“What?” a voice spoke from behind and they saw Brandon and Hannah standing behind them, with Mellisa with them.

Jessica swallowed into nothing knowing she was in a big trouble.

“I didn’t force them into doing anything. They were the ones who brought up the idea of keeping an eye on Lisa and searching her room” Jessica said and Brandon stared at her with a speechless look.

“And you let them do it? They are kids, Jessica” Brandon yelled.

“I wish they would act like kids, it would be better,” Jessica said with an eye roll.

Lisa stared at Jessica and then remembered all that had happened yesterday, it was then it dawned on her that the kids had drawn her out of her room so they could search it.

She wondered if they found something else.

“You set me up with the kids” Lisa yelled.

“Shut up!!” Everyone yelled at her and she joined her lips together as everyone was now staring at her.

She swallowed into nothing as she stared at them and then her eyes came in contact with that of Mellisa. Her eyes were swollen and red like she had cried.

“Mellisa,” Lisa called and the little child turned to her and then pouted.

“What happened?” She asked and the little girl rushed towards her and hugged her.

“Grandma is dead” Mellisa cried and Lisa became speechless at once.

“Oh my goodness!!” She muttered as she stared at her with pity in her eyes.

“I’m so sorry for everything, I’m so sorry, Mellisa,” she said as the little girl sobbed.

Jessica rolled her eyes. Just then Jessica heard a knock on the door.

“I’ll go get the door,” she muttered as she walked towards the door. She opened the door and saw a delivery man.

“You are Mrs Jessica right?” the man asked and she nodded and then gave her an envelope.

She wondered what was in the envelope, she opened it and saw it was the DNA test result.

“Thank you,” she said to the delivery man and then closed the door, before reading what was written on it.

The test result stated positive, Mellisa is Brandon’s child.

Impossible, she thought as she stared at Mellisa and the test result in her hands.

“What are you going to do with her? I mean Lisa” Lucas asked Brandon.

“I don’t know, maybe lock her up in prison,” he said and Lisa felt tears gather up in her eyes.

“Please do not send me to prison please, I will do anything you want, just don’t send me to prison” she begged.

“I’ll call the DPO now, someone is going to jail for fraud, lie etc,” Lucas said as he brought out his phone.

Mellisa stared at Lisa and saw tears in her eyes. She had just lost her grandma and she could not afford to lose another person she was close to.

She wasn’t going to lose Lisa too.

“Please, do not send her to prison, she’s the only one I have now, please” Mellisa begged alongside Lisa.

Brandon stared at the little child and didn’t say a word.

“Brandon please, I’m sorry I lied, I promise to leave this house, leave town, and never return” she begged and Lucas scoffed.

“Don’t tell me you are going to let her go like that Brandon? She lied to you, she just didn’t lie about anything but your child who is dead.

She made this child pretend to be her. She fucking lied and decieved everyone” Lucas said and Brandon sighed softly.

“Since when did you become so soft?” Lucas asked when he didn’t say a word.

“I don’t think she lied,” Jessica said from behind as she walked towards them.

“What are you talking about?” Hannah asked.

“She didn’t lie about Mellisa being Brandon’s child,” Jessica said and everyone turned to her, looking confused.

“What do you mean?” Brandon asked and Jessica gave him the DNA test result.

“What’s this?” He asked as he read it.

“A DNA test result that states she’s your child,” Jessica said and Brandon stared at her and the result, she was telling the truth.

“And when did you do the DNA test?” Lucas asked as she took the paper from Brandon’s hands and read it himself.

“I did it when the octuplets insisted,” Jessica said and Hannah turned to her.

“The octuplets again?” She asked with a look of surprise on her face. This is the second time they are being mentioned in all of this.

What had my kids been up to, Hannah thought and then sighed.

“This result cannot be true,” Lucas said as he gave it back to Jessica.

“It is true. Sadly, she’s Brandon and Lisa’s child” Jessica said, and then Hannah paused and then turned to Brandon.

“What if this is what her Grandma Samantha was trying to tell Brandon earlier today before she died?” Hannah thought.

“Mellisa, go wait for me upstairs. I won’t hurt Lisa, I promise” Brandon said and Mellisa nodded and gave Lisa one last glance before going upstairs.

“I do not believe the test result, where did you even get any sample for the DNA test?” Lucas asked.

“The octuplets got me a few strands of Mellisa’s hair and I got that if Brandon. Even if I hate to admit it, the result is true” Jessica said and Hannah turned to her.

“Where the hell did my kids get Melissa’s hair?” she asked, looking confused and Jessica shrugged.

“Did you know she was my child?” He asked and Lisa paused, staring at everyone who was also staring at her, waiting for her to speak.

The truth is, she is confused as everyone else. She never knew Mellisa was Brandon’s child or hers. She happened to see her and thought she would be the best person to pretend to be Mellisa.

She doesn’t believe the DNA test result. How come the child is alive? She thought she had died after she was kidnapped.

She needed to take advantage of the whole situation right now. She doesn’t want to go to prison. This was the perfect time to set herself free.

“Yes, I knew. I knew she was my child. I knew she was our child and I was telling you the truth, I never lied, and I would never lie about *OUR* child”.
