Chapter 63
Chapter 63 As Long as | Love You “Say that again.” Cedric grabbed her wrist and gave her a deadpan look. “I've said it over and over again. | don’t love you anymore, and | won't love you again. The Maja you knew is dead!”
He pulled her in and kissed her lips to silence her. Maia’s eyes were wide with shock as she struggled against his embrace. She bit his lips hard and shoved him away from her.
Cedric cried out in pain as her shove caused him to pull his back injury. He smirked as he wiped the blood off his lips. “It’s enough as long as | love you.”
Just then, the car pulled to a stop. Baz tried to remain invisible as he got out of the car quietly. Maia studied her surroundings. Prismara Hill was brightly lit, and when she saw his villa, the memory of that winter day came rushing back into her head. She did not want to continue sharing the same room with him, so she exited the car.
The chilly night wind calmed her down as her mind cleared up. She took a deep breath and called Buck. Sadly, her cell phone was snatched out of her hand and tossed aside. “Stay,” he demanded.
Maia smiled mockingly. “Stay? You can’t change my mind. Yes, | used to love you, but that’s over now. We'll never be together again. Besides, I’m getting married soon, so you should leave me alone.”
Cedric grabbed her wrists. “Who are you getting married to?”
“Nigel. In my darkest days, he was always there for me. Making sure that | wasn’t alone and taking care of me. It made me realize that just being present was such an important thing. I’m forever grateful to him.
She wanted Cedric to leave her alone and needed a reason to stop his advances entirely. “Being grateful is different from loving someone,” Cedric said quietly. He was sure that she did not love Nigel.
“I'll worry about that. If you still love me, then you should leave me alone. We're over. | don’t want to see you again! We should move on with our own lives.”
Maia stared straight into his eyes. Her words were calm and determined.
Her words cut him like a knife. He offered her his heart, but she tore it into pieces. Cedric smiled sadly. He had experienced so many forms of heartache within such a short period. How did she endure this in the past?

Cedric could feel everything crumbling. He was already so numb from all the pain and heartache that he could feel nothing. He turned to Baz with a stony face and said, “Send her home.”
Baz was stunned. He nodded respectfully and opened the car door for Maia.
Maia saw the pain reflected in Cedric’s eyes. A tear fell from the corner of her eye when she turned around. She clasped her hands tightly and strolled toward the car.
She could feel the strength leaving her body as every step she took became heavier. ‘I loved you, and | hated you, but | will never be able to forget you. To ensure | could live the rest of my life in peace, | must stay as far away as possible from you."
Cedric eyed her longingly as she left. He fought to hold back his tears as he threw her phone on the ground. The wind blew his hair into a mess as he drowned in sorrow.
On the drive back to Cloud Nine Residence, Maia remained silent. This meant that she would
be able to start over. “Ms. Maia?” After a long internal battle, Baz finally decided to speak up. “What is it?” She asked.
“Mr. Larkin loves you. After you left, I’ve never seen him so devastated. He’d go through his day like the living dead. The first thing he’d do every morning was go to your memorial to talk to you. Why don’t you give him one last chance?”
“Really? Then he should have left me as a memorial.” She smiled and lowered her head. Her long hair framed her face, hiding any emotion behind it.
Silence filled the car again. Baz heaved a heavy sigh. There was no need for him to interfere. He was just an outsider, and if Maia had made up her mind, Cedric would not be able to change it.
Sadly, his boss could not love anyone else anymore. His heart was filled with Maia.
Maia thanked Baz, and she left for her apartment. She needed to replace her cell phone, ast Cedric took the one she had. Fortunately, she had an extra. She immediately texted Nigel and Aiken to inform them that she had gotten home.
Suddenly, Maia heard thunder as it started to pour outside. The rainy season was finally here.. She recalled how she loved to stand close to the windows and look over Prismara Hill when it
