The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning

Chapter 1098

Chapter 1098

Madelyn thought, ‘If the wedding doesn’t proceed smoothly, Zach won’t spare Blake. For him, dealing with her would be like crushing an ant.’

“As long as she does her job well, I won’t let her efforts go unrewarded,” Zach said with a mix of

gentleness and a threatening undertone.

Then, he changed the subject. “Come downstairs and try the pasta I’ve cooked.”

“No, I’m not in the mood,” Madelyn replied.

She thought, ‘Zach, no one can tell what the future holds.’

Recently, Zach had started doing unusual things, like cooking meals for Madelyn, including different kinds

of pasta. They tasted decent enough, even quite good. Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

“Think you can leave? You believe you can escape from me?” Zach said playfully. He suddenly pulled Madelyn toward him, lifting her off her feet and carrying her downstairs.

At the dining table, the servants presented different pastas in front of Madelyn.

Madelyn sat awkwardly on Zach’s lap and struggled slightly. “Let me down.”

Zach held Madelyn tightly by the waist and said, “Stay like this. I’ll feed you.”

Madelyn glared at him, but it had no effect on Zach. Instead, it amused him.

The servants then brought a plate of boiled shrimp.

“Eat the pasta first, then the shrimp. I’ll peel them for you,” Zach suggested.

Madelyn tried the seafood pasta and thought it tasted surprisingly good, almost as good as those from

restaurants.

Zach fed Madelyn half the pasta, asking her to save room for the shrimp he would peel for her by hand.

After the third shrimp, Madelyn felt full. She said, “I can’t eat anymore. I’ll get fat.”

Zach had oily hands as Madelyn got up from his lap. She said, “Use less oil in the pasta in the future. Too

much of it isn’t healthy.”

Zach wiped his fingers and remarked, “A little weight gain wouldn’t be bad.”

“I’m going upstairs.” Madelyn retorted and left upstairs.

A maid approached Zach with a cordless phone. “Sir, Ms. Young is on the line for you.”

Zach took the phone and said coldly, “What?”

Frida got straight to the point. “I have a shipment that only your people can handle.”

Zach stepped outside, lighting a cigarette. He asked, “Shouldn’t you be more concerned about hiding right now? Have you forgotten my previous warning?”

Frida angrily responded, “All the troubles I’m facing right now are because of you. You think I don’t know what you did to my company? Your so-called collaborations with YTCorp are worthless. Do you have any idea how expensive Yvonne’s medical bills are?”

“How dare you bring this up with me?” Zach asked.

“Zach, let me remind you, Yvonne’s condition is partially your fault. If she doesn’t recover, I won’t let you

off,” said Frida.

Zach discarded his cigarette, his hand in his pocket, staring at the greenhouse being repaired in the distance. It was being rebuilt after the fire and they were aiming to have it completed before the wedding. The flowers were being imported from abroad, but it would take some time.

He smirked, “That depends on what the Young family’s capable of now.”

Meanwhile, Madelyn had just completed her draft in the studio. She stood up and stretched, easing her

stiff neck as she gazed out at the night sky.
