The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 140

Chapter 140

Meredith hesitated for a while and opened the door.

The appearance of Derek's here really surprised her.

As soon as the door was open, Derek squarely walked in without asking permission and frowned at the

small one-bedroom where he had once been.

Meredith was really weird. She had been offered an apartment to live in before, but she chose to stay

in such a shabby neighborhood.

"What are you doing here?"

Meredith watched the young master strut into the room.

Derek didn't even take off his shoes, which, in a few seconds, made the just cleaned floor dirty. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

She wanted to complain about this, but when Meredith saw the man holding a box that smelled of

delicious food in his hand, she held back.

Was Derek here to bring her something to eat?

Thinking of this, Meredith suddenly felt very incredible.

Derek glanced at Meredith, who was standing in amazement aside, and said, "Come and eat."

Just now, he realized that they had not had a good dinner because of the unexpected interruption.

So Derek just came over.

"You can eat your dinner, but don't bother to..."

Derek was now under first-rate care in the Xaviers. If anyone found out that he ran out of the hospital

just to bring food for Meredith who was able-bodied, Violet would be extremely furious and tear the skin

off Meredith.

"It's all here. You still want to refuse?"

Derek cast a glimpse at her and put the food on the table. "I haven't had my dinner, either. Let's eat

together."

Knowing that Derek didn't want to obey what she had said, Meredith judiciously shut her mouth, walked

over, took out the food, and arranged them one by one.

She was a little surprised when looking at it.

Unexpectedly, Derek bought all the food according to her taste. Meredith did not remember that she

has once told Derek what she liked to eat.

When at the Xaviers, she was trying every means to avoid talking. Right then, it was much better for

Meredith to have something to eat. Being picky? Impossible.

"How do you know..."

"Didn't you order these last time we went to dinner?"

Derek took a glance at Meredith disapprovingly as if he were repelled by her unnecessary questions.

He just saw what Meredith ordered last time and remembered it. Now it proved absolutely right.

"..."

Meredith heard what Derek has said, whose tone was as usual, but whose concern was clearly shown

through a few words and excited her a little.

She had always believed that no one else in the world, except her mother and Julius who was abroad,

would care so much about her and remember her taste.

Meredith didn't expect Derek to be such a thoughtful and considerate man.

Meredith refrained from the tears in her eyes and kept her head down to hide them. Then she wiped

her face and pretended that her eyes were smarting from the vapors. Then, she scooped up a bowl of

soup and put it in front of Derek as if nothing had happened. Meredith said, "Come and eat. You may

rest assured that it won't be too salty to drink this time."

Derek raised his eyebrow. The last time when Mer had added some material into the soup particularly

for Derek, he was really impressed.

The two of them just sat face to face, very quietly, with merely the sound of bowls and chopsticks

colliding gently. No one made a deliberate conversation and feel embarrassed at all, just silently

enjoying this rare peace.

Meredith was rarely better off with a good appetite. These days, the early morning sickness had

lessened a lot, and as a result, she had a much better appetite than before.

Derek noted that she moved her chopsticks very often, and he felt warm either.

Just then, Meredith's smartphone on the table suddenly rang. She was stunned for a moment before

she remembered who was calling. Anyway, this call could not be heard by Derek. "I'm going out to

answer the phone."
