The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 209

Chapter 209

"You must be lying." Meredith was suddenly speechless to Derek.

He flew back to J City for a few hours yesterday, but he hadn't rested yet. Did he treat his body as iron?

"Get some rest. I'm going to the hospital to take care of mom."

Meredith urged. Derek looked at the message she sent, smiled, and sent a voice message. "Are you

concerned about me?"

Meredith clicked the voice message, and the man's deep, magnetic voice came into her ears with a

somewhat hoarse voice. It made her feel numb, and her body trembled. Then, she quickly typed, "Yes,

now you should go to bed."

Derek could guess what Meredith was like just by imagining it. He thought she should have blushed

already, but she always refused to admit that she was clearly concerned. This woman was really of

duplicity.

However, he did not hate this kind of duplicity but felt her a little cute.

"Okay. I'll go rest. Don't get too tired at the hospital. Let those people help you."

Meredith smiled back. Coincidentally, Damian came up to ask her for breakfast, so she put away her

phone and went downstairs to eat.

Derek specially invited a nutritionist to make nutritious meals for Meredith every day. After she had

eaten, Damian accompanied her to the hospital.

When Meredith reached the place, she asked Damian to do his own things. Although Damian was with

her now, Derek still had a lot of things and he needed Damian's help, so she didn't want to waste

Damian's time.

After Damian left, Meredith sat in the inpatient ward and started wiping her mother's face and hands as

she did every day.

Although she had been told many times that she didn't need to do the work herself, Meredith insisted

on doing it herself, which gave her a sense of reality that she was taking care of her mother.

The day passed in a blink of an eye.

Meredith stayed here until evening to get home, and not long after she got home, Derek called.

The two of them talked for a while. Although they could not meet, their feelings were not diluted at all.

"In a few days, I'll come to you after I've finished my work."

Derek looked at the schedule in his hand. Now, it was difficult to find Meredith alone, so he had to

arrange a meeting abroad in Meredith's city.

He arranged this business trip so that he could drop by so as not to arouse suspicion from his family.

"Okay, I got it." When Meredith heard that he was coming to find her, her heart was sweet.

...

The next morning, Meredith went to the hospital to see her mother as usual.

Just as she was doing her routine nursing work, someone knocked on the door. "You are Miss Mason,

Meredith, aren't you?"

A young man with glasses walked in. "I'm a professional massager sent by Mr. Xavier."

That being said, the man flashed a meaningful smile after introducing himself.

Meredith didn't pay much attention. Hearing what he said, she quickly stood up and wiped her hands.

"Did he send you here?"

The man nodded. "I made the plan for Mr. Xavier's recovery, so he asked me to come here and help

you."

When Meredith heard this, a smile appeared on her face. Derek had been in the hospital bed for

several years and was still in good health because of the meticulous care of the Xaviers.

Meredith originally wanted to ask him to find a massager, but thinking that Derek was so busy now, she

was afraid that it would be difficult for her to afford that fee, so she had to put it aside temporarily. She

did not expect that Derek had already thought of this step and helped her find this person.

That man was really more considerate than she thought.

Meredith was touched and felt sweet. She invited the man over with a smile. "Thank you for your

coming."

"You are welcome. My name is Nolan, Miss Mason. Nice to meet you."

With that said, Nolan reached out and shook hands with Meredith. When she touched his palm,

Meredith felt that there were many calluses on his hand, and she felt that they did not match his

appearance.

However, thinking that he was studying nursing, Meredith didn't think much about it. She just thought

that he was massaging patients or something that would leave such a mark.

Meredith invited him in and watched him show her mother a professional attitude. She was also a little

nervous.

Fortunately, he didn't leave any bad news either. He just said that he would go back and make an

effective recovery plan.

After Meredith sent him out, Damian happened to be back and was surprised to see a stranger in the

ward. "Miss Mason, is that your friend?"

"Xavier asked him to come here and treat my mother."

Meredith shook her head. Damian felt a little strange in his heart. Derek didn't say that he was going to

call someone over. Was this a little surprise between the two of them?

Damian thought about it, and it was possible, so he didn't ask any more questions.

...

Derek was busy working at the company when his phone rang and a few pictures appeared on the

screen.

He gripped the phone in his hand in an instant, and the blood vessels in his hand were bulging from

shock, looking absolutely terrifying.

"How could this be? How could he be here?"

Derek didn't even care about the meeting that was about to begin immediately, and his face was

extremely solemn.

Just as he was thinking about something, the phone rang. "See? You know what to do. Don't let me

down again."

Just such a simple sentence made Derek's originally deep eyes a little more confused.

A thousand miles away abroad.

In the ward, Meredith was learning how to give her mother a muscle massage from Nolan when the

phone rang and interrupted the two of them.

Meredith glanced at it. It was Derek. She made a gesture, walked out, and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Where are you now?"

Derek's voice seemed very different from usual. It was a tone that Meredith had never heard before.

Anxious, not as calm and indifferent as usual, it was like a different person.

Meredith couldn't help but wonder if Derek was in trouble.

"You, what happened to you? What's wrong?"

"Answer my question!" Derek ignored Meredith's anxious question. He just wanted to confirm one

thing.

"I'm at the hospital, with mom."

Meredith didn't know why he asked this, but Derek's tone was so grave that she had to answer.

"What else? Who else?" Derek tugged at his hair impatiently, and the feeling of uneasiness almost

engulfed him.

"There's another one who said you hired him here as a physical therapist... What's wrong? What's the

problem?"

Hearing this, Derek's eyes darkened and he clenched his fists. His agitation just now gradually calmed

down, and he looked ahead a little absent-minded.
