The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 251

Chapter 251

"We've found a clue to Miss Mason's disappearance, but..."

The message was sent by Damian, but he didn't make it clear.

Chloe's face darkened. As soon as Meredith's name appeared, she suddenly had the urge to smash

the phone in her hand.

Why was this woman omnipresent?

She was practically everywhere in her life, but... what did Damian mean by disappearance?

Was Derek being strange because she was missing?

Chloe's heart was filled with jealousy. Sure enough, Derek hadn't moved on completely. Missing?

Maybe that woman had planed this herself to sabotage their engagement ceremony.

Thinking about it, Chloe replied, "Don't butt in this anymore. I'll take care of it."

After sending it, Chloe immediately deleted it so that no one would know she had done this.

It took Damian a long time before he decided to report it. If it was reported, it might affect Derek's

engagement and his own future.

But he couldn't just sit back and watch Meredith suffer.

Seeing Derek's reply, Damian thought that he might already know the truth, so he decided to stay out of

this. After all, the person who kidnapped Meredith was from the Xaviers. This was a family matter, and

he could not interfere more.

After Chloe had done all these things, she went downstairs as if nothing had happened.

Derek had already sat down at the table. When he saw her coming, he asked, "Why are you so late?"

Chloe felt a little guilty and didn't know if Damian would report it, but as long as she could hide it from

Derek after the engagement ceremony was held, everything would be easier.

As long as she and Derek got engaged, she could keep this man.

"Nothing. I fixed my makeup."

Chloe smiled and walked gracefully to the dining table, her expression the same as usual.

Derek glanced at her and felt something was wrong with this woman, but since he had no interest in

her, he just looked away.

...

Meredith stood by the sea and looked at the place where the blue sky and sea intersected, but her

eyes were not focused at all.

This was an island that the Xaviers had bought to develop a holiday base. The scenery here was as

good as anywhere else. She could see the cleanest sky and the bluest sea, but she was not in the

mood to appreciate it. She just looked at the waves in the distance, her hands on her belly. She

couldn't help but clenched her fist.

Her knuckles were a little white because of too much force, but Meredith seemed she didn't notice it at

all.

She had been here for three days.

It was so desolate here that she could see none other than the Xaviers, and there was nothing but the

vast sea.

It was as if the whole world was against her, and she was the only one who was waiting for the hope

that might or might not appear.

She was about to give up

Meredith's eyes grew darker and darker. She tried to persuade the women who were guarding her, to

ask them to understand her difficulties as a mother, hoping that someone would be soft-hearted, but

they had no reactions at all, let alone release her.

"Miss Mason, we're just doing what we're told. If anything goes wrong with you, we will be doomed, so

you'd better get rid of those thoughts."

Meredith's despair deepened as she thought about what these people had replied. She even

remembered the days when she was grounded by Derek at his house. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

First Derek, then his mother, then the Xaviers. They all had no respect for her.

What did she do to get involved with these robbers?

"Miss Mason, you seem a little unstable. You should go back to your room and have a good rest."

The doctor's indifferent voice rang out.

Meredith did not say a word. Although she knew that they were doing as told, she could not help feeling

resentful to them.

Without them, she would not be here, as a captive animal.

Therefore, she refused to say a word to these people now. This was her way to show her resistance.

"Miss Mason, even if you don't speak, we won't soften up. But if you keep standing in the wind, you'll

catch a cold."

Then another guard came over with a coat. "Since you don't want to go back, please put on your coat."

The doctor stood there respectfully with a coat in his hand and said nothing more.

Meredith's eyes fell on the dress. It was a cashmere coat that looked very expensive and exquisitely

made. Without touching it, she knew it was a luxury that she would never buy.

However, she did not appreciate it. She just stood there and did not make any movements.

"Miss Mason, you're making things difficult for us. You don't want to go back and refuse to put on your

clothes. But if you catch a cold, you and the baby in your belly, and... your mother will suffer."

Meredith's eyes flashed. "Don't you think it's too shameless to say such things? Are you still a doctor

that puts patients first?"

Now, these people scared her with the baby in her belly and threatened her with her mother who was

still in the hospital. Did they have no shame?

"I'm just thinking about your baby."

The doctor said coldly. His face was expressionless and he was like a robot.

Meredith turned around. Seeing that she was silent, the doctor called the maid to put her clothes on.

Meredith did not resist and let the maid put her clothes on like an unconscious doll.

Seeing that she was finally wearing a coat, the doctor called the maid again. "It's almost time, Miss

Mason. You should have the nutritious meal for this afternoon."

Meredith shook her head wearily. "I don't feel like eating."

How could she be in the mood for a nutritious meal if she was locked up like this every day?

"Even if you have no appetite, you have to eat. Yesterday's examination showed that you still lack

some nutrients. If you don't eat, it will be bad for the child."

As he spoke, the servants came over and placed a few carefully prepared nutritious dishes.

On the plate was a cake with fruit and nuts. All the ingredients were carefully selected and cooked to

ensure nutrition and taste.

"If you don't eat it, the chef's efforts will be wasted."

Meredith was so annoyed by him that she picked up a spoon and took a bite. It tasted really good. The

food here was made strictly according to her taste. Every dish was delicious.

But Meredith never enjoyed it. "Doctor, you don't think I'm like an animal now? When it's time, you can

kill me, take what you want, and I have no value."
