Mia stood up from her seat when she spotted Arya hurrying in, still in her wedding gown, everyone stared at her in perplexity..

“Arya!”

Elizabeth looked up to Arya who just arrived, seeing her only brought her more pain than she could bear..

This wasn’t Arya’s fault in anyway but she’ll be the one to be criticized by the world, no matter what she does now, everyone will see as her as an abandoned bride..

Arya’s eyes were red and swollen from crying, she was suddenly engulfed in an embrace by Mia where she finally broke down in tears..

“I’m so sorry Arya.. my brother is a big jerk for doing that to you..”

The red lights turned off and soon after a man on a green gown stepped out, he pulled off his nose mask..

“Mrs Anderson”

The trio snapped their attention to the man who just stepped out..

Elizabeth was the first to run up to him, she held his hand and looked up to him..

“How is he?”

“We can’t say for now.. he’s still under observation.. let’s wait for him to wake up”

Two days later…

Chloe sighed and pushed the plate of toast to Arya who was lost in her thoughts, it’s been two days after the incident but it was still fresh in their memory like it happened a few seconds ago..

And in the span of these two days that passed, Mr Anderson was still unconscious and Arya has refused to have anything since then..

Ray wasn’t spared either alongside with the Anderson’s, everyone was thrown into despair patiently waiting for Kyle to wake up..

“Arya at least have a bite.. don’t starve yourself to death”

Mia gave a nod to Chloe who was still trying to persuade Arya to eat something..

“Go and get Ray” She whispered gently to Chloe who nodded and left for Ray’s room..

Mia took a seat in front of Arya who hasn’t spoken, eaten or drank in the last two days, she could almost feel her plight..

“Arya.. you heard the doctors right? he’s fine and will wake up any moment from now.. please have something to eat”

Mia gave up trying since she couldn’t get a word out of Arya, soon after Ray came down with Chloe wearing a long face..

Ray looked up to Chloe who gave him a small nod, she had told him about Arya’s hunger strike and he instantly agreed to help out..

He took steps forward to Arya and helped himself to a chair In the dining, he sat on the table while his legs were placed on the chair..

He picked up the piece of toast from the table and stretched it towards her mouth..

“Please have a bite.. if you don’t eat I’ll be sad too”

Ray pouted when he got no response from her, he tilted his head to the side trying to take a look at her face where he caught a single tear drop rolling down her cheek..

“Mummy, please take a bite or I won’t speak to you anymore”

Arya slowly looked up to him and forced a smile at him..

“Come on, just a little bite” Ray urged and to everyone’s surprise Arya took a bite out of the toast..

Elizabeth who was silently watching this scene sobbed even more, this would have been a very happy family if Charlotte hadn’t shown up two days ago..

Ray smiled as Arya ate from the piece of toast he was holding, he took his time to feed her and tried to put a smile on her face..

Everyone present in the living room admired them until someone suddenly appeared into the living room ruining the whole emotional atmosphere..

“Hmm.. nice view.. I hope I’m welcomed here”

Mia and the rest of them turned their attention to the lady who just spoke and anger engulfed their whole being..

It seems she was an agent of misfortune, just now when everyone had a little smile on their faces she managed to wash it off.. how unlucky of them to be entangled with a jinx like her..

Charlotte took a deep breath in and walked closer to them..

“What the hell are you doing here?! you have no right to step into my brother’s home after what you did!” Mia lashed out..

Charlotte however was more focused on Arya who was feeding Ray..

“I’d have happily argued with you.. but I’m here for something more important”

Arya held Ray’s face from taking a look behind him, she didn’t want him to see the ugly side of his real mother..

“Who is she?” Ray asked in a lowered tone..

Arya shook her head “I also don’t have any idea of who she is”

Mia followed Charlotte’s line of sight and a snort escaped her lips..

“What do you want?”

Charlotte walked past Mia and Chloe heading to the dining table..

“I want nothing else other than my son!” She declared..

The room suddenly fell quiet at her declaration, meanwhile Arya was seething in anger, her jaw clenched at the mere sight of the lady who made her a laughing stock two days ago at her wedding..

Ray turned to look at her when he heard her speak, Charlotte smiled at him and made an attempt to touch his head, surprisingly Arya was faster to hold Charlotte’s hand before it even grazed Ray’s hair..

“And who do you think you are to lay a finger on my son?!”

Charlotte was taken aback by the ferocity in Arya’s tone, she forcefully pulled her hand off Arya’s strong grip..

“What do you mean by that?! Ray is I and Kyle’s child not yours”

Arya sneered “perhaps if you had been around all these years.. you would have known that Ray doesn’t like anyone touching his hair except me”

Charlotte smiled and turned to the others clapping her hands in sarcasm..

“Wow! I’m impressed! at what thrash bin was she picked out from?”

“Don’t speak to my mummy that way! she’s really nice”

Charlotte turned swiftly when she heard the little one speak..

She dropped her purse on the dining table and cupped his face in her palm..

“Baby.. I’m your mum.. your real mummy and I’m also very nice, this lady here is not your mum.. please come home with me, I got a lot of toys that you would really love…

Arya pushed Charlotte off Ray and threw a slap at her face..

“After abandoning him for five years, you think you can just come back and take him away from me?!”

Charlotte opened her mouth to speak when another slap was sent to her face again by Arya who was boiling with rage..

“You dare speak? you left this family five years ago.. but now they have me, you don’t stand a chance..!”

Mia and Chloe exchanged shocking gazes, this was just like a scene out of a movie, Arya did a very good job.

Charlotte pointed a finger at Arya but made sure she stood at a distance to avoid getting slapt again..

“I’ll make you regret this mistake you just made Arya Carter!”

Mia raised her phone to her ear after hearing it ring out, her eyes suddenly grew large after hearing something from the other end..

“Really?!”

She raised her head to meet their curious gazes “Kyle just woke up!”

Kyle groaned out touching his head that was neatly bandaged..

He stared at his surroundings and noticed that it seemed to be a hospital, he tried to recall what must have happened when the door suddenly opened..

Mia, Elizabeth and Jake rushed into the ward startling Kyle who wasn’t expecting them to come in all at once..

Mia flashed him a small smile which caused his brows to raise, when did they start acting nice to him?

In the next minute Ray retracted his hand from Arya who just stepped into the ward and ran into Kyle’s arm..

“Daddy.. I missed you so much, I promise i won’t trouble you anymore, you made everyone sad”

Arya walked closer to the two, even if she was mad at the him after he abandoned her on their wedding day, she still had to ask about his health..

“It’s good that you’re awake now, everyone was worried”

Kyle stared at Arya and Ray blankly, he looked around as if searching for someone but couldn’t spot them..

“Are you feeling uneasy? I can get the doctor if you are..

Kyle raised a brow at her and snorted “And who are you?”

Elizabeth chuckled and touched his cheeks gently “You think this is the right time to joke?”

Ray looked up to his dad and smiled “Get well soon daddy so that you can finally get married to Arya alright?”

Kyle gently pushed the kid off him startling everyone..

“Stop calling me that!”

Arya was left puzzled “Are you alright Kyle?”

Kyle’s gaze fell on the lady who just walked into the ward with a small smile..

“There you are!”

His brows suddenly furrowed when his eyes narrowed down at her flat tummy..

“Charlotte, what happened to our baby?”
