Chapter 556
Chapter 556
The next day, Hera woke up to find herself lying on Bernard's right arm. She had no idea when he had awakened since he was texting Douglas with his left hand.
Realizing that Hera had stirred in his arms, Bernard kissed her on the forehead. "Sweetie, you're awake."
"Why are you still here?' Hera was slightly astonished to see him around.
Bernard seemed to have endless energy. No matter how late he went to bed, he would always wake up at the same time every morning.
But Hera couldn't achieve that since she liked to sleep in. If Bernard had not woken her up, she would've woken up whenever she liked. By then, the spot next to her would've gone cold long ago.
"Are you chasing me away after sleeping together? Have you forgotten what you said last night?" Bernard raised an eyebrow
Hera looked extremely adorable, having just woken up and still appearing rather groggy. He couldn't help but hold her tightly in his arms, kissing her cheeks and neck.
His kisses seem to arouse Hera. She couldn't remember what time they finished since she was extremely exhausted toward the end.
Afraid that Bernard wanted to continue what they did last night, she hurriedly pushed him away and sat up. Realizing that she was naked, she used one hand to cover her chest with the blanket. She then used her other hand to reach for the pajamas next to her bed before putting them on.

"I took leave, so I don't have to go to work." Bernard stretched his numb arm where Hera had been lying earlier. Seeing how she was about to get out of bed, he instantly wrapped his arms around her slender waist. 'Do you want to continue sleeping for a while?"
Hera scoffed as she peered at the phone he set aside. The screen displayed the messages sent by Douglas, but Bernard had only replied to half of them.
However, Douglas was still typing. Bernard was clearly very busy.
Bernard noticed her gaze and explained, "I'm afraid you won't let me come back if I leave." He had spent a lot of effort to sleep here for the night.
Hera paused for a moment before asking, "So, are you going to neglect your duties as a CEO?"
"I've partitioned an area as my office at the eastern wing. I already asked Douglas to drop by later to avoid disturbing your sleep,' Bernard explained.
Hera gazed at him, perplexed. So, that was why he kept returning to the eastern wing even though it was very late. She hadn't had a clue what he was busy with in the eastern wing.
Bernard released her and got out of bed before putting on some clothes. 'Do you want to go have a look?"
Hera wanted to get out of bed, but her legs felt weak. She sat by the bedside as Bernard knelt down so that he could piggyback her out of the room.
Since she did not refuse him and even wrapped her arms around his neck, Bernard took the chance to ask, " Sweetie, can I move back here?"
"What if I say no?" Hera intentionally asked as she tilted her head to see his expression. Bernard turned to kiss her on the cheek, but Hera tilted her head slightly more so that their lips met.
The two of them kissed at the entrance to the western wing for a while. Then, Hera suddenly spotted a figure in the courtyard from the corner of her eye.
She pushed Bernard away and struggled to get off before looking at Everly. "Yes, Everly?"
Bernard's expression darkened upon seeing Everly, feeling unhappy at the interruption.
"Didn't you two break up? Why..." Everly was envious upon seeing how happy Bernard and Everly looked.
She became even more jealous when she noticed the love bites on Hera's neck. Although Everly had never had sex before, she knew how those came about and felt very bitter about it.
Everly hadn't seen Bernard at the house for a while. Last week, she heard about Hera breaking up with him, which made Everly secretly joyful about it for a few days.
Once, when she came looking for Hera at the western wing, she even noticed that Bernard's belongings appeared to have been moved out.
Although Everly was disappointed at that time, she was also quite happy about it.
She was dismayed that she would have a harder time seeing Bernard since he would not drop by anymore. But she was also delighted that Hera and Bernard had broken up because that meant she would have a chance with him.
Yes, she still couldn't let go of Bernard. She even went against her conscience by cooperating with the Chimes so that she could be with him.
"Who said so?" Bernard glared at her icily.
"I" Everly couldn't help but shudder. Her jealousy toward Hera seemed to grow stronger. Why could Bernard dote on Hera so much while being so cold to Everly?
