Chapter 62 - The Unwelcome Heir
Chapter 62 - The Unwelcome Heir
"Marco, why did you invite us to a place like this? Just how important is Arthur to our family? Didn't you
kick him out of the Brown Company? How could that stupid and scummy brat have given you such a
beating?"
A plump man wearing a blue suit, looking to be in his 50s, sitting on a seat at the auto racing track
stadium. Next to him was a woman who was several years younger than him, also sitting with two
waiters who raised their umbrellas to cover them from the cold air.
“Daddy, Mommy…. You see, I'm going to humiliate Arthur even more today. I challenged him to a car
race and unbeknownst to him I had hired two professional racers to help me. Ha ha ha ha."
Marco then answered with a proud and confident face, showing off what he was going to do to Arthur
that day.
Adam and Kora Hester were the parents of Marco Hester. Adam was also the younger brother of
Arthur's father, who had been disowned by the family.
Adam was wary that Arthur might still receive an inheritance in the future, so he constantly did
whatever he could to put Arthur under pressure and make sure he was unable to fight for his rights.

on Brandon's heart. Now, as Brandon was getting older and nearing his departure from this world,
Adam wouldn't stay silent if there was anything that could improve Arthur's situation.
Adam then stood up, his chubby body tense with irritation. "Is it true what you said that Arthur was the
reason you wasted your money a few weeks ago?" he asked with a scowl.
"Tsk!" He shook his head in disbelief. "What you said is a complete joke, Marco. How can someone like
Arthur even be betting money with you? Do you really think he just won the lottery and became wealthy
overnight? I'm sure he's just playing games to take advantage of your situation," he added disdainfully.
"Daddy, don't worry," Marco said with a sharp look and a faint smile. "I'll challenge Arthur to a bet today
and make sure he'll be back on the street after this car race. Plus, I'll make sure to snatch up the pretty
girl he was with at the time."
"Didn't you say you just got a girl pregnant?" Adam asked, looking curious. "What's her name? Arthur's
ex-fiancé. Where did that girl go?"
"That bitch? She only wanted my money," Marco replied with a smirk, "so I gave her some and happily
left her. Hahaha... At least that money was enough for her to terminate the pregnancy. Moreover, I just
wanted her to make Arthur mad and give me a bit of consolation since she's pretty good looking, but
she can really bore me quickly."
He then added, remembering a girl who came with Arthur. "Edna, that's the one I really wanted. She
had a beauty that couldn't even be compared to Linda."
"You should be careful, Marco," Kora, Marco's mother, then said. "You have to make sure the girl
aborts the womb, lest she uses the pregnancy as an excuse to ask for our treasure. Plus, are you really
that stupid to get a girl pregnant? At least play it safe, and only give your seed to the best girl who will
make our family wealthier. Don't ever give hope to a poor girl. We don't want Hester's family to fall into
ruin just because you chose the wrong partner."
"If I can get Edna," Marco thought to himself, "I can use her to get even more wealth. She has such
perfect features that I could make her into a supermodel or celebrity. Once she has achieved a higher
status, I'll be able to proudly make her my wife, and she'll be the right person to be the main heir of the
Hester family."
Hearing Marco's words, Adam looked a little doubtful. "What kind of power does that brat Arthur
possess that he can attract someone as beautiful as Edna? Is he simply trying to show off with his
wealth? Let's get this bet over with soon, so Arthur can be brought down to the abyss, and he won't be
able to show his face in front of our family again," he said impatiently.
Marco waited a few more minutes, becoming increasingly annoyed that Arthur hadn't shown up. "Tsk,"
he muttered, shaking his head in annoyance. "Did he chicken out and run away from my challenge?"
At that moment, from the entrance of the circuit, several cars could be seen slowly winding their way in,
and the one at the front of the line was a car that Marco recognized as a limited edition model that was
the only one in town.
"Who are they?!" Adam then stood stunned as he watched the four cars all drive in, each of them a
limited edition. Moreover, he was amazed at the car at the front, the Bugatti La Voiture Parfaite – one of
only five ever made worldwide.
"Are they your friends Marco? Have you invited any other wealthy people to this circuit? I know that
someone who can afford that car is definitely not just anyone. The owner must be one of the wealthiest
men in Southlake or possibly even one of The Underworld leaders."
As the luxury car pulled up to Marco, someone stepped out of the driver's door: Arthur. He then walked
up to the passenger side and opened the door, helping a young blonde girl, Edna, out of the car. Then,
with Edna by his side, her arm wrapped around his left arm, Arthur walked towards Marco.
"Forgive me for being late, Mr. Marco," he said in a flat tone. "I hope you haven't lost your appetite for
taking on my car race today."
"What an asshole!" Adam fumed, his face contorting in fury as he glared at Arthur. "Do you really think
I'm going to be taken in by your fake wealth look, you stupid brat?"
"Ah..." Arthur stammered, taken aback by Adam's sudden, unexpected outburst.
He quickly recomposed himself and offered an apology. "I apologize; I didn't realize it was you, Mr.
Adam Hester. It's a pleasure to meet you today."
