you’ve changed it
Marco furrowed his brow as the morning sunlight began to disturb his sleep. Slowly, he opened his eyes and reached out to the side of the bed where his wife Letta usually lay. However, this time Marco didn’t feel Letta’s presence beside him. This prompted Marco to focus, only to find himself alone in the large bed. Trying to sit up, he gazed at the expansive room he occupied. Even Freya was no longer in her crib. Marco glanced at the clock, which read 7:00 AM, realizing Letta hadn’t woken him up at all. He stretched his body, trying to relax the muscles clinging to his perfect frame before eventually getting out of bed.
Heading towards the window, Marco heard voices from the garden next to their house. He spotted his wife and their little daughter playing ball in the vast garden, accompanied by a few servants not far from them. Marco then grabbed the phone from the nightstand and captured the scene from afar, capturing the beautiful smiles of his wife and little Freya before quickly preparing himself.
Somehow, the thought of having to go to the office today made Marco feel truly lazy. He longed to spend the entire day with Letta and Freya, enjoying their time together. However, the demands of his job forced Marco not to neglect his company. Otherwise, Edward would intervene and push him out. Marco didn’t want that to happen. He didn’t want to lose face in front of his little daughter, who always laughed whenever Edward scolded him.
Marco began to drench his athletic body under the pouring water in the bathroom. Yet, what made him furrow his brow was the different aroma in the bathroom. He inhaled and sensed the waft of vanilla that now permeated his senses. He was a little surprised if his wife was beginning to like a different scent, whereas Marco preferred the previous one. However, Marco didn’t dwell on it too much, shrugging it off.
As Marco stepped out of the bathroom, he saw Letta picking up some toys from Freya’s bed. Marco walked over to Letta and immediately hugged his wife from behind. Letta was slightly startled by the familiar scent that instantly enveloped her senses. A chill now spread through her back as Marco held her tightly.
“My clothes can get all wet if you come this close,” Letta muttered, trying to loosen her husband’s embrace. But Marco had no intention of letting go.
“Why didn’t you wake me up? You usually stroke my face or give me a good morning kiss to wake me up. Are you really ignoring me today?” Marco spoke again, making Letta glance slightly towards her husband.
“It’s because Freya kept whining to play with me immediately, so I didn’t have a choice. Early in the morning, she was already cranky because she wanted to swim,” Letta said, causing Marco to turn his wife’s body to face him without releasing his grip on Letta’s waist.
“Really? Why didn’t I hear her? Was I sleeping that soundly?” Marco said, making Letta just shrug indifferently.
“It’s better that you get ready quickly now because it’s already too late for a company leader to enter his office. Do you want to set a bad example for your employees?” Letta said, attempting to push Marco’s body, but Marco shook his head.
“Of course not. My employees are very understanding. They know that their boss has a harmonious family and is reluctant to leave it. They know that their boss is very comfortable at home, so they will be very understanding,” Marco said, winking one eye, making Letta roll her eyes lazily.
“Forget it, I’m not fooled by your sweet talk so early in the morning. I have to give this toy to Freya right away and give her breakfast. I don’t want Freya to start getting cranky and asking for other strange things again,” Letta said.
“What about me then?” Marco asked, making Letta shrug casually.
“I don’t know, you’re an adult. You can handle everything. So, give in to your little princess and let me go before her screams make the servants panic again,” Letta said, but Marco once again had no intention of releasing his embrace.
“Well, then let me briefly savor your scent,” Marco said, breathing in the nape of Letta’s neck, making Letta fall silent, feeling the warm breath now filling the nape of her neck.
“It’s true, you’ve changed it,” Marco said, making Letta turn slightly towards her husband.
“Why, doesn’t the scent please you? I just got it, and it’s Arabella’s recommendation,” Letta said, making Marco nod his head.
“No wonder, considering I liked your previous scent. From the first time we met, it never changed, and now it’s mixed with another scent. It’s better if you change it back to the usual one,” Marco said again, making Letta shake her head.
“Too bad. Besides, all of mine is gone, and Arabella just sent this one. It’s a pity to throw it away. I don’t want to waste something that’s still plenty, especially since it’s a gift from someone,” Letta said, making Marco tighten his embrace even more.
“Yes, even if I’ll still hold you like this even if I don’t like the scent, but she’s still my wife, and I have to accept it slowly, right? After all the products sent by Arabella are finished, I’ll help you use it up,” Marco said, making Letta shake her head.
“No need. You’ll probably end up intentionally wasting it, so stop chatting this morning and get ready quickly,” Letta said, making Marco nod before attempting to bring his face closer to Letta. However, for some reason, Letta immediately avoided him, surprising Marco.
“Why?” Marco asked.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
“If we start, Freya will really throw a tantrum down there. Come on, understand a bit. You don’t want your stubbornness to rub off on your daughter, do you?” Letta said, this time truly releasing her embrace.
“Get ready quickly and go to the office,” Letta said, then left without giving Marcoa sweet kiss or anything, leaving him alone staring at the now-closed door.
“Did she just avoid my kiss? What’s going on with my wife?” Marco mumbled, feeling slightly different about Letta for some reason, but the next moment Marco shook his head. How could she change? She was still Letta, his wife, whom he knew. Marco smiled, then turned and entered the dressing room, preparing himself to go to the office with all the strength and spirit he had to gather.
Afterwards, Marco walked out of the room, descending the stairs where Letta was feeding Freya at the dining table.
“Are you ready?” Letta asked, making Marco nod his head.
“Yes, do I have to have breakfast alone again this time?” Marco asked, making Letta look at her empty plate.
“I’ll have breakfast after Freya finishes her meal,” Letta said, making Marco fall silent. “Even though Desi can feed her, not just to feed her, so it’s better for you to accompany me for breakfast,” Marco said, making Letta look at her husband and shake her head. Was his wife really going to ignore him completely, Marco wondered, beginning to fold his arms, gazing at Letta, who seemed deliberately avoiding him.
