Chapter 2113
David fidgeted with the chopsticks, continuously loading his plate to avoid the awkward silence that had settled between them. Soon, the dishes on the table were almost gone.
Rosalind asked, "David, are you full, or should we order some more?"
David reached for a napkin to dab at his mouth, declining, "No, thanks. I'm quite satisfied."
These phrases were usually exchanged with clients.
Whenever a client would ask if he'd like to order more, he'd generally decline.
He didn't expect Rosalind to ask, and he reflexively refused.
Right after speaking, David regretted it.
Why did he say no? Couldn't he have shown some concern, asking if she was full or inviting her to pick something she liked?
His refusal inadvertently cut off any chance for Rosalind to order more.
The dinner was filled with regret for David, not for dining with Rosalind, but for his tactless words.
Before he could attempt to salvage the situation, Rosalind stood up, "Alright then, let's head out."
She grabbed her purse and headed for the door, leaving David to sigh inwardly, criticizing himself for not being considerate enough.
As Rosalind left, David had no choice but to follow suit.
Just as they stepped out, Lydia and Ethan emerged from another room.
The four of them met face to face.
Ethan, always the most outgoing, saw David and Rosalind leaving together, and teased, "David, fancy seeing you here. So, the business you had was with Ms. Whitman."
David froze, mortified, wishing he could've silenced Ethan before he spoke.
Sure enough, Rosalind was upset.
She shot David a cold look, then
sarcasticallys. Unfortunately,
said, "So, David was

don't have any projects to
collaborate on with you. Today's
meal was a failure."
With that, Rosalind stormed off in her heels, leaving a strong impression.
"Hey," David tried to follow and explain but realized he had no grounds to do so.
He gave Ethan a look of resignation, "Quite the coincidence, Mr. Ethan coming to a restaurant for
treatment. Let Dr. Lydia take care of your mouth."
With that, he quickly walked away.
Ethan looked innocently at Lydia, asking, “What's with their sour faces all of a sudden? Did I say something wrong?" Lydia rolled her eyes, "You need more than just your mouth fixed; your brain needs attention too."
She left him with those words, hurrying away.
Ethan, still confused, followed Lydia, "Can you tell me what's going on with them? Help me understand where I went wrong?" Lydia didn't respond. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Reaching the lobby, Ethan saw Rosalind paying at the front desk, while David was already waiting by the car outside.
The scene suddenly made sense to him!
There was something between those two!
And it seemed like Rosalind was the one pursuing David!
