The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée

Betrayed

Roman’s POV

“Make sure either you or any of the servants are always around Nana, okay? I don’t want what happened today to ever repeat itself, am I clear?” I instructed Daniel, as Nathan flung open the car door.

The older man bowed, “Yes, young master. I promise to never neglect my duties in the future.”

I clapped his shoulder before getting into the car with Nathan following suit. He turned on the gas and then we set out to the mansion.

“By the way, sir. Alexander Guilon called at the office earlier today to set up a meeting with you and I declined it just like you demanded.” Nathan said, to which I nodded.

“That’s good of you.”

“But he didn’t seem like he was going to back down, sir. He keeps saying he has something important to discuss with you, something related to an abandoned gold mine that he recently just acquired.”

Mild irritation sizzled within me as I clutched my hands into a fist and squeezed it into the car seat, almost making a punch mark into the leather.

“Block everything concerning him then. Do I have to tell you that before you do it? I don’t want to see or hear about that man again, are we clear? If I see that man within the four walls of my company, Nathan, I will assume that you’re not serious with your job and you don’t want it.” I angrily gritted out.

“Yes, sir.”

I just scoffed before looking out of the window, and I saw someone I didn’t expect to see sitting in a confectionery shop.

It was Sofie.

Initially, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me until Nathan spoke, “Isn’t that Miss Sofie, sir?”

“Yes, it is.” I muttered.

I thought she had a class today. Maybe it got cancelled.

I ordered Nathan to park the car, so I could get a clearer view of her.

It was then I noticed she was sitting opposite a man whose face was turned toward her but something was strange.

Something about the man seemed familiar but I couldn’t place a finger on what it was.

I decided to send her a text to see if we could go for our date earlier than I had planned.

So I brought out my phone and sent a quick message which read; “Hey, baby. I got off work earlier than I thought, would you like to get lunch together now, or are you still busy with your classes?”

I couldn’t deny the jealousy bristling within me as I stared at the faceless man. I guessed my possessiveness was worsening as the day went by.

Soon I got a reply from Sofie which made a small smile curve my lips. The smile instantly dissipated as I read through her response which read; “Hi, my love. I’m so sorry but I don’t think our date for today would be possible. My classes today will end very late in the evening, and I don’t even know when the exact time will be. Let’s postpone our date till tomorrow, I love you.”

I scoffed out a mirthless chuckle, as I took in the sight of Sofie nodding at whatever the man was saying, and inexplicable rage slithered through my veins.

Sofie had lied to me.

I felt the urge to go into the shop, and do something stupid but I held myself back, and just nodded at nothing.

“We’re not leaving this place until they leave. I need to see the son of a bi-” I squeezed my eyes closed for a split second to suppress my fury before continuing, “I need to see the person she’s with.”

“Yes, sir.”

After what felt like hours, Sofie and her mystery man trekked out of the shop and I was shocked out of my mind when I saw who the man was.

It was none other than Damien, my close friend of many years meeting up with my woman.

Various unhinged questions raced through my mind as I watched them get into the car, all smiley with each other like a newly-married couple.

What could they be meeting up for? And why didn’t I know about their meeting? Why did Sofie lie to me that she was in school when she was with Damien?

It all bore down to a possible conclusion which weighed heavily on my mind; Sofie and Damien were cheating on me.

But then again, they didn’t exactly act like a couple; I didn’t see them hug or kiss each other.

Maybe they only did that behind closed doors.

Sofie had even lied about her classes ending late in the evening when she wasn’t even in school.

“Don’t you dare make a snarky remark or else you’ll lose your job this instant.” I glared at Nathan as soon he opened his mouth to say something.

He clamped his mouth shut and nodded, “Yes, sir.”

“Take me to the mansion.” I ordered, watching Damien’s car diminish out of sight.

“Very well, sir.”

When I got home, I ignored the butler and servants’ greetings, headed straight to the bedroom to get changed into my gym clothes before heading downstairs to my private gym.

There, I unleashed my pent-up anger and stress on the punching bag. I didn’t even bandage my hands properly before putting on my boxing gloves.

“Damien, you bastard. You fucking piece of shit, you fucking betrayal. I’ll kill you motherfucker, you dare meet up with my woman in private, huh?” I gritted out, picturing the punching bag as Damien.

In my mind, I had already bludgeoned his head to the point where he was barely conscious.

Blood was running down his head to the floor where it formed a mini pool of blood.

I laughed manically as I continued hitting the punching bag, ignoring the fact that it now felt lighter and seemed like it was about to burst open.

I stopped for a brief moment when my head started to spin with horrendous imaginations of Sofie and Damien naked and entangled in bed.

The image was enough to drive me crazier.

“Fuck you, bastard!” I yelled on top of my lungs before I resumed punching the bag.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

At that moment, the immeasurable love I harbored for Sofie transformed into vitriolic hatred.
