Chapter 37
Chapter 37
"Shut up!" Dominic, holding a stethoscope, turned his head and gave Jenna a stern look. "Who told you to come here? Get out!"
She was an intern on her first day of work. Without any training or permission from the attending physician, she had intruded into the ward. She even spoke rudely to the patient.
Once this was over, Dominic would have to find out who let her work in the hospital.
After some time, Lilly calmed down and her heart rate gradually returned to normal. She leaned on the hospital bed to rest, and Judy sat beside her, holding Lilly's hand tightly.
"Mrs. Dean is fine. Don't worry too much." Dominic reassured Judy.
Judy nodded. "Is Jenna working here? Can you please not put her in charge of Grandma? NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Dominic's face darkened slightly. "I'll handle this. You don't have to worry."
After saying this, he immediately turned and walked out.
Jenna was still waiting outside. When she saw Dominic, she immediately stepped forward to explain, "Dominic, it's not what you think! She pushed me first."
Dominic's face darkened, and he revealed a rare cold expression. "Jenna, what did you say to Judy and Mrs. Dean? Do you think everyone else is deaf?"
There were other patients in the ward. The truth could be revealed with just a few inquiries.
Jenna's face turned pale. The arrangement to work in the hospital by Clark had been too easy, so much so that she had just gotten carried away and only wanted to give Judy a warning.
Who would have thought that it would turn out like this?
But seeing the way Dominic defended Judy, Jenna felt a surge of anger. She gritted her teeth and said, "Dominic, why are you so protective of her? Don't forget that she is your sister-in-law."
Dominic remained composed. "This is a hospital. She is a family member of the patient. What you're saying is irrelevant."
Jenna was speechless. In her frustration, she stomped her feet. "I'll tell Mdm. Hebert!" After saying that, she ran off in a huff.
Dominic stood in the hallway impatiently, frowning as he watched Jenna's retreating figure.
The two daughters of the Blake family were so different. Judy couldn't even afford Lilly's medical expenses. So it was imaginable how much hardships she had suffered since childhood.
Speaking of Judy, after coaxing Lilly to rest, she followed Dominic to his clinic to treat the wound.
Judy scraped her ankle when Jenna pushed her. Though the bleeding had stopped and wasn't a big deal, Dominic insisted on taking care of it.
"Okay, avoid contact with water for the next few days."
"Thank you." Judy wrote the words and handed them over.
As Dominic looked at the elegant handwriting in Judy's notebook, he suddenly asked, "I heard from Mrs. Dean that you weren't born mute. Have you ever thought of getting it treated?"
Judy was slightly startled and shook her head. She was indeed not born mute. The fire that year had damaged her vocal cords.
The doctor had assured her that it was treatable, but years had passed, and she realized she missed the optimal window for treatment.
Moreover, she could not afford the medical expenses, so she had never considered it.
"Don't worry, I'll tell you about this later. Is your back injured too? Let me take a look."
At this moment, the door of the clinic where Dominic worked remained slightly ajar. No one noticed that there was a phone that happened to snap a picture of both of them.
With a "click", a scene that was easily misunderstood was captured.
