Chapter 27
Chapter 27
“Please get me a glass of water.” Beatrice voiced out, crashing on the sofa, and putting her purse by her side.
“You definitely need one.” Magda tried to muffle her chuckle, going to do as Bea requested.
“Never make your daughter in charge of any important occasion. I promise you she’s gonna stand you up at the last minute.” She said as She accepted the water from Magda.
“What do you mean?” Magda asked innocently, pretending not to have an idea of what Beatrice was saying.
“That brat! She just ran off like She had an emergency, leaving me alone to do all the work. I had to take a taxi. A grown woman like me!!” She exclaimed before gulping down her water.
Magda rolled her eyes at Beatrice’s last statement. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
“What if she actually had an emergency? You don’t have to make everything about you, Beatrice.”
“There you go, supporting her as always.” She said, placing the empty glass cup on the saucer on the nearby table.
“For God’s sake, Magda, it’s my wedding tomorrow, What could beat that in the form of any emergency she could claim to have?”
“The day was almost ruined with the stunt that brat pulled with regards to the hall and she just had to add to my worry. Where the hell is She? And she had the gut to ignore my calls and fucking text! She literally left me stranded at the bridal shop.”
“In as much as you and your daughter have a very foreign relationship, I know what Katherine is capable of. She would sacrifice for you even if you could barely do the same for her so trust me
when I say if it wasn’t an emergency, She wouldn’t have ditched you.”
“Where the hell is she? What was the emergency that she couldn’t tell me about?”
Magda shrugged, knowing it wasn’t her place to spill anything.
“But you were able to get everything done right? We’ve also informed all the guests about the venue change.”
“Stop trying to change the topic, Magda. I’m so pissed right now.”
“There’s no point in being cranky, Bea. Why cry over spilt milk? You need to be in a good mood for tomorrow so you should be as calm as possible. What matters is that you got everything settled.”
“Yeah, Remind me not to trust my daughter for an important day in my life again. She’s not home, right? She better show up as my bridesmaid tomorrow or I will murder her myself.”
“You’ve got nothing to worry about. She will carry out her role tomorrow perfectly.”
“Ugh, I hate the fact that she’s close to you, you know every one of her movements and even the things that I don’t know. I now feel like a witch while you are a good mother.”
“Stop overthinking Bea.”
Beatrice rolled her eyes. “Oh please, you know I know I’m telling the truth.”
“She claims I’m not nice to her but whenever I try to be, She mocks me.”
“Anyways, that’s her business. I’m glad I managed to sort things out on my own today. I’m not going to let anyone ruin my big day tomorrow.”
“By the way, How’s my guest?” A small smile crept to Beatrice’s lips and it was amusing how her mood switched up from that of sadness to that of delight. The presence of a loved one could honestly do so much good to an individual.
“And why the hell were you giving him a hard time?” She added, challenging Magda.
“Oh please.....” Magda rolled her eyes.
“Come on, Magda. Ollie is not just any guest. He’s different! He came all the way from Australia. He spent hours flying. The least you could do was to treat him right.”
“If you had cared so much for all your stepkids this way, maybe one of them wouldn’t have shooed you out of the hall you intend to use for your wedding tomorrow.”
“Don’t you dare mock me, Magda! It wasn’t my fault that her father chose me over her Mom. Besides, they were already divorced before I got married to him. Her behavior was so childish and uncalled for. Though I’m gonna have my wedding reception elsewhere, I won’t give up without a fight. She must pay for the humiliation.”
“But that still doesn’t mean you had a right to disrespect my guest. If you couldn’t help him with the bag, you could have easily called any of the maids to take it to the guest room for him.”
“Spare me those excuses, Bea. You of all people know for a fact that I can’t stand ill-mannered people.”
“He’s just a guest. He will be out of here in a few days. You should have endured him.”
“Are you kidding me right now?” Magda arched her brow at Beatrice.
She sighed. “Did you at least offer him something?”
“I did but he ignored me.”
“Fine. I made you in charge of my most precious guest and you had to ruin everything!”
“I know you are normally a drama queen but can you just be a little sensitive about this?”
“He didn’t answer me when I offered him food or drinks so what do you expect me to do? Force the items down his throat like a toddler?”
Beatrice rolled his eyes. “After treating him that way, of course, he wouldn’t want to accept anything from you.”
“He’s in the guest room. You might as well go feed him.” Magda pointed towards the staircase.
Beatrice exhaled, rising to her feet, “I don’t know why I’m surrounded by brats.”
“You shouldn’t take things too seriously, hun. Olle’s life is pretty different from what we are used to here. He’s the son of a very wealthy man who’s used to people doing everything for him, well except his office work.”
“The point is, he’s here against his will and I really wanna impress him. I want to be a good host. So for my sake, just be nice to him.”
Magda shook her head.
“Between you and Katherine, I don’t know who is more stubborn.”
“Please have the chef set up dinner for two on the balcony. Oliver and I will be eating there.”
“I was thinking I would have to deal with noise from those kids but cool to see that they’ve slept,” Beatrice mumbled in relief as she made her way upstairs, excited to see Oliver Gusto. Because at
this time, the triplets were always downstairs, in the main living room, watching their evening cartoons.
Magda shook her head in pity, knowing Beatrice was about to receive the shock of her life.
Beatrice happily made her way up the stairs. She wanted to go straight to where Oliver was but she changed her mind, deciding to get cleaned up first.
Getting to her room, She placed her purse on the dresser after which she went straight to the bathroom. She undressed, got into the shower and did her business.
Coming out all cleaned up, She dried her body, and applied her lotion and body sprays, after which she changed into a tube bodycon dress. She put on her jewelry and styled her hair.
Taking one last glance at the mirror, Beatrice smiled at herself at how gorgeous she looked. Satisfied with everything, She exited her room and approached the door next to her room.
Taking a deep breath, Beatrice brought her fist to the door and knocked on the door.
Getting no response at her first attempt, She knocked softly again. “It’s me, Beatrice. Please open the door.” She said in her nicest tone.
Bea couldn’t help with the smile that crept to her lips as she heard him try to open the door from the inside. It’s been years since they saw each other and she couldn’t help but think of what her first reaction would be. Perhaps hugging him and inhaling his sweet scent. She heard Oliver had grown even more handsome and she couldn’t wait to see it for herself.
After what felt like forever, the door finally opened from the inside. She had thought of her possible reactions when she finally saw him but she never saw this one coming. The smile on Beatrice’s face slowly faded away.
“Holy shit!!!” Beatrice had no idea when that word slipped from her tongue. “Sebastian....Sammy...Sophie....” She mumbled in shock.
