This girl, she bears a striking resemblance to Alpha Kilian, the Alpha, but there is a glint in her eyes that reminds me of Nelly. Both equally vexing. It is no wonder I held disdain for her upon our first meeting. Now, the reasons have become clear.

Lara, in her snarky tone, spoke with a hint of venom. “Ms. Jackson, is she truly your daughter?”

Nelly, nonchalantly munching on her food, raised an eyebrow at the remark. “Is there an issue with that?”

Lara glared back at him, filled with fury. “This is no nonsense. It is fact. Alpha Kilian, this woman has another man’s child. Why can’t you let her go?”

Rage ignited in Alpha Kilian’s eyes. “That is my concern and has nothing to do with you!”

“You must be insane, Alpha Kilian,” Lara said, disbelief in her voice.

“As I said, it is my affair, and it does not concern you,” he solemnly reiterated.

Lara refused to relent. “I don’t know how this woman has enchanted you, but hear me out, Alpha King Larry will never approve of it!” She turned to Nelly, continuing her tirade. “You terminated Alpha Kilian’s child back then, and now you have a child of your own. Nelly, you should give up on him. No matter what tricks you have up your sleeve, Alpha King Larry will never accept you back into the Morris family!”

Just as Alpha Kilian was about to retort, Nelly sneered coldly. “Is that so?”

Nelly shifted her gaze to Alpha Kilian, her almond-shaped eyes distant. “Alpha Kilian, tell me, would you agree if I said I wanted to marry you again?”

“I will only give you one chance. Will you agree?” Nelly’s tone was gentle, but her gaze held immense aggression.

Though he knew she asked out of defiance, Alpha Kilian couldn’t bring himself to refuse.

As his words hung in the air, Lara scrunched her brows in confusion. “Alpha Kilian…”

“But what if Alpha King Larry is against it?” Nelly interjected.

A faint smile tugged at his lips. “You know well that Grandpa will be thrilled to learn of it.”

Still, Lara refused to believe. “How is that possible? Alpha King Larry-”

Without waiting for her to finish, Nelly interrupted. “Hear that, Lara? The Morris family can’t wait for me to marry Alpha Kilian. It’s just that I have no intention of doing so.”

Lara clenched her fists in anger, her eyes fixed on Nelly. “No, that’s impossible!”

“That’s your problem if you don’t believe it. But remember, don’t ever cause a scene in front of me again. I may tolerate you once, but not the next time,” Nelly warned with each word enunciated.

She had no desire to engage in a fight with Lara, but since Lara persisted in taunting her in front of her child, she decided to show her the true meaning of embarrassment.

Lara, however, was unwilling to admit defeat. “I will speak to Alpha King Larry about this matter.”

Thinking her words would intimidate Nelly, Lara was dismayed to find no trace of worry on Nelly’s face.

“Please see yourself out,” Nelly commanded bluntly.

Seething with anger, Lara turned to leave when Nelly’s voice stopped her.

“Oh, and bring Alpha Kilian with you. Don’t assume that others have the same desires as you. He has been here for days, and no matter how much I try to chase him away, he refuses to leave.”

Lara’s heart ignited with fury.

She glanced at Alpha Kilian, tauntingly saying, “Did you hear that, Alpha Kilian? This woman does not love you at all!”

Without a word, he rose from his seat and walked out.

Lara believed he had reconsidered and decided to leave with her. Grinning smugly, she followed him.

In the corridor, Lara rushed forward to grab Alpha Kilian’s arm. “Alpha Kilian…”

But as her hand neared him, he moved away.

Her hand hung in the air, and she looked at him in disbelief. “Alpha Kilian, you heard what that woman said. Tell me you won’t give up.”

Alpha Kilian glared at her with icy eyes. “I thought I made myself clear, Lara. But it seems you still don’t understand. In that case, I will have Fabian begin the resignation procedures for you.”

Stunned, she stared at him incredulously. “Are you throwing me out?”

“I will have Fabian assess your contributions to the company over the years. You will receive your fair compensation.” With that, he walked away.

Lara felt herself on the verge of breaking down. “How can you measure the value of my hard work with money? Can’t you see I was never in it for the money?”

Alpha Kilian was taken aback.

“Or have you forgotten that I almost… because I tried to help you secure the shares! You promised to protect me since then!”

With his back turned to her, he clenched his teeth in a visible scowl.

Receiving no response, Lara continued her pleas. “I have gone to such lengths for you. Can’t you see the depth of my feelings? I am willing to do anything for you!”

Alpha Kilian turned back to face her. “For the sake of our past, I turned a blind eye to everything you did all these years. But that does not mean I am unaware.”

Lara froze, her face growing grim. “What do you mean by that?”

“What did you do when I took you home after you drank at the bar?” Alpha Kilian questioned.

Lara stood in shock.

“Lara, do not exhaust the last remnants of our friendship.” Without waiting for her response, he headed back towards the ward.

Meanwhile, in the ward, Donna stared at Nelly with bright eyes. “Nelly, are you mad?”

“No.”

“Nelly, you were amazing just now. You made that strange lady so furious!”

“Do you know her?”

“I’ve seen her once when I met Mr. Handsome before. Whenever he held me, she would glare at me. That’s how I knew she didn’t like me,” Donna explained.

Nelly furrowed her brows, lost in thought.

“Nelly, is it possible that Mr. Handsome got angry and left with that lady?” Donna asked.

Just then, Alpha Kilian pushed open the door and hurried in.

At the sight of his return, Donna’s face lit up with a smile. “Mr. Handsome didn’t leave!” She darted towards him.
