Chapter 1649
In reality, what Frank was doing was clown behavior to Kairo and the other Draconian traditional medicine apprentices.. After all, he did not even know the basic idea of when a soup's effects were best and was instead trying to show off.
It was embarrassing, and Kairo was quietly shaking his head-he had certainly misjudged Frank by thinking earlier that he was skilled.
Mole Cricks the black-robed elder-did not hold out much hope for Frank either.
Anyone skilled enough would know not to wait until the soup was cold, let alone wait until last because it would affect identification.
In fact, those who came to try the soup just before Frank were just here to take part for the sake of doing so, and they could barely identify a couple of the herbs used.
That was why Mole was not even interested in what Frank could do and actually only wanted it to be over with.
Still, the crowd was soon left staring in surprise as Frank did not taste the soup.
Instead, he merely leaned into the cauldron and smelled the scents within before frowning.
"Wait, what?"
Ira watched as he did so and started snickering loudly, "You can't even be bothered to pretend? Go on, write something you were being so dramatic before, so why stop here?"
Frank, however, merely stood in silence, until even Mole had enough and hurried him.
"Huh..."
Frank eventually exhaled, murmured to himself as everyone watched. "I see. Well, color me curious."
"Curious?" Ira laughed. "When you don't even know how to do a taste test properly? Quit showing off already."Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
The other participants had enough of waiting too and started snapping at Frank as well.
"Come on! Quit being all mysterious and write down your answers! Don't waste everyone's time!"
"What a laugh. Is he perhaps crazy?"
Kairo was frowning at Frank in contempt too, but Frank ignored them and calmly walked up to the
table, writing his answers on a piece of paper within half a minute
He handed it to Mole, who took the paper skeptically and stiffened when he actually got a good look.
The answers aside, Frank's handwriting alone was a magnificent piece of calligraphy, embodying both charisma and curved elegance.
No one except martial elites were capable of such refinement-forget the answers, as selling it as a calligraphy piece would still fetch a king's ransom!
Still, Mole soon composed himself and started to actually read Frank's review.
Nheless, everyone had seen his reaction. They could see that only Frank got such a reaction out of Mole, as Mole had at most glanced in surprise at Kairo's answer which got full points.
Such loss of composure left Kairo actually feeling doubtful too.
Was it possible that the kid might pull something here? He had only sniffed the broth without tasting it, but he could still discern the right herbs and the effects of the combination?
Nearby, Ira could no longer laugh.
