Chapter 205 Pass out
After Jim was dragged away, it was very quiet in the room. Blanca and Matthew looked at each other. They got to awkward silence for a moment, and then Blanca first spoke. “Let’s talk about that,” she said calmly. What just happened here was partially her fault. She had known Jim had a thing for her, but she let her guard down in front of him.
Matthew raised an eyebrow, looking mildly surprised. He sat down on a couch and cross his legs. “Go ahead.” said Matthew, looking extremely grave.
Looking at Matthew, Blanca seemed almost nervous for she knew he was good at negotiation. She cleared her throat and summoned the courage to say, “I think you haven’t forgot our relationship, Matthew! I help you keep away from blind dates and you help me find my family. This is our relationship.”
“Yes. And then?” Matthew said, impassive.
“So, as agreed, there is something you need to do. Louise asked Clark to take away my pendant. You need to get it back.” Blanca got angry when she came to think about it. The pendant was the only evidence she had for her family, but just when she found maybe Mr. Butler know something about her pendant, Louise took it away. That girl destroyed everything.
“Bring it back?” Matthew asked.

Actually, Matthew had already taken action to get the pendant back, but he didn’t he tell her the truth, for the cold expression on Blanca’s face made him uncomfortable. “Why would I do you any favors, Blanca? You really think you are somebody, huh?”
Blanca’s face changed a little. She was very upset by his words, but she struggled to hide her emotions. “I know I am nothing. But we have made a deal, and you must fulfill your duty. The pendant is a key piece of evidence.”
Blanca sat up straight and fixed her eye on Matthew, with something unyielding in her face. Matthew was very quiet for a minute and then he nodded. “OK! I promise. I’m going to take care of this and get back your pendant, but I’ll do it on one condition.”
“Go on.”
Matthew leaned forward and stared at Blanca. “I want you to stay away from Peter,” he said slowly and clearly.
Blanca froze for an instant. Then she felt thirsty. She got out of bed and walked to a table. After drinking a lot of water, she turned to Matthew and said, “That’s too much to ask, Matthew! I can’t promise you.”
“Always remember who you are, Blanca! You are my wife! You are Mrs. Grant! If you become Peter’s assistant, you will embarrass the whole Grant family!” Matthew stood up, looking very grumpy. He walked over to Blanca and continued, “I’m aware of your plans, Blanca! You’re trying to seduce Peter and then look for an opportunity to know Mr. Butler. Am I right?” Just thinking about her adoring eyes when she looked at Peter, Matthew got jealous. He didn’t want to lose Blanca, and he had to stop them getting closer.
“You’re taking this wrong, Matthew! We’re just friends.”
“Prove it, then, stay away from him!”
Blanca opened her mouth, but closed it without speaking. She felt sick, just like her tequila churning in her belly. When Matthew came closer to her, she could bear it no longer. She threw up and vomited all over Matthew.
Matthew, standing there, covered in vomit, was livid with rage, but before he blew up at Blanca, she passed out.
