself right now. How? How is she going to do it? No, Rygan, no, remember the letter? She wrote her plans to leave you. She begged me; she begged me to give me that option to leave you, and I did.”
She can barely continue her words as his hands roughly latch at her throat, and her eyes blow wide with fear as she grips Rygan’s wrist.
Tears stream down her face as she pleads, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I just wanted her gone. I loved you so much, just like Alana did.” She can see her eyes gleaming with unshed tears from the betrayal, the confusion, his stupidity, and his in his friends that ruined Elise’s life.
Ruined the life of the woman he loves and hates and despises him and his pack because of it, because of his mistakes, not his sin. He sinned against Elise.
Taz is still too stunned to speak as he watches Kaide. It feels like he is looking at a stranger. He recalls how his friend Vienna still wakes up in a cold sweat about her friend’s sudden demise, and Kaide acts like nothing happened. How could they do this to Elise? And what wicked secrets are they hiding that could make them think of doing those atrocities instead?
“And what is this secret you both are keeping?” Taz says in a pained whisper that he sees panic cross Kaide’s face, but he withholds his tongue and instead faces their alpha. They would be dead on the spot if they talked about Alana.
“Rygan. Rygan please” Kaide pleads as he stands up, pleading for Alvira’s life. He looks at his beta, who is his lifelong friend, and back to Alvira, who is supposed to be his Luna.
With a roar, he lets her go, standing up in fury as he paces to the large table. He slams his hands on the table, splitting it in the middle from his raw, feral strength.
He should kill them, kill them with no reason or mercy, and be done with it, but he knows he wants them to suffer more.
“Kaide and Alvira Beddor, for the sins you have committed against an innocent wolf and the lives you have ruined, I sentence you to imprisonment,” he says.
“You both will have a trial when we get back to the pack tomorrow, and when found guilty of all the charges, you will be banished as rogues or killed,” he says.
Alvira shakes her head in disbelief. “No, no, Rygan, you don’t mean that. I’m sorry.” Alvira pleads, and Kaide, on the other hand, in silence with shock, bows down and takes his orders with no hesitation. A call far better than death if they learn the truth about Kayla, which Rygan already so much suspects.
Alvira crawls to Kaide, shaking him in fear to snap out of it and beg for their lives. “Kaide, what are you doing? Why are you staying silent? We can’t leave the pack!” She screams, and Kaide remains stoic.
Holding his breath as Rygan passes them without a second glance, Taz follows his alpha with no words spoken to the two
traitors.
Alvira cries out in regret. “We are ruined! We will be tortured for the truth, and then we are going to be banished the moment we step foot on the pack.” She says as she beats her hands on Kaide’s chest.
Kaide stops Alvira’s hands from hitting his chest as he grips his wrist. Even in his bloody stare, his eyes are clear; he needs to think; they need a way to survive. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
“Stop your tears, Alvira; if we go back, our death sentence will already be signed, and worse, if Elise decides to tell more about Alana, can’t you see she is playing us, baiting us like rabbits to a trap?” he says to her.
It is like something snaps in Alvira from those words–her greediness to survive. “That bitch Elise, I am going to make her pay for what she did to me,” she mutters bitterly to Kaide.
“I am going to make her regret crossing me, and I will not go down alone,” she mutters, cleaning her tears.
Kaide has said no words, but he has a plan that will get them out of this and shake the moon city before noon tomorrow; he isn’t going to die.
They both aren’t, and he’ll make sure everything goes according to plan. He’ll make sure of it.
