Chapter 976 Impersonation
Knock, knock…
The sound of Hannah knocking on the door became more urgent, “Verda, listen to me, hurry up and wash, time is running out, if the person leaves, your dad will definitely chase after them to go abroad.”
Verda opened the bathroom door, looking shocked at her mother, “Have all the men died? Do you really need to be this dramatic?”
“There are plenty of men, but how many are suitable? There were a few suitable ones before, but they were all scared off by you, right? We have no choice, it’s the situation you created.”
“I know, but I have a condition.”
“What condition?” Hannah said, “Your dad won’t let you have your way this time. Even if you want to set conditions, you have to think carefully about it.”
“I forbid you from interfering. When looking for a lifelong partner, I must like them.”
Hannah knew her daughter well, she couldn’t argue with her mouth, “This time, your dad won’t be easily persuaded by you. We’ve spoilt you for over twenty years. In the future, we will grow old.”
“I know.” Verda understood.
She knew what her parents wanted, but…
She sighed inwardly.
“You better hurry up. Don’t let your dad come find you personally. You’ll really embarrass yourself.”
“Mum, I know my dad really wants me to get married soon, but does it have to be so urgent?”
“Your dad doesn’t have time to wait…” Realizing she had said too much, she quickly changed her tune, “We are getting old, we don’t have time to wait for you.”
“You guys are still young.” Verda laughed.
“Alright, hurry up and take a shower.” Hannah pushed her daughter into the bathroom, “Quickly.”
As Verda showered, she thought of a plan.
It seemed this time, her parents wouldn’t be easily fooled.
She changed into her clothes, dressed up very brightly.
She took the car keys and drove her other sports car.
She arrived at the airport, just in time for Xander to arrive as well.
She had never taken the initiative to this extent to chase after a man.
Even in TV shows and movies, it’s usually the guy who chases after the girl who’s about to leave.
But it was completely the opposite with her.
She was speechless.
“Hey.” She quickly caught up to him.
Xander turned around and saw her, not too surprised, “What, are you taking a flight too? Where are you planning to go?”
For a young lady like her, besides traveling everywhere, she didn’t have much else to do, right?
Verda found it difficult to speak.
But she was really afraid of her father personally finding Xander.
She would be so embarrassed.
“I want you to help me with something,” Verda immediately added, “I won’t shortchange you.”
Xander was intrigued, “What, are you trying to buy me with money?”
“You can set conditions,” Verda said.
Xander looked at her, “First, let’s hear what you need help with. If I can’t help, it’s better to say it early.”
“You can definitely help?” Verda smiled awkwardly, “I bet this surprise visit caught you off guard, right?”
Xander said, “I thought you were taking a flight, just a coincidence. Go ahead, tell me what you need help with, my flight is about to leave.”
“Well, could you impersonate my boyfriend, come home with me, and fool my parents?”
This time, Xander was truly shocked.
“What?”
He felt like he was hallucinating.
“What, no one wants you? That’s why you’re in a rush to get married?” Verda blurted out.
“If someone wants you, why would you need a man to impersonate your boyfriend?” Xander’s eyes held a mocking smile.
Verda’s lips moved but she couldn’t retort.
“Just say whether you agree or not,” Verda crossed her arms.
Xander teased, “Is this how you ask for a favor?”
Verda carolled miserably, “I’m begging you?”
“Not convincing enough,” Xander raised an eyebrow playfully, “When you ask for help, you need to present yourself properly, understand?”
When has Verda ever endured such humiliation?© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
She was about to explode with rage!
She huffed.
“Am I not humble enough?” She had already lowered herself enough.
Xander leaned in close to her ear and asked softly, “Where are you humble?”
Verda was stunned at first, then she realized, her face instantly turned red, “You…”
She was as red as a tomato with a mix of anger.
Xander tsked twice, “Are you blushing? So innocent? Didn’t expect that. Well, just because you’re blushing, I’ll agree to help you out.”
Verda had wanted to explode in anger, but since he agreed to help her, she had no reason to be angry now. She cleared her throat awkwardly, “Let’s go, my car is in the parking lot.”
Xander said, “I need to get my luggage.”
Verda looked puzzled, “Put it in my car?”
Xander handed the luggage to her, “Since I’m helping you out, shouldn’t I be carrying the luggage?”
“You’re still a man, right? Letting a woman do this kind of work?”
“Why don’t you just not consider me as a man?” Xander chuckled.
Verda took a deep breath.
She followed Xander with the luggage.
She glared at Xander’s back, wishing she could shoot laser beams out of her eyes.
She had never encountered a man like him before.
Is he even a man? Why is he…
“Don’t consider me as a man,” Xander said without looking back.
Even if he didn’t look at her, he seemed to read her mind clearly.
“You car where is it?” Xander asked.
“The pink one,” she had it wrapped in pink film, it used to be silver before.
Xander commented, “Indeed, a color women love.”
“Why are you discriminating against women? Don’t forget, you were born from a woman too.”
“I never discriminate against women, but I discriminate against you.”
“You…”
Verda dropped the luggage, clapped her hand to her chest. Every word from Xander felt like a needle poking at her!
Angry, she opened the trunk and put the luggage in. It was a small suitcase but quite heavy. When had she ever done this kind of work?
She was angry and helpless.
It was the first time in her life that she had been bullied, and it was by a man.
She was fuming, wanting to strangle him.
“Strangle me, but then no one will impersonate your boyfriend, hurry up, will you?” Xander smiled teasingly.
Verda walked up to him, unable to bear it any longer, she kicked him in the knee.
“Ouch…”
Xander winced, bent over and held his knee.
“You have a bad temper, what’s with the violence?”
“Why should I have good temper towards a man like you? Is it useful?”
Verda got into the driver’s seat and said, “Get in quickly.”
Xander walked over and sat in the passenger seat.
He fastened his seat belt and asked, “Are there any precautions for impersonating your boyfriend?”
