A set up
Hannah had woken up in the middle of the night as she couldn’t sleep. She kept on thinking about her son and at that moment nothing else mattered to her than her son being found.
“What if he’s hurt and he’s hungry too? I can’t imagine him getting hurt and what if he’s dead? No, it can’t be” she kept on thinking about it.
She had walked out of her room and had wanted to go out of the house to look for her son at midnight but then she saw Brandon, Liam, and Michael discussing and making calls. This means they haven’t slept too and they would not let her leave the house.
Brandon had seen Hannah from downstairs and then went to meet her upstairs.
“What’s wrong? Why are you still awake? You should be resting” Brandon said
“I don’t know how you do this by acting strong, I can’t sleep knowing my son is out here probably hurt or something. I’m not as strong as you are.
Let’s just call the police so they can search for him and find him, please” Hannah said in fear.
“We cannot involve the police” Brandon responded
“You keep saying we can’t involve the police, why? Can’t you tell me why?” she asked, this time In an angry tone and Liam and Micheal who were downstairs were forced to look up because of how she had yelled.
Brandon stared at her angrily, “Why can’t you just trust me and let me do things my way and find him” Brandon yelled back, this time losing his patience.
“You’ve been telling me to keep trusting you for the past few hours now and yet, here you are doing nothing to find him” Hannah yelled
“You think I’m here doing nothing?….” Brandon closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. The moment he opened them, he couldn’t see Hannah in front of him again.
He turned and saw her walking back to her room. He followed her and they both entered the room. Hannah picked up her phone and was about to call the police when Brandon spoke.
“I know how you are feeling Hannah,” Brandon said and Hannah turned to him
“You do not know how I’m feeling because if you do, you obviously would have involved the police by now,” Hannah said
“I do. I had a child before….” Brandon said and Hannah paused at once.
“Y.. you had a child?” she asked again to be sure of what she had heard and Brandon nodded.
“Where is the child?” Hannah asked
“Some set of robbers had broken into our home one night and took her.
We involved the police and did everything they asked us to do, but in the end, I lost the child. She was killed” Brandon paused and took a deep breath trying to mask whatever pain he was feeling.
“Her name was Mellisa. I do call her Lisa. She was a sweet loving soul. She was just 3 years old” Brandon said and Hannah became dead silent. She didn’t know what to say.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t know about that,” Hannah said in a calm tone.
“Trust me, I know every bit of what you are feeling. But I promise I will find Jayden and make sure he’s okay” Brandon said and Hannah nodded calmly.
Brandon moved towards her and wiped the tears that were on her face.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier on, ” he said and pulled Hannah into a warm hug.
The hug lasted for a few minutes, After that he pulled away from the hug.
“You should rest now, I have to go,” He said and Hannah nodded in response. She sat on the bed tiredly, staring at the ceiling.
Not quite long, she could hear the sound of a bird chirping from the outside. She stood up and opened the window only to see everywhere was so bright.
It was then she realized she had been awake for so long, staring into nothing.
She moved away from the window and walked outside her room. She climbed down the stairs and there she saw just Micheal and Brandon, although they didn’t see her, She wondered why Liam wasn’t with them.
“He’s probably gone to the company since Brandon won’t be going,” Hannah thought and then went back to her room.
Just then she heard her phone vibrate, it was a text message from a strange number. She opened the message and read it.
*If you want to see your son and save him, you must come alone to this address, if you do come with anyone, you would find your child dead*
She paused for a few seconds and then reread the message.
She had wanted to go show Brandon the text message but she didn’t. What if the person who sent this message finds out?
I need to go myself and save my son, she thought and then walked to her wardrobe, and put on a pair of black trousers.
She picked up her car key and walked out of her room. She climbed down the stairs gently without Brandon nor Micheal seeing her.
She then used the back door and walked out of the house. She walked towards her car which was in the garage. She entered her car, ignited the engine, and zoomed off.All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Her car came to a halt in front of a big mansion. She checked the address as she stared at the mansion. It was the house address.
She alighted her car and entered the compound which was so silent. No single sound could be heard. At first, a cold shiver ran down her spine.
“Maybe I should go back home, what if this is a setup?” she thought with fear running through her spine. But then she had a second thought, she needed to save her son.
She planted a soft knock on the door and it creaked open by itself. At first, she wondered why the door wasn’t locked.
She pushed the door open and walked in.
“Anyone home?!” she yelled but there was no response.
