Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Edgar frowned. He had never said that he wanted to abandon her. He wondered how she got such an idea.
What she had said puzzled him. Just as he was about to catch up with her and make it clear, someone grabbed his trouser leg from behind.
“Edgar, I know I was wrong.”
On the ground, Nancy raised her pitiful, tender face and explained gently, saying, “I’m just afraid… afraid that you will really fall in love with Grace during the three years I’m away. I’m afraid that you won’t want me.”
Frowning, Edgar lowered his head and saw her slightly swollen cheeks. His eyes flickered slightly.
He reached out to help her up, saying a little gently, “I told you that I would marry you. Divorcing Grace is just a matter of time. You’re in too much of a hurry now.”
Nancy grabbed his sleeve and pouted, saying, “It’s all my fault, but I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I just used it the wrong way. Edgar, please forgive me!”
Seeing that he didn’t say anything else, she leaned weakly into his arms and tentatively revealed her fair shoulders.
Narrowing his eyes, Edgar pushed her away subconsciously.
“Edgar!”
Nancy’s eyes were redder, and she stared at him with resentment, wondering why he was so resistant to her now.
She couldn’t accept it.
Grace had been intimate with him last night, but she couldn’t even get close to him and
sound him out.
“Enough.”
Grabbing her hand, Edgar narrowed his eyes indifferently and looked at her oddly.
“Nan, I never thought that you would use these methods and say those sarcastic words. You used to be very simple.”
Nancy was stunned before realizing that she had indeed pis s e d him off this time.
Edgar was a man of principle. Once she crossed the line, she would only make him hate her
even more.
“It’s not like that! I’m sorry, I really know I was wrong. I was just confused. I won’t dare to do it again. Edgar, for the sake of the fact that I saved you many years ago, please give me a chance to correct my mistake.”
At the mention of what had happened many years ago, Edgar thought of the determined look in her bright eyes. She was so petite, but she stood up to protect him.
He decided that he would forget it.

Gradually looking gentle, he said, “Let’s pretend that nothing happened. Don’t do it again in the future.”
As if greatly relieved, Nancy was about to act like a spoiled child in front of him. Then she saw him hold out his palm in front of her.
“Give me the key.”
Her face stiffened. Just as she was about to defend herself, Edgar interrupted her and said, “I know that it was Tim who gave you the key to the villa without permission. Take it out.”
Tim, his assistant, had worked for him for many years.
Seeing that he had guessed correctly, Nancy had no choice but to reluctantly hand over the key.
“Don’t come to this villa again. I’ll arrange a new place for you as soon as possible. You’re tired today. Go back to the hotel and have a rest.”
Before she could say anything, Edgar asked the driver to send her back. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
After she left, Tim, who was standing in the garden, carefully walked into the living room and stood in front of Edgar, waiting to be lectured.
Edgar looked over and said gravely, “When it comes to my business, it’s not up to you to decide what to do. If there’s a next time, you’re out here.”
“Yes.”
Edgar pulled his tie irritably and took a drag on his cigarette, but the look in Grace’s eyes before she left flashed across his mind.
She had looked indifferent and dazzling.
He thought, “Could it be that she insisted on divorcing because she had been wrongly accused this time?
“She even pretended to be tough and didn’t ask for a penny. Did she really think that she could survive without money?”
He didn’t want to care about her at all, but he felt suffocated, feeling angry and uncomfortable for no reason. Then he said, “Send someone to find Grace. Report to me as soon as you find her. Moreover, transfer this villa to her as compensation for the divorce.”
“Yes.”
After finding the address of the Angle Group on the Internet, Grace took a taxi there with her luggage.
Since she had promised to take over the company, she should learn about the situation right away and complete the handover procedures as soon as possible.
After arriving at the company, she went up to the receptionist and said, “Inform your current president that I want to see him.”
The receptionist was stunned on the spot as she sized up Grace from head to toe. Although Grace was pretty, her clothes were not worth more than 30 dollars. In the receptionist’s opinion, it was shameless of her to ask to see the president!

“Do you have an appointment?”
Grace shook her head, saying, “No.”
Hearing this, the receptionist almost laughed out loud. She then said, “How dare you come to the Angle Group to make a scene without an appointment? You’re such a good-for-nothing! Don’t you know your place?”
Her harsh and unpleasant words made Grace frown as she asked, “Is this how you usually treat guests?”
