Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 577

Wayne's eyebrows shot higher on his forehead. Was money nothing in the eyes of the rich?

Before he could utter a word, a group of waiters walked up the stairs to the second floor, each with a bottle of cognac in their hands. They lined up, walked into each private room, and placed the bottles on the tables.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Wayne walked behind the waiters and finally saw Everly in one of the rooms.

There were more than ten people in the room. About five of the men in the room wore suits. The remaining people were women dressed in revealing clothes who were there to entertain the men.

Everly was between two men. Wayne's expression darkened when he saw her there.

Everly saw Wayne too. She didn't expect him to be able to get to the second floor. To prevent him from making a fuss right then and there, she got up, made up the excuse of using the restroom, and left the room.

The moment she stepped out of the room, she grabbed Wayne's hand and pulled him all the way to the stairwell.

"Why are you with Marcus? You promised you wouldn't see him again!" Wayne hissed.

The dress Everly wore was revealing too. It blatantly exposed her cleavage and thighs, which angered Wayne even more.

"Look at you! What are you even wearing? How could you come to a place like this? Marcus brought you here, didn't he?" Wayne snapped.

Everly was very much displeased at Wayne. He started yapping the moment they met.

She said, "Why aren't you asking me about the kind of life I've been leading these days?"

"Why did you come here? Why didn't you answer my calls?" Wayne spat.

The words were caught in Everly's throat. Furious, she started thinking that all this happened because Wayne took Hera's side.

"All you do is blame me for everything! If it weren't for Hera slandering me, I wouldn't have left!" she spat.

"Are you done? Hera simply wanted to know the truth. You didn't want to be honest with us and even refused to talk to me—

"That's enough!" Everly cut him short. "Why should I talk to you? In your eyes, I'm always the one who's at fault! And Hera's the one who's always right! I'm your biological sister, but you take her side all the time!

"If you like her that much, you should stop looking for me and just go and become her brother instead. I'm not welcome at the clinic anyway. So, I'll find a way to earn money on my own."

That said, she turned to leave. Wayne grabbed her hand to stop her.

"What did you say? You're still

thinking of going back there to see Marcus? I won't let you do that Come with me and apologize to Hera," he roared.

The flames in Everly's heart burned stronger when she heard that hez wanted her to apologize to Hera. All

Everly wanted was to have a brighter

future! She had done nothing wrong!

As the two of them struggled, Wayne tried to control his strength so that he wouldn't hurt Everly. But in her haste, Everly shoved him.

Wayne slipped and fell down the stairs. His head hit the handrail hard.

"Wayne?" Everly hollered, standing at the top of the stairs. She stared, wide-eyed, at Wayne's still body. Her breath caught in her throat, and her heart started racing.

After a moment of hesitation, she decided to check on Wayne, but she froze when she heard some noise from the corridor.

Swallowing hard, she muttered, "Sorry." Then, she turned and ran back to Marcus' private room.

Bernard dragged Hera out of the bar. His grip on her wrist told her that he was still extremely pissed at her.

He was a green-eyed monster! What should she do with him?

Hera tried to coax him into letting her go.

"Don't be mad, Bernard. Let me explain, will you?"

Bernard didn't speak. His expression remained as cold as ice as he led her to the car park.

Since coaxing him wasn't working, Hera decided she needed a change of plans.

"Slow down. My knee hurts, and I can't keep up," she said.

Only then did Bernard stop. He stopped so abruptly that she bumped into him from behind. Suddenly, he turned around and picked her up bridal style.

With his looks and her beauty, the two of them caught the attention of many.

Hera felt uncomfortable with all the eyes staring at them. She yelped, "Put me down!"

But Bernard couldn't care less about what others thought of them. He carried her to the car, opened the door, and set her down in the back seat.

Before she could process what was going on, a familiar scent invaded her senses, and he was already on top of her.
