Chapter 225 The Deviation
Chapter 225 The Deviation
According to the number of drugs Frederic had mentioned, there was no doubt that the death penalty
was waiting for the Duncans.
"Madam, I have been with Mr. William for many years. I am sure the Duncan Group never dabbles in
the drug business. There must be someone who wants to frame the Duncan Group!"
The Duncan Group never had anything to do with drugs. William hated drugs, so when the police found
drugs in the company's warehouse, Frederic suspected that someone was plotting against the Duncan
Group while William was not here.
"Who did this? It's too dangerous!"
Jane shook her head, and she had got too much in her mind. She tried to calm herself down.
The discovery of drugs in the warehouse of the Duncan Group did not mean that the Duncan Group
was selling drugs.
However, it was hard to prove the innocence of the Duncan Group.
The news made Jane's heart sank
"Madam, we had rented it to the Cart Group."
Jane also knew it and was impressed with it very much.
Daisy poached all the employees about half a year ago when Jane just took over the jewelry company.
It made Jane tend to get flustered.
William quickly took back all the shops that the Cart Group had rented for Snow to retaliate against the
Cart Group
And now the police found drugs there.
It was too much of a coincidence.
Moreover...
Jane remembered that Julia and Daisy ever planned to let her drink a glass of wine mixed with
hallucinogens.
Kylie kept the fragments of that wine glass. There might be a few hallucinogens in these fragments.
However, the witness, Sophia, was gone.
How could Jane prove the innocence of the Duncan Group?
Jane shook her head. She couldn't find a solution now. Even if she told the police about the existence
of these fragments, it did not work.
The Duncan Group was the strongest suspect. It was a waste of time to put the suspicion on the Carts
without evidence.
However, waiting without doing anything was not a good choice.
"Madam, I must leave now. I have much work to deal with." Frederic said and then left.
And then he came back a few minutes later.
"Madam, everything will be OK. Don't be too worried."
Frederic rubbed his forehead. He could feel that there was something wrong. Now what he could do
was not to make Jane worry a lot.
William has gone missing. Fortunately, Colin restored some stability to the Duncan Group.
"Frederic, thank you."
Jane thought for a while and nodded, watching Frederic leave.
The police came to the Duncan's after Frederic left, and they asked Jane to cooperate with the
investigation.
Because the number of drugs was extraordinary, the police had been alerted. And they would
thoroughly search the Duncan Group.
"Mrs. Duncan, please cooperate with the investigation."
Because the police did not know whether William was alive or not, they needed to keep an eye on
Jane.
"No problem."
Jane knew it was inevitable, so she did not be panic. Instead, she comforted Lainey and other
servants.
It was nothing. It was an obligation to cooperate with the investigation and accept the police to search
the Duncan's.
"Sir, the Duncan Group is innocent. We are framed."
Jane wanted to get more information from the police. She felt that it wasn't going to be that simple. On
the surface, it seemed that the Cart Group planned to frame the Duncan Group.
But, what would the Cart Group gain by doing that? Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Sophia was dead. The Floyds and the Carts had fallen apart. In addition, Jane heard that Julia and
Keith quarreled and even fought with each other.
It was not good news for the Duncans and the Carts to involve in the drugs business. And the Floyds
were the only one that could profit from it.
Jane sank into a reverie.
"Mrs. Duncan, I am very sorry to inform you that there are many employees who test positive in the
drug test."
In other words, the Duncan Group was a den for taking drugs. And the investigation would last a long
time.
"How is that possible?"
Jane was shocked. It seemed that the situation was worse than she had imagined.
After that, the police told Jane that she couldn't go abroad for the time being.
"We will continue to investigate it."
If it were the truth, the number of drugs was enough to break the Duncan Group down.
Jane sent the police away and sat on the sofa.
The hits just kept coming. Jane was confused about what had happened.
If William were here, he would keep everything on track. And it seemed that it was too difficult for her.
"Madam, what is going on?"
Lainey looked worried. She heard that Colin had been taken away by the police. She was afraid that
Jane would be the next one.
How could others come up with such a sneaky plan to frame the Duncan Group when William was not
here! The Duncan Group could not possibly be involved in drug trafficking!
"Lainey, don't worry. William must be innocent."
Jane felt a little hungry and urged the servants to cook some food. She wanted to make things go as
usual.
Jane believed that it wouldn't take long to get the trumped-up charges off.
Today the jewelry company was on a day off. Jane called Elyse, Robert, and Pearl to discuss. She
trusted them most.
Robert came, and his expression was not good.
The police had already been to the Duncan Group's private hospital, and they found a problem.
"More than half of medicines in the hospital suddenly lost. The medicine warehouse keeper has not
been here for a few days."
Those medicines contained a small number of components that would use to make drugs. Therefore,
the government sought ways to limit the availability of them.
The loss of these medicines made the police suspect the Duncan Group even more.
"Let me explain it briefly. These technical terms are difficult for the layman to understand."
Robert rubbed his hair and said, "Methamphetamine contains Ephedrine Hydrochloride. Drug dealers
usually refine them from herbal medicine. Because it is the herbal medicine which is used widely, some
medicines contain it."
Therefore, someone could steal medicines to make drugs. But it could not be sure that the stealing of
medicines must be related to making drugs.
"The main point is that at this critical juncture, the loss of the medicines and the disappearance of the
warehouseman is a very suspicious case."
Robert was suspicious that someone played a series of tricks to frame the Duncan Group.
"Robert, I heard that many employees of the Duncan Group tested positive in the drugs test. What's
going on?"
When Elyse heard the news, she felt it was inconceivable. One of her friends in the Duncan Group
accepted the test, and he said that he was terrified when he knew the test results.
He didn't know that he had taken drugs.
Someone might have placed drugs on the Duncan Group's employees' food.
"Not necessarily."
Robert continued to explain. And then Jane understood.
