“Jessica, will you marry me,” Jeff said and Jessica opened her mouth wide agape as she saw the Diamond ring in Jeff’s hands.

“Jeff, please stand up please,” she said as she looked around, luckily no one was staring at them.

“Please sit,” Jessica said and Jeff nodded.

“What’s wrong?” Jeff asked calmly

“I wasn’t expecting a ring from you. Jeff, we’ve just known each other not for a very long time and you want us to get married,

I’m sorry, I can’t. I feel everything is happening so fast. I can’t” Jessica said and Jeff sighed softly.

“It’s fine, I’m sorry if it seems things are going too fast. We will take it slow, I’ll wait till you are ready,” Jeff said and Jessica Forced herself to smile.

She then checked her phone and raised her head at Jeff.

“I’m sorry I have to go now, I have something I need to do at home,” Jessica said and stood up, with that she walked out of the restaurant, boarded a taxi, and went straight home.

Immediately she left, Jeff clicked his tongue. His plan didn’t go accordingly. He thought she loved him and would be so happy to marry him but yet she kept on acting up, now I have to come up with another plan that would make her say yes.

He thought as he then brought out his phone and dialed Dave’s contact.

“Hey, did she accept the proposal?” He asked.

“No, I think she’s scared,” Jeff said

“What are you gonna do about it now? She’s the only means you can use in getting Brandon” Dave said

“I know, that’s why we’re gonna bring in her best friend. She’s gonna convince her and tell her how I’m a good guy and she should marry me” Jeff said

“Uhm, you should leave that to me. I think I know of a way to reach her best friend” Dave said and Jeff smiled and ended the call.

He just can’t wait for Jessica to accept his proposal. He thought as he imagined the look on Brandon’s face when he finds out his younger sister is in love with him and is getting married to him.

And Hannah, she would be so jealous, Jeff thought as he smiled to himself.

The front door to Colby’s mansion burst open and Jessica walked inside the house.

Immediately she walked in she met Arianna in the living room, sitting looking sad and lost in thoughts, that she barely noticed someone had walked inside the house.

“Mom” Jessica called and Arianna jumped out of her thoughts.

“Honey” Arianna called and Jessica smiled at her and then sat beside her.

“What’s wrong?” Jessica asked and Arianna sighed softly

“It’s Hannah, she left with the kids, again, She probably hates me now,” Arianna said and Jessica sighed.

“Common mommy, anyone in her shoes would feel the same way, just give her time, she will come around,” Jessica said and Arianna nodded in response.

“Yeah but there’s something else,” Jessica paused when she heard the doorbell ring. Jessica stood up and went to get the door and to her greatest surprise, she saw her best friend, Krystal standing outside with a smile on her face.

“Krystal, what are you doing here? I didn’t know you were coming” Jessica said and Krystal rolled her eyes.

“It’s been a long time since I gave you a surprise visit and it’s been days since I saw you, I miss you. Now, would you please invite me in” Krystal said and Jessica laughed

“Of course, you can come in,” Jessica said and Krystal walked in staring at the interior design of the house. The house looks so much different from the last time she came.

“I thought you were leaving for Australia today?” Jessica asked

“Yes, but I changed my mind. I wanted to give you a surprise visit and you know, see your brother, my crush,” Krystal said and they both laughed.

Krystal and Jessica had been friends since childhood. They both went to high school and graduated from college together. Krystal had relocated to Australia with her mother after her both parents separated.

Whenever she comes to Atlanta to visit her dad, Jessica would be the one to pick her up from the airport, they would go clubbing and have lots of fun.

Recently, Jessica came to visit her dad and is in town and was planning to leave when Dave called her.

Just then Camilla heard her phone ring, she smiled at them and walked away.

“I thought she was dead?” Krystal asked

“Same here, it’s a long story, I will tell you about it later, ” Jessica said as they both sat on the couch and then sighed softly.

“What’s up with the mood?” Krystal asked

“Jeff asked me to marry him,” Jessica said and Krystal opened her mouth wide pretending to be shocked.

“Oh my God, tell me you said yes,” Krystal said and Jessica rolled her eyes.

“Oh no, don’t tell me you said no,” Krystal said with a frown.

“I didn’t say no, neither did I say yes. Everything is complicated Krystal.

Jeff and I hadn’t known each other for a very long time and days ago he wasn’t answering my phone calls and today he proposed to me.

I can’t just say yes, although he said he would wait for me till I’m ready” Jessica said and Krystal clicked her tongue.

“Oh, my goodness Jessica. I’m sure there’s a reason he didn’t answer your phone calls. He was probably busy.

Common Jess, Jeff loves you so much and from the way I see him, he’s a nice man. You should give him a chance and accept the ring.

Then when he takes you to see his family, you would get to know him more” Krystal said and Jessica went dead silent.

“Jessica, all the guys you’ve been with in the past, you’ve been the one who loved them more but this is different, Jeff loves you more than you love him,” Krystal said and Jessica sighed softly.

“Fine, I’ll think about it,” she said and Krystal smiled knowing too well that Jessica would accept the proposal.

“Now, tell me how the hell your mom is alive,” Krystal said and Jessica smiled
