The CEO Gets What He Wants

Chapter 186

Chapter 186

Cayden was utterly bewildered.

Yet, any sane person would have no trouble understanding what had just been said between those two.

I remember Mom saying, “Avery! I know what kind of naughty business you're up to in there! You guys can't possibly stay in there for the rest of your lives, can you? I'm going to stay here all day long if I have to! I'll wait for you to come out. You're not getting out of this!” I heard that when I was having sex with Avery. Mom said it so loud it was impossible not to hear her.

The reason Cayden had carried on with the sex was that he had thought that Allie was just worried about him. I thought Mom was worried that I would end up getting intimate with my cousin's wife. After all, that's very wrong. However, after Mom came in, she said, “Not bad. You've found yourself a rich man, haven't you?”

It was then Cayden started to have a weird feeling about the conversation.

Although he couldn't pinpoint the reason he felt that way, the fact was that things were far from what he had expected.

The conversation that followed was rather confusing for people who weren't aware of what was going on.

“How dare you tell me there isn't a man here? You betrayed my nephew and my son and had sex with another man! Avery, you're truly something else!”

When Cayden heard that, he was in the process of tidying himself up.

What happened after that was the slap.

When Cayden heard that crisp slapping sound, his heart ached for Avery. One of them is my mother, while the other is the mother of my children. Why are they fighting?

By the time Cayden was done dressing up and opened the door with a frown on his face, he heard Avery saying, “Have I not always been a shameless woman in your eyes? According to you, I've seduced your son, my biological brother, with ulterior motives, no? After I've failed to seduce your son, I've gone after your nephew, instead, haven't I? Didn't you say you gave birth to me, and I was born with the sole purpose of making life difficult for you? Why did you only slap me now? Why didn't you do it in front of the Moores and the Musks?”

Cayden finally knew what was going on after he heard that. Now I know why she left me and said she couldn't forget about Zayne. Heck, she even went on a blind date with an employee from another company! Having gone through everything, she must have been on the verge of breaking down. Yet, she was telling me all those nonsensical things. When she told me I could be his brother, I thought she had a fetish or something. It turns out there's a reason behind everything she has said and done. Mom has been the problem all this while!

“Cayden?” Allie was getting anxious. She smiled amiably and said, “Ery's got me so confused! I thought she was sleeping around with indecent men.”

Ignoring Allie, Cayden walked toward the coffee table and took the lighter and cigarettes he had left there earlier in the morning.

After lighting it up, he took a drag and said to Avery, “Pack up and leave at nine sharp.”

Avery's cheek was still red because that slap was quite hard.

Cayden stared at her face for quite a while before retracting his gaze. As he left, he told Allie to leave as well.

Suddenly, the cramped rented house fell silent once again.

Avery went to wash up. Standing in front of the basin, she splashed a handful of water on her face.

The moment she decided to have a fallout with Allie, she knew there was no way she could ever have a mother-and-daughter relationship with Allie. Even if the DNA test were to show that I am Allie's daughter and Cayden isn't her son, I still wouldn't see her as my mother. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Right then, beads of water could be seen dangling on Avery's eyelashes. However, she had no idea if they were tears or the water she had splashed on her face.

Back at the Moore residence, Xavier had already picked Zachary and Rory up for school before seven in the morning.

Lily and Kendrick were staying in the west wing of the residence. Hence, they wouldn't have a clue if something were to happen in the east wing.

Despite how early it was, Jeffrey was already downstairs watching the gardeners water the plants. When he saw Cayden and Allie come back, he didn't think too much about it until he heard the

commotion upstairs.

As far as Jeffrey was concerned, Cayden was undoubtedly a domineering and dictatorial man. However, Cayden would always be more lenient in his family's presence. It was known that Cayden would always turn a blind eye as long as nothing immoral and unlawful had been done.

Hence, Jeffrey couldn't help but wonder why Cayden was arguing with his mother.

Cayden had been giving Allie the silent treatment all the way home. To her surprise, he didn't even blame her for anything.

However, she knew Cayden well enough to know that he was the most frightening when he kept silent. I can't just keep quiet. Otherwise, Cayden will believe everything Avery says.

“Everything I did, I did it for your own good. I know you're a sensible man, and you know what you're doing. But do you know how many sensible men have fallen because of women? Trident Group is now in total control. You can't lose your sanity over a woman, Cayden!” Allie knew she had to defend her actions.

Upon hearing that, Cayden halted in his tracks when he was just about to head downstairs.

He turned around and stared at Allie sharply. “Didn't Dad do the same thing back then? Didn't he abandon his wife to live freely with you? Since I'm related to both of you by blood, I don't think you should be too surprised by my actions.”

Back then, Bruce and Lily were still legally married. In the public eye, however, Allie was widely regarded as Bruce's second wife.

At that time, it seemed that everyone had forgotten that they were living in a monogamous society.

“Cayden, don't forget the fact that Ery is Dylan's wife! If I were to tell everyone what you've done with Avery this morning, I doubt your grandpa would forgive you! You might not care about the Moore family's reputation, but the same can't be said for your grandpa!” Allie knew she wouldn't be able to get Cayden to submit to her, so she had resorted to dragging Jeffrey into it.

“Tell my grandpa, then! Tell him now!” Cayden roared, and his expression darkened.

The housekeepers instantly shivered in fear when they heard that.

With a grim expression and a cold gaze, Cayden continued, “If it weren't for you, my perfect mother, Avery wouldn't have been forced to marry Dylan, would she? When I come back later, I'll get to the bottom of how the hell I end up being Avery's brother!”
