Chapter 6: What just happened?
Chapter 6: What just happened?
I stared blankly into the space where his retreating back had been visible just a few seconds ago. My gaze went to Beta Daniel in question, my mouth open, unable to form any words. He just shrugged his shoulders with ‘I am just as clueless as you look. He looked amused. What was so funny about his alpha rejecting my pack bond in front of every fucking person?
It was Olivia who burst into laughter first, followed by Alicia, and other pack members who were staring at me like I was a living, walking joke.
“Oh god… did alpha just reject her, AGAIN?” Alicia spluttered through her giggles.
“How cool. That was so unexpected!” some man standing next to them joined into the mockery, staring at me, “Mia, how does it feel? Are you trying to find a way where you can run off again with your tail high in the air like yesterday?”
Alicia slapped on his arm, doubling over with laughter, “There,” she pointed toward the forest while staring at me, “you can run there and cry all you want.”
Some were staring at me with pity, some were just having a good laugh about how I had gotten rejected right now once again.
“Now that alpha isn’t going to make you our pack member, I guess you are going to be banished?” Olivia was grinning from ear to ear, her eyes twinkling with happiness and pride, “God… who would have thought that things would come to this for a alpha slayer just the very next day!”
Alicia shuffled in her pocket, pulled out a penny, and threw it on my face, letting it drop on the ground by my feet, “Here. I can only help this much for the new start of your banished life. Get lost fast!”
My heart was thudding so hard that I thought it was going to burst out of my chest. The only difference was that this time, I was angry out of my damn mind. I kept silent, my feet turning in the direction where
alpha had disappeared from just now. I had taken one step, when a hand grabbed my shoulder, snatched me back harshly, and turned me around.
Olivia stood in front of me with a smug look on her face,
“Aw… are you about to cry your eyes out in front of our alpha for your place in this pack, Mia?” she pushed my shoulder hard, making me stumble back a couple steps since compared to her, my frail, bony form was pretty weak,
“you are soon going to be a fucking rogue once alpha officially announces your banishment, or maybe, since you are just a useless fucking trash for us, Alpha Alessio will drown you in the toilet water just like your little Snowball that you were crying over a few hours ago.”
She was grinning widely, her gaze that of a psychopath. I could not take it any longer. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“You know what is more baffling to me than my rejection for this pack bond ceremony by the alpha, Olivia?” I asked in a sweet, innocent voice, “it’s that how quick your courage has rushed back while just a few hours ago you were sobbing your eyes out, grabbing my feet, begging for mercy, and whining about how alpha Wyatt abused you to do the things he wanted. How is your fake courage back so quickly?”
Olivia’s smile faded with each word that came out of my mouth, her eyes widened while her whole body trembling with fury. She glanced around in self consciousness, knowing everyone standing around had heard about what she had done.
“BITCH!” she suddenly screeched like a maniac, her fist lifting up in the air to pummell down on my face.
I was prepared for it. My strength was nothing in front of her even though she had also become a normal pack member with no status now after Alpha Wyatt’s death, but physically, due to never having
a full meal even once in these five years, I didn’t have much physical strength in my body.
I closed my eyes, moving sideways right when I heard the sound of flesh hitting against flesh.
I didn’t feel any pain.
Shocked, I opened my eyes hesitantly. Olivia was still standing in front of me with her fist in the air except that fist had been grabbed mid air by a large palm.
“Don’t you fucking dare!” Liam growled, his eyes burning down on Olivia.
Olivia was clearly scared of Liam and his anger. With his status within the pack being higher as well, it was not like she could fight him off or even have the courage to retort. So she pulled back her fist and took a step back with a dirty scoff, rolling her eyes.
I stepped away from Liam. I did not want to talk to him nor be around him right now. I also did not want to be protected by him. He had broken my trust and my dignity. I now knew that I will have to pay a hefty price for every good thing that I get from any living human being and now… I didn’t have anything left to give to anyone.
“Mia, come with me, let’s tal-” Liam attempted to grab my hand, but I stepped back, and stormed off in the direction where Alpha had disappeared, out of the pack ground.
“Wooohoooo! The murderer is gone!” a man shouted from behind me.
People burst out in laughter. Despite trying to control myself, I could not help but turn my head to stare at their faces while walking away. None of these people had ever liked Alpha Wyatt because he had been a rude asshole to literally every person in the pack.
Several people were not laughing at me, including Diana, the old omega who stood with her hands clenched in front of her silently. I could see that they were not pleased with the way I was being treated
but they also could not dare to take a stand and take an Alpha Slayer’s side.
With my heart in my throat, my pride literally dangling in front of my eyes in rags, and my mind throbbing with the sound of insults, I walked out of the pack ground and entered the pack house.
Unless I am bound to alpha, I will not be counted as a pack member. This bonding ceremony was the most important for every werewolf. If we are not bonded to the pack, we are discarded as rogues. And Rogues don’t live long once they are separated from other wolves. They get hunted, they get captured and tortured and they lose their minds and become maniacs. None of the scenarios end up in a happy ending.
Alpha Alessio walking away without binding me is humiliating. I was burning with fury and shame. I had to make him bind me!
I saw his back as he was striding towards his office door from the main hall.
“Alpha!” I called out to him from behind.
No answer.
“Alpha! Please stop.” I shouted louder, he ignored me again.
I walked faster, almost running to catch up with him while calling him again and again from behind but he ignored each of my calls. He suddenly walked inside a room, I ran after him blindly.
I had not realised what I had done until I took a look around the room and halted in my steps in the middle of the room. We were in alpha’s office. The same room where I had murdered Alpha Wyatt just a day ago.
My whole body went into a cold shock, creeped out. I had not realised what I had done until I was standing in the same room where I had committed the murder.
A nightmare flashed in front of my eyes. I could still feel the coldness of the blade touching Alpha Wyatt’s chest. The smell of blood, the sound of blood oozing, my hand holding the handle, the taste of blood in my mouth, the feel of the handle against my skin. It was all so clear and yet I couldn’t stop it.
I had stopped breathing. Literally.
“Why are you following me?” A deep voice entered my consciousness, coming from far away.
I blinked hard, the sound of the voice grew louder. My gaze snapped up, my eyes colliding with Alpha Alessio who stood in front me, leaning against the head table with his arms folded over his chest.
It took a few good moments for me to come back to my senses and remember why I had followed alpha Alessio. I pushed back the overwhelming fear that had engulfed me, and then controlled my loudly beating heart, begging for it to calm down as I responded in a low voice,
“The binding.”
“What?”
I cleared my throat, gaining more courage as the fear started to fade away, “The pack binding ceremony.” I said in clear words, staring at him with accusation filled eyes, “why did you walk away without binding me to the pack?”
He raised his eyebrows, his face covered in seriousness, “Are you questioning me right now?”
I was taken aback by his question. Confused.
“I- I guess.” I muttered, “I can not be part of you unless you bind me through the ceremony.”
He remained silent but his gaze bored into me. It was to the point that I almost felt creeped out. I had not said anything wrong, had I? Why was he staring at me so intently? And the way his bulging arms
tightened inside the jacket he wore… was he really angry?“Come here.” he suddenly said.
My eyes widened, afraid. He looked serious as hell, and the way his dark eyes had melted, his jaw leaning down and his hard face glancing at me with utmost interest, all the red flags were going off in my head.
“What do you want?” I asked, alarmed.
His lips twitched a bit, a ghost of a smile coming on the corner of his lips, “I will give you what you want and what you deserve. Come here.” he repeated in a calm voice.
I trembled under his electrifying gaze. There was a heat spreading over me from head to toe, my fingers clenching the side of my pajama in tight fists in nervousness but like I was possessed by his melting dark eyes, I moved towards him. I was being pulled by his burning gaze. His dark eyes were like two burning embers, they bored into me, warming me, making me feel comfortable, like I was at home.
I took in a deep breath as I stopped right in front of him. My pulse was pounding in my ears, my breath coming out in quick gasps. I felt like I was going to faint. I could feel the heat of his gaze burn into me, burning a hole through my clothes, making my skin tingle in warmth.
I was close to him now, I could feel the warmth of his body heat, and for some reason, I couldn’t understand if it was my imagination or reality but I could hear and feel his quick, shallow, deep breaths. His face was covered in blankness but his breaths were giving away the passion he was feeling because of our closeness.
Suddenly, his hand shot out, his palm slipped inside my t shirt, on my naked waist. My eyes widened, my whole body in literal chills as his warm touch, skin against skin made me freeze in my spot.
I was so confused, so lost in the moment, and I could not believe what was happening. I could not believe the touch of his hand on my waist, and his hot breaths falling on my neck. My whole body was tingling, and I could not move, I couldn’t think, I was afraid of what he was about to do without having any control over my senses.
He gripped me tighter, his arm sliding more in my waist and then, I felt his breaths falling on the side of my neck, sending tickles on each inch of my body.
My hands shot up, clenching the corners of his jacket, my heart beating fast and my mind blank. His touch had made me forget anything but the sensation that he was igniting inside me. His palm on my waist slithered up and down on my naked skin, his mouth lowered, his lips touched my skin, and a moan escaped my parted, parched lips, “Alpha.”
The next thing I knew, his fangs had pierced my neck, biting me.
Wait, is it a mark?!
