He climbed out of the car and then walked inside the sitting room when he suddenly heard a scream.

It was a child’s voice.

“Rhoda,” he called and there was no answer. He decided to go check Rhoda’s room upstairs when he suddenly saw her coming out of a room and then she locked the door.

When Rhoda saw Liam, at first she paused because she was frightened. She quickly maintained an innocent look.

“I thought you had left, what are you still doing here?” she asked as she walked past Liam to her room.

“I had forgotten some of the files, and I heard a scream. What’s in that room or rather who’s in that room?” Liam asked but Rhoda didn’t say a word.

“Rhoda, that sounds like a child’s voice, who the hell is in that room, did you kidnap….” Liam paused and Rhoda turned to him.

“Jesus Christ, Rhoda, did you kidnap Hannah’s son? ” You were the one all this time,” Liam said with shock in his eyes. He just couldn’t believe it.

“I didn’t mean to hurt the child, I only hit him a bit in the head and he screamed and lost consciousness, the child is just too stubborn,” Rhoda said

“How could you do such a thing? Is that how much you hate Hannah that you want to punish her kids for what happened?” Liam said and Rhoda rolled her eyes at him. She doesn’t even feel guilty or remorse about what happened, Liam thought angrily.

“Let that child go and i’ll tell them I found him on the street all alone,” Liam said and Rhoda laughed.

“Same way you lied to Brandon I was the one he raped years ago, I would advise you leave and pretend you didn’t see or hear anything,” Rhoda said and Liam stared at her angrily.

“I’m going to tell Brandon the truth and what happened now,” Liam said and was about to walk out of the room when suddenly she heard the sound of a gun being cracked.

He paused at once and then turned only to see Rhoda standing pointing a gun at his forehead.

“Where the hell did you get a gun and what do you think you are doing?” Liam asked as he swallowed hard. He raised his hands as a sign of surrender.

“I won’t have you ruin my plans, you are better off dead than telling Brandon anything, ” Rhoda said

“He would never know, besides no one knew you were coming here,” Rhoda said and put the gun straight on his forehead, the gun was now touching his forehead.

“Okay fine, you don’t have to pull the trigger, I promise to leave and not say a word to Brandon” Liam said and Rhoda scoffed

“And you think I would believe you?” Rhoda said and laughed. Just then in a swift movement, Liam moved to her side and held the gun, thereby dragging the gun with her while they shot the ceiling and then the lamps in the room.

They kept dragging the gun and finally, the gun was now with Liam. He then pointed the gun at Rhoda.

Rhoda laughed and stared at Liam.

“You think I would let you leave here with that child? I won’t let you leave here and tell Brandon anything. I won’t let you ruin my plans and you are so stupid to think I have just one gun” Rhoda said and moved to her wardrobe to bring out another gun.

Liam thought she was joking, she truly has another gun. He didn’t want to pull the trigger but now he has no option but to save his life.

Just as Rhoda was about to shoot him, he pulled the trigger and shot him in his hands and the gun fell on the ground.

Rhoda groaned and made to pick up the gun again when Liam shot her twice in her stomach. She fell to the ground with blood gushing out of her mouth. Her vision was already becoming dark. She closed her eyes as she breathed her last breath.

Liam began shivering in fear as he saw her close her eyes. He felt so scared, no one would believe it was self-defense, they would think he killed her on purpose.

He didn’t want to go to prison, he needed to figure out a way to make sure no one finds out he killed her.

He then moved towards Rhoda, searched her clothes and brought out her phone, and texted Hannah.

“If you want to see your son and save him, you must come alone to this address, if you do come with anyone, you would find your son dead” he sent the message, and then he cleaned the phone with his shirt and placed it on Rhoda’s hands.

He took the keys to the room Jayden was in and walked out of the room. He opened the door and met Jayden unconscious on the ground.

He cleaned the gun and then placed it in the child’s hands. He stared at Jayden for some seconds before walking out of the room, to the living room. He took all the files and made sure he cleared everything that would make anyone think he was at Rhoda’s house today.

He walked out of the house, hopped inside his car, ignited the engine, and zoomed off at once.

He was sure Hannah would go there alone and then she would be blamed for Rhoda’s death. Everyone including Brandon would believe because of how much Hannah hated Rhoda.

His car came to a stop in front of the company and he alighted the car. He walked inside the company looking so nervous.

He then saw Brandon’s secretary.

“Hello sir Liam, the board members are waiting for you,” The secretary said and he nodded as they both walked inside the elevator.

Liam tried pressing the button to the seventh floor but his hands were shivering.

“Are you okay sir?” the secretary asked and Liam smiled at him.

He managed to press the elevator button and walked and the door closed.

While in the elevator, the secretary kept staring at him because his hands were shivering, and he wondered what was wrong with him.

The Elevator came to a stop on the seventh floor and they both came out.

“Bring the other files from my office, I’ll be in the boardroom,” Liam said and the secretary nodded in response.
