The Imposter Bride (Natalia and Magnus)

Chapter 321

Chapter 321

Callum was always straight to the point, never one to hide or deny the truth. He nodded at Natalia.

"Indeed, Natalia, I'm here for this lass. She feigned a stomachache and vanished from my mansion,

making me search high and low for her. Today, I finally found her."

Natalia was taken aback by the day's events. She could not fathom that Callum was the one who had

imprisoned Lexi, a fact that was hard to swallow. "Cal, Lexi told me she was held captive. Was it you

who imprisoned her?"

A hint of embarrassment surfaced on Callum's face, but he nodded unabashedly. "Yes, I was the one

who did it."

"Why? Cal, why would you do such a thing? Lexi is one of my best friends in this world. Why would you

do such a thing to her?" Natalia found it hard to believe that the ever-charming Cal could do such a

thing.

Callum looked at Natalia, speaking with sincerity, "Buttercup, it all started the night you rejected me.

Heartbroken, I drank heavily and mistook Lexi for you."

she reconciled with Magnus? She thought back to the note she had found in her room, which she

assumed had been left by Lexi. "So, was the note in my room actually written by you?"

Callum nodded. "Yes, fearing she would tell you and incur your disdain, I kidnapped her and stashed

her away in my mansion."

"Cal, I'm disappointed in you," Natalia whispered, the disappointment clear on her face. She hugged

the silent Lexi, feeling heartbroken. "Lexi, I'm sorry I didn't know what happened to you. If I had known

the trip to France would have such serious consequences, I wouldn't have invited you to stay with me.

I'm so sorry."

Lexi shook her head silently. It was all a series of unfortunate events, and Natalia wasn't to blame.

Callum watched the girls hug each other, then said, "Buttercup, after I imprisoned Lexi, I didn't harm

her. I just restricted her freedom. But over time, I became attracted to her personality and realized what

a wonderful girl she is. It wasn't until she escaped from my mansion that I realized I couldn't live without

her. I think I'm in love with her."

"Really? Is it because you fell in love with me? Or because you're unwilling to let go of the child in my

womb?" Lexi scoffed. "Callum, I am a free citizen, entitled to my rights and equality, not a plaything for

your amusement! Keep your cheap love, I don't need it!"

Callum paled at Lexi's words and quickly moved closer to her. "You're right, it's all my fault. I've been

too overbearing. But you're pregnant now, so please don't get upset, it's not good for your health."

Hearing these words, even Natalia was stunned. Yes, Cal was always gentle and charming, but she

had never seen him speak so tenderly before.

"Stay away from me! I never want to see you again! I want to go home. I want to see my parents!" Lexi

cried, her tears falling freely.

"Alright, alright, we'll do as you say. I just ask that you don't get upset, alright?" Callum comforted her,

looking like he was placating a petulant child.

Lexi cried harder, wiping away her tears. "No, I had already escaped from you. How did you find me?

Leave. I don't want to see you!"

Lexi had never planned to tell Natalia that she was carrying Callum's child because she hadn't yet

figured out what to say. But now, Callum had not only barged in but had shamelessly spilled everything

to Natalia, making her feel utterly humiliated.

"Okay, okay, I'll go. I'll wait outside until you calm down, alright?" Callum said, soothing Lexi as he

headed for the door.

"Stop!" Lexi called out through her sobs. Callum immediately halted and turned around. "What is it,

Lexi?"

Lexi asked, "How did you find me?"

Callum revealed a set of white teeth in a grin, pointing at the hairpin Lexi was wearing. "It's simple,

really. I had someone tinker with your hairpin. No matter where you go, a satellite can pinpoint your

location. For some reason, the signal has been poor the past few days, and I couldn't locate you

accurately. When the signal finally came back today, I rushed over immediately."

Lexi removed the hairpin, examining it closely. On the inside of the crystal hairpin was a tiny black dot,

presumably the tracker Callum had someone install.

"You're despicable for installing a tracker in my hairpin without my knowledge!" Lexi was livid, throwing

the hairpin at Callum.

Callum caught the hairpin effortlessly, grinning shamelessly. "Of course, this way, I can ensure your

safety better, can't I?"

"Get out!" Lexi was on the verge of losing her temper. Callum had grown increasingly brazen, and was

always wearing a playful grin. Where was the cold and ruthless Callum she had first met?

"Alright!" Callum nodded repeatedly, marching out of the room with exaggerated footsteps.

Once Callum had left, Natalia finally had a moment alone with Lexi. She looked at the agitated Lexi and

asked softly, "Lexi, tell me, do you really want to leave Cal?"

Lexi darted her gaze downward, a hint of evasion in her eyes. "Well, of course," she muttered. "Why

else would I have gone through all the trouble to escape?"

Natalia gave a soft, gentle laugh. "Lexi, look at you now, acting all like a sulky child. I'm sorry for

everything you've been through, but I could clearly see the affection in your eyes when you were

looking at Cal. You like him, don't you?"
