Chapter 10 The Scumbag Arrives
James thought he misheard until he met the man’s chilling gaze. Only then did he regain his senses.
How could he forget the man before him was the feared kingpin of the business world, capable of
crushing him with just a flick of his finger?
Although reluctant, James pursed his lips and dared not speak again.
Henry seemed not ready to let it go so easily. “Mr. Taylor, do you remember what you said when I got
married? Have you forgotten? Need me to remind you?”
James asked for an additional two million, then he promised that his daughter would have nothing to do
with him anymore.
“People who don’t keep their promises must pay the price.”
Henry’s voice pressed down on James, leaving him breathless.
He narrowed his eyes, and slowly approached Evelyn. With one hand, he encircled her slender waist,
softly asking, “Are you cold?”
“Not cold.”
Henry gave them a cold glance, pulled the girl’s hand, and headed towards the exit. When they
reached the door, he paused. He made a call, said, “Cancel all cooperation between The Wilson Group
and The Taylor family. All of it!”
“Henry, you can’t…” James chased after them, but they were already far away.

The Taylor family relied on The Wilson Group’s support for the past few months. If Henry stopped
cooperation, The Taylor family wouldn’t survive even a month.
Ethan and Shirley also realized that the situation had escalated.
Mia gritted her teeth, her mind filled with memories of Henry’s tenderness towards Evelyn just now. She
didn’t like Henry, but she couldn’t stand seeing another man caring for the b*itch, especially a man at
the top of power and wealth.
‘That damn slut, she didn’t deserve it!’

From the moment Henry led Evelyn into the elevator, her eyes remained fixated on their intertwined
fingers.
His hands were long and fair, not at all like a man’s hands, yet holding them let her feel surprisingly
secure.
As if Evelyn’s gaze was too intense, Henry turned to look at her. His eyes, still icy.
“Henry…” Evelyn tiptoed and whispered in his ear, “Has anyone told you that you look handsome when
you seriously look at me?”
A faint breeze brushed past his ear, and Henry was momentarily stunned, without a reply.
At this moment, his eyes, heart, and mind were all filled with the girl’s eyes, beautifully colorful. He
remembered the girl’s appearance in bed-her smooth and delicate skin, the tears in the corners of her
eyes during the cl*im*ax. He couldn’t help but lick his lips involuntarily.
Seeing that he hadn’t spoken but showed no signs of anger, Evelyn finally felt relieved.
“You don’t know how you looked when you rushed in to save me just now, like a heavenly god
descending. But…”
The man finally spoke. “But what?”
“The door broke, or I would have moved it back home, as a memento.”
Henry furrowed his brow. “A memento?”
“Of course, a memento of your gallant rescue.”
Evelyn relaxed, her hand unintentionally sliding onto the man’s arm as she clung to him, becoming
unusually intimate.
Henry’s spine subtly stiffened. He was afraid he couldn’t control himself and stripped her in the
elevator.
These past few days, he had sensed the changes in the girl but found it somewhat unreal, like finally
getting a cake you’ve longed for only to feel the cream on top is unrealistically sweet.
As they walked into the underground parking lot, the atmospheric pressure around them instantly
dropped.
‘What’s going on? Everything was fine just now.’
Evelyn raised her eyes and almost cursed.
Damn it!
William, the scumbag, had arrived, choosing to park his car ten meters away.
This was a trick they used in their previous dates, and Henry was undoubtedly aware of it.
Watching Henry’s lips turn into a scornful, mocking smile, Evelyn felt like dying.
She had just felt Henry’s expression soften. If she had known she would be so unlucky to run into this
scumbag, she wouldn’t have come to the hospital.
William in the car also noticed the two of them.
He didn’t come by chance. He received a text from Mia, specifically coming here to confront Evelyn.
Evelyn suddenly stopped answering the phone. How could he be at ease, especially right before the
auction of The Wilson Group’s land?
He got out of the car, smiling as he called, “Evelyn.”
In the past, William wouldn’t dare to be so presumptuous in front of Henry, but with Evelyn around,
even if he did something excessive, Henry wouldn’t dare touch him.
Before she could react, Evelyn felt her wrist was caught, steadily tightening.
Her hand felt as if they were being crushed.
With tears in her eyes, the poor girl looked at Henry, saying, “It hurts.”
