The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 422

Rebcca noticed Tanya's sour expression and gently tugged on her sleeve, whispering, "Mom, Maddie is just being stubborn right now. But we can handle this if we..." She leaned in and whispered something into Tanya's ear.

Tanya hesitated. "Are you sure about this? Isn't it a little too harsh?"This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

Rebecca sighed, her tone exasperated yet firm. "It's the only way to make Maddie face reality! She needs to understand that without the Locke family, she won't have the comfortable life she's enjoying now." Tanya reluctantly nodded. "If this helps her realize the truth, then so be it."

A little while later, Jordan arrived in his car. He stepped out and walked toward Madison with urgency. "Ms. Madison, what's going on?" he asked, his gaze flickering to Yara, Mia, and Jade standing beside her.

He had seen them numerous times before and knew their usual appearances. Now, seeing all three of them looking weak and disheartened-especially with talismans stuck to Yara's and Mia's foreheads-his concern deepened. "What happened to Mia?" he asked.

Madison's voice was calm. "I'll explain later. First, find us a place to stay."

At that moment, Wanda emerged from the house, pushing two small suitcases. "Ms. Locke, I didn't pack your clothes or jewelry. I just packed the basics."

Jordan blinked, confused. "Ms. Madison, what's going on?"

Yara's tone was cold as she sneered, "What do you think? We're getting kicked out."

Jordan froze. He turned toward Tanya and Rebecca, who were standing off to the side. His disbelief quickly gave way to anger. "Do you know what you're doing?"

He had always known that the Locke family favored Rebecca over Madison, but he had never expected them to go to this extent.

"You're throwing your own daughter out onto the streets? Do you want her to become homeless? Are you even her biological mother? This was Rebecca's idea, wasn't it?"

Jordan's fury was barely contained, his voice rising with every word. If he hadn't forced himself to stay composed, he would have scolded Tanya.

He could let Rebecca slide for being motivated by interests, but Tanya was Madison's biological mother. He couldn't understand how she could be so cruel.

Rebecca stayed silent, letting Tanya

shield her. Tanya instinctively stepped in front of her daughter and said in a defensive tone, "This was my decision, not Becky's. It has nothing to do with her. Everything I do is for Maddie's own good."

She looked at Jordan and continued in an accusatory tone, "Do you even know what she's done? She's keeping those evil spirits by her side! Look at what it's done to our family. She won't come home, and now, even Harvey refuses to come home. If she keeps them with her, who knows what kind of chaos she'll bring next?

"This is a Locke family matter. It's none of your business. Stay out of it."

Jordan glanced at Mia and the others, understanding that they were the so-called "evil spirits" Tanya was referring to. He took a deep breath and reined in his temper before turning back to Madison. "Ms. Madison, come with me. The Salle family owns plenty of properties. You don't need to stay here."

He gestured toward his car, clearly ready to take them all away.

Tanya stepped forward, her expression indignant. "Jordan, if you do this, you're going against the Locke family. This is our family's internal affair."

Jordan laughed. "Really? Are you

sure you want to turn this into a

conflict between our families?

Considering how many projects the Salle and the Locke families

have

collaborated on over the years, are you sure about that?"

Tanya froze, speechless.

Jordan ignored her and opened the car door. Then, he gestured toward Madison. "Ms. Madison, please get in."

Madison climbed into the car without hesitation. He gently closed the door behind her before turning to face Tanya and Rebecca one last time. His gaze was cold, his voice sharp.

"I underestimated you before, Rebecca. You're more capable than I previously gave you credit for."

With that, he got into the car, started the engine, and drove away. Tanya and Rebecca were left behind, standing by the roadside.
