Chapter 193
Chapter 193
Derek looked back at Parker with his eyes telling Parker that the latter didn't dare to do anything.
Parker's eyes turned red, and in an instant, he thought of all the things that had happened to him in the
past. He was about to rush up with his fist clenched when the door was suddenly opened. It was Jenny;
she saw the scene and held Parker down immediately.
"Calm down, Parker."
If he hit Derek here, he would get in huge trouble.
Parker was held down by Jenny, calmed down, and took a few breaths. Derek sneered as if laughing at
Parker's incompetence and then walked out.
"What's going on?" Jenny watched Derek leave and said, "What did he say?"
With Derek's personality, he must have come here in person for some purposes, and he must have
done something to make Parker lose his temper.
"He sent that thing." Parker had always been frank to Jenny. He pointed at the flash drive on the table
and looked sullenly.
Jenny frowned and walked over to plug the flash drive into the computer; her face took on a ghastly
expression after she had scanned the contents in it.
There wasn't much content in it, but all of it was deadly. When Parker started to develop his career, he
took a few short cuts in the gray area. Now, he was finally about to whitewash his past; if the things he
had done were exposed, his previous efforts would be in vain!
"How did he find out about these things..." Jenny was shocked and terrified. She thought that although
there was a gap between Parker and Derek, the gap was not that large; it turned out that the Xaviers
was much more powerful than she thought.
She could never let Parker act impulsively and destroy himself and everything he had.
"Parker... Is that woman that important to you?"
Jenny couldn't help but ask.
"I owe her. I have to pay the price. Jenny, I'll take care of this myself. You should leave and don't get
involved."
Parker said firmly without hesitation. Now, he could only prepare for the worst; he didn't care if he
needed to fight Derek to death, but he could not allow Meredith to be taken away by another man while
he himself was again helpless.
Jenny clenched her fist and her long nails cut through her palms. She was moved by the fact that
Parker still cared about her under the circumstances, and she was more certain that she would not let
Parker act impulsively.
Although Jenny knew it was unfair to Meredith, she could not watch the man she loved to bring
destruction on himself.
Not long after, the assistant ran in and said there was about to have a meeting. After Parker left, Jenny
left as well. Instead of following Parker's instruction to go abroad as soon as possible, she went to
Xavier Group.
"I want to see your president. I have news of Meredith."
Jenny only said that to the front desk, and soon she was invited upstairs.
Derek stood by the window and looked down at the busy street when Jenny knocked on the door and
walked in, "Mr. Xavier, I have news about Meredith."
Derek looked back and didn't seem surprised to see her, "Go ahead."
"Before I say anything, I hope you can promise me that once you know her whereabouts, don't delve
into Parker's past anymore and let him off."
"Why do you think you can negotiate with me?"
Derek hated being threatened the most in his life, and this woman didn't seem to know who was in
charge.
"I know where Meredith is. It's not a big deal for me to kill her if I want. Parker has feelings for her, but I
don't. I can't wait for her to disappear..."
Jenny said calmly, but her words were the exact opposite of her beautiful appearance.
Anger grew in Derek's eyes. He already knew the relationship between Parker and the woman in front
of him. This woman was not simple; she had worked for a lot of mob bosses and was always able to
get away with it.
She was indeed able to do what she had just said.
Derek hesitated for a moment, "Okay, I agree."
Jenny relaxed a little from her tense mood. She was actually gambling on whether Derek really cared
about Meredith and wanted her back or he just wanted to seek revenge.
Now it seemed that he was not completely hating Meredith. Knowing this, Jenny felt less guilty.
"This is the place Parker arranged for her. You'd better find her as soon as possible. Otherwise, she
might be sent abroad in a few days."
Derek took the paper and didn't speak again. Jenny didn't want to stay here, so she left directly. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Derek looked at the address on the paper, a flicker of rage in his cold eyes.
"Meredith, you can't escape from me after all." He thought to himself.
......
Meredith had been hiding in Parker's house ever since she escaped. She didn't know what was going
on outside, so she could only wait anxiously. However, she had been feeling flustered and having a bad
feeling since just now.
Just as she was thinking, there was a knock on the door.
It was already late at night, and Meredith was on tenterhooks all of a sudden. She walked over gently
and asked, "Who is it? Parker, is that you?"
Derek turned gloomier when he heard that name. It was so late, and Meredith was still waiting for
Parker, how soulful she was!
"Have you forgotten my voice?" Derek said coldly, and his eyes were filled with anger.
Meredith's eyes widened. Although she knew Derek would definitely find her, how could he be so fast?
She immediately took out her cell phone and called Parker, but she still couldn't reach him out of
several attempts.
What exactly happened?
"What did you... do to him?"
Fear surged in Meredith. Did something happen to Parker because of her? In that case, she would feel
guilty for the rest of her life.
Hearing that Meredith was still thinking about the other man, Derek almost lost his patience. "What do
you think I would do to him? Do you run away over and over again just for this kind of man? You really
have a bad taste."
Meredith clenched her fists and felt a sharp pain that wakened her, but she was helpless. She ran to
the window and found that there were people outside who had blocked all the way; even if she had
wings, she had no way out.
How... could this be?
Meredith felt like she was a prey that was cornered, and Derek was the hunter.
Seeing that Meredith was not willing to compromise, Derek's smile became even colder, "Do you think
everything will be fine if you run away? Don't you want to know where your mother is? Can you rest
assured that I won't be angry at her for all your actions?"
Derek's words, like a thunderbolt, made Meredith speechless. She did not expect him to threaten her
with her mother.
