You Are The Star In My Life

Chapter 27: I Won't Regret It

Chapter 27: I Won't Regret It

"What is it?" Caroline asked.

"As soon as the baby no longer depends on you for milk, you can leave.Come back after four months"

Caroline's breathing paused for a second as the man replied coldly.

‘His doctor mentioned that he only has around five months left to live.Does that mean he wanted me to be apart from him as he died?’

‘He also told me to return.Perhaps it's so I can stay with the baby’ Caroline's heart ached, but she knew that if she, herself, was hurt, then he must be suffering even more.

"Alright." Caroline helplessly replied.

She sat next to him as he took out his headphones.

The man leaned closer to her and whispered, "Didn't you always want to know what music I'm listening to?" he asked as he handed her his headphones.

Caroline accepted it with a smile and was taken aback when she heard a familiar tune.

It was the very first song that she had recommended to him that day.

The two didn't say anything to each other nor did they make eye contact.

They were simply connected by a set of headphones as they silently listened to the same song.

Caroline couldn't recall how she fell asleep that night but she did remember that in her hazy state, someone whispered in her ear and said, "If only I had known you earlier’

She wanted to respond, but she couldn't stop herself from falling asleep.

Another month passed and time appeared to flow like water.

Caroline couldn't hold back her tears as she fed her baby for the last time. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

She closed her eyes and murmured, "Charles, when you grow up and become a man, accompany Dad well during the time mom is away:"

Even though the little fellow didn't understand, he smiled sweetly at Caroline.

Caroline's luggage which she had packed ahead of time was placed beside the bedroom's door. She walked silently and pushed the door open.

The room was dark as usual.

It was the same room she had repeatedly refused to enter but now found difficult to leave.

The man didn't move even when he noticed that Caroline had entered the room.

She then looked at his back, stretched out her arms, and hugged him from behind without hesitations.

"I won't send you off."

He murmured indifferently after his body tightened for a second.

"I never knew your name. Can you tell me?" her voice trembled as she peered at his silhouette.

"No need."

His voice sounded serene as if he could transform into an ethereal being at any time.

At this time, Caroline couldn't care less about anything else. She faced him and tears streamed down her cheeks.

"I don't want to leave. Can't you just let me accompany you?"

At this moment, the man knew that Caroline had found out about his illness.

He remained silent as he pulled her fingers away from his body, Caroline suddenly became aggressive and hugged him tightly.

She even stood on tiptoe to search for his lips.

Caroline wasn't satisfied when her kiss only landed on his chin so she raised her head and aimed for his lips in which the man had dodged.

"Caroline, enough! Our deal was over. You should go."

Her tears kept on falling so the man had the chance to taste it.

‘It was salty but I couldn't refuse it’ the man thought so.They kept on kissing until they found themselves on the bed together. Both of their clothes were left scattered on the floor as they continued kissing while naked.

His kisses went from her neck down her legs.He grabbed her hands and pinned them on top of her head.He then looked at her with sad eyes.

"You already know, so what's the point of staying?"

"I admit that this place had been dark for me for almost a year and a half.I never wanted to stay until you became the light on my darkest days."

As Caroline said that, she tightly wrapped her arms around his neck and with that, the man could no longer hold back and slowly closed his eyes as he pushed himself inside Caroline.

They did that over and over until their body collapsed.

The two were about to reach their climax when the man said with his hoarse voice, "Caroline, you will regret it"

"No, I won't regret it."

She looked at him with admiration, reached for his hand and clasped her fingers together with him.

"I've never been so certain in my life until today."

As he heard that, his entire body trembled and he immediately wrapped her in his embrace.
