The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 1929

Everything was going exactly as the younger generation had wished. Beatrice, chuckling, exchanged a glance with Remington. They had known early on that Hertha had given birth to twins, a boy and a girl, and had promised Alaric not to intrude. But the more the elderly couple thought about the adorable little munchkins, the more they couldn't resist the urge to visit. If they could just clear the air face-to-face, perhaps they could visit the kids more often, right?

Hertha was taken aback by Beatrice's words, having not expected Alaric's earlier words to be true. She glanced again at Alaric, who flashed her a conciliatory smile, only to receive an eye roll from Hertha.

"Hertha, dinner's ready. Call everyone to the table," Kimberly announced, emerging from the kitchen with a dish in hand.

"Oh, right, Mom," Hertha responded.

"Oh, this is your mom? Look at us, coming here without bringing any gifts. How rude of us," Beatrice exclaimed upon hearing Hertha call Kimberly 'Mom,' quickly getting up from the sofa. She apologized to Kimberly in a courteous manner. They had heard someone cooking and had assumed it was a housekeeper, not realizing it was Hertha's mother. How thoughtless of them not to greet her upon arrival.

Feeling guilty, Beatrice approached Kimberly, extended her hand, and warmly shook it: "Kimberly, you look even younger than we imagined. You really take good care of yourself. And look at this meal, so talented and beautiful."

Everyone loves a compliment, and Kimberly's mood lightened at Beatrice's praise. Her previously stern expression softened into a smile: "You flatter me. But really, you shouldn't have troubled yourselves to come all this way."

"Ah, it's nothing. We just wanted to see the kids and then we'll head back," Beatrice said cheerily. That reassured Kimberly, who had been worried the Falconers were there to take the children. Hearing Beatrice's words put her at ease.

"Well, we won't say no to that," Beatrice said with a grin, turning to call Remington: "Old man, come have a seat. Let's not waste Kimberly's kindness."

"Of course, I haven't even started eating and can already smell the deliciousness. It's our good fortune to taste such wonderful cooking, Remington said, making his way over with his cane, sounding more cheerful than usual.

"Hehe, please, take a seat. I've got more dishes in the kitchen; I'll go fetch them," Kimberly said, heading back to the kitchen.

Beatrice and Remington, smiling at each other, took their seats at the table without further ado.

"Alaric, have Hertha and the kids join

us. Let's have them sit down, and then they can play after we eat," Beatrice called out to Alaric, ensuring he arranged seats for Hertha and the children.

Alaric, ever so obedient, responded and carefully placed each child in a high chair by the table.

Seeing this, Hertha couldn't help but ask, "Alaric, did you make sure they washed their hands before sitting down for dinner?"
