Two days later..

Arya was finally discharged and taken home, and ever since she got back, Ray has refused to leave her side even for a second..

Kyle also kept a close eye on her, he had strictly forbidden her to step out of the bed or their room at large.

Everything was gradually falling into place for them, until Arya felt her stomach shift, she stepped out of the bed, not again! her legs were still a bit weak but she managed to help herself to the bathroom..

Kyle stepped into the room with a smile on his face which died the minute he saw the empty bed and room..

He heard the sound of water running in the bathroom and also groans and loud coughs..

“Arya!”

He banged on the door until it opened to reveal her pale face..

“Are you alright?…” he worriedly asked scooping her into his arms..

Arya shook her head slowly resting against him as he carried her to the bed…

“We’ll leave for the hospital right now”

Chad’s brows furrowed while he checked up on Arya, by her side sat her worried husband and Ray..

“Is she alright?”

Chad scribbled on his notepad handing it over to the nurse next to him..

“Yeah.. we just have to wait for the test results, it’ll be out in the next twenty minutes”

Kyle’s face darkened “Make it five!” he ordered..

Chad gulped down and followed behind the nurse who just left..

Ray stroked Arya’s hair gently with a pout, he didn’t like the fact that she was being taken in and out of the hospital every time..

“Please get well soon..”

Few minutes later, Chad walked into the ward again with a white sheet in his hands..

He smiled seeing the family of three chatting away so happily.

“Daddy sucks at making breakfast and getting me ready for school”

Chad cleared his throat to gain their attention “Umm.. the results are out Kyle”

Arya’s heart skipped a beat, she hoped it wasn’t any major issues.

Kyle turned to Chad with an arched brow, he gave a nod for the latter to go on..

“Congratulations man! Arya is one month pregnant”

Arya’s eyes widened, pregnant? she placed her hand over her flat tummy, that explains why she was throwing up lately..

Kyle turned to Arya with a blank expression on his face..

“You’re pregnant Arya!” He beamed pulling her into arms..

“Yay! I’m gonna have a sister!!!”

Mia straightened Chad’s collar, she was currently straddling him while his hand rested on her waist…

“When will you tell my brother about us?”

Chad sighed deeply, this was the hardest obstacle he had left, he just didn’t know how to tell Kyle about his relationship with Mia..

The latter might point a gun to his head and pull the trigger if he were to find out..

Was he scared?

Yeah just a bit, he was scared Kyle won’t approve of them..

“Mia.. I’m trying, I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him, what if he doesn’t approve of us?”

Mia rolled her eyes “My brother doesn’t bite… infact he’s the most considerate”

She leaned down a bit and planted a kiss on his lips, she made an attempt to pull back when his hand went to the back of her head..

“You don’t have to start what you can’t finish Mia”

He sealed her lips with his which earned a muffled chuckle from Mia .

Unexpectedly the door opened, they both snapped their heads to the door in shock to see Kyle standing at the corridor with a blank expression..

Chad’s eyes widened, what was Kyle doing here? hasn’t he left with Arya already?

Few minutes later..

The two stared at each other communicating with their eyes, Kyle sat before them with one leg over the other..

He tapped his finger in a slow rhythm staring intently at the two..

“Too close” he pointed out to the two whose arms were brushing against each other..

They took a step apart from each other with an awkward smile..

“Big bro.. I can explain-

“I’ll handle this Mia.. Kyle I’m interested in your sister.. I like her a lot”

Kyle stared back and forth between the two, he slowly stood up to his feet walking to Chad who was at the verge of sprinting out of the room..

“You actually have the nerves to come after my sister?”

He raised his fisted hand ready to strike Chad but his hand froze, he stared at Chad who moved back a little to shield himself from the oncoming punch while Mia had a look of horror on her face..

His fisted hand suddenly loosened as he placed his hand on Chad’s shoulder patting him gently..

“You’ve finally relieved me of a huge burden.. I thought she was going to spend her life all alone given her bad attitude.. but no fooling around with each other until you’re certain where this relationship is heading to”

Mia and Chad exchanged brief glances before giving a nod, mia was the first to come out of her shock, she threw herself into Kyle’s embrace..

“Thanks big bro..”

Later that night..

Chloe stepped out of Bryan’s car ready to bolt into the building when he pulled her back..

She groaned out and turned to him with an arched brow, and just as expected her brothers were peeping at them through the window.. it has become one of their recent habits, whenever they heard the sound of a car pulling over..

“I don’t think they are ready to let go of their sister yet” Bryan chuckled..

“They are so overprotective.. anyways thanks for today.. I had a great time”

Bryan closed the gap between them with a teasing smile on his lips..

“So? when are you finally going to tell me what exactly I want to hear?.. I’m dying to hear you say it”

“Bryan.. my brothers are watching.. they’ll tease me nonstop” She whispered..

Arya buried her face into her glass of fruit juice, ever since Kyle announced her pregnancy to his family, Elizabeth has been making sure her diet was right..

She wasn’t even allowed to move a muscle in the house, all she does is to lay around on bed all day..

Kyle bade his mum good bye as she walked out of the door, he turned around walking to Arya who has been avoiding him these days..

He took a seat next to her on the bed staring intently at her face for any sign of discomfort..

“I see you’ve been avoiding me lately..”

“I almost forgot.. umm Ray asked me to –

Kyle pushed her back gently to rest back on the bed’s headboard..

“Another excuse to avoid my questions, however, I think we owe ourselves some explanations.. don’t you think?””

Arya flushed pink in embarrassment, she knew where Kyle was driving at, she felt his hand caressing her tummy slowly…

“Even our baby needs to know on what terms he or she was born.. was it love? or just duties?”

Kyle leaned forward to Arya with a serious expression on his chiselled face..

“So tell me Arya.. did you give yourself to me that night because you felt something changed between us? or perhaps because you felt obligated to do it?”

Arya bit her bottom lips before raising her head to stare into his eyes seeking answers..

“Kyle I did what I did because.. I wanted to be one with you.. we got entangled only because of Ray’s sake but.. I got you as a bonus.. something definitely did change”

Kyle peered intently at her, he felt like there was something else she wanted to say but was holding herself back from saying it..

“Say it” he uttered more like an order..

Arya inhaled a deep breath “I love you Kyle Anderson”

That was all Kyle needed to hear, he leaned closer to her with a smile tugging at the corner of his lips…

“I love you too Arya Anderson”

He kissed her gently on her lips, his hand held the back of her head pulling her closer to himself…
