The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 832

Chapter 832

Leda hobbled over obediently, her face swollen and bruised, taking on an oddly grotesque appearance.

The wedding fiasco had caused quite a stir, and Marcel had to pull some strings to keep the press at

bay. Nonetheless, a leak had sent the company’s shares tumbling by two points, much to Manuel’s fury,

who slammed his fists on the kitchen table in a fit of rage!

The Salter Group was shaken, and Brittany’s entire focus shifted to the impending lawsuit! On the day

of the trial, Brittany arrived at the courthouse bright and early.

Somehow, the media had caught wind of the proceedings and swarmed the courthouse entrance.

Sitting in her car, Brittany stared at the relentless media circus, momentarily dazed.

“Brittany, maybe we should use the back entrance?” suggested Kari, not having anticipated the

reporters’ blockade. Exiting the car now would surely lead to a mobbing.

Brittany, however, refused to back down. “No need.”

Most of these journalists were probably tipped off by Joie.

Since they were here, why not make the most of it?

Before Kari could respond, Brittany unbuckled her seat belt with a click and swung open the car door.

“It’s Brittany!”

The media descended upon her the moment she stepped out.

Cameras and microphones in hand, they rushed towards her, bombarding her with questions.

“Mr. Dustin, what’s your comment on the lawsuit?”

“We hear you were kidnapped, possibly on Joie’s orders. Were you hurt…”

“Jolin is Mr. Salter’s close friend. Will this court battle affect your relationship?”

Brittany wasn’t new to the media’s probing questions. She stood tall, her gaze icy, her stance aloof.

“The outcome of the lawsuit is yet to be determined. I have nothing to say at this point.”

“But what about you and Mr. Salter? Have you two had a quarrel over this issue?”

Brittany choked on the question.

Quarrels were natural.

However, she had no desire to air her personal grievances for the whole town to gossip about.

Just then, a sleek black car pulled up, and Brittany found herself enveloped by strong arms, a deep

voice laying claim.

“Thank you all for your concern. Bri and I are on excellent terms.'”

Brittany instinctively struggled, but Isaac’s grip on her waist was firm as he ushered her into the

courthouse.

The media was left behind, speechless and confounded.

If these two were indeed so close, why would Isaac be siding with Joie?

Inside the courthouse, Brittany shrugged off Isaac’s touch.

“Don’t touch me.”

Isaac, clad in a tailored charcoal suit, exuded a refined charm. “I didn’t alert those reporters.”

He had no wish to escalate the situation; why would he call the press?

Brittany knew he wasn’t responsible. “Then it seems your darling sister is to blame.”

Brittany pushed through the main doors. “Mr. Salter, let’s keep conversation to a minimum until this is

over.”

She wasn’t sure if the next moment might bring a wave of anger prompted by Joie.

Isaac watched her retreating figure and exhaled heavily.

After standing still for a few minutes, he followed suit.

The courtroom was a bastion of solemnity, and Joie was already there. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Gone was her previous poise and arrogance. She appeared haggard, evidently having had a rough

time at the police station.

Upon seeing Brittany, a flicker of triumph passed through Joie’s eyes, and she taunted from a corner

unseen by the crowd.

“Brittany, what good is suing me? Brother Isaac is still on my side!”

All she needed was to walk away unscathed, and she had plenty of ways to make Brittany’s life in

Imperial City unbearable once more!

Brittany admired Joie’s nerve.

“Let’s hope you’re still this smug when the trial’s over.”

Joie sensed an unsettling chill creeping up her spine, but she chose to dismiss it.

With Jolin as her defense, Brittany couldn’t touch her!

As Brittany took her seat at the plaintiff’s bench, Isaac entered the courtroom.

Joie’s eyes sparkled with hope.

Yet, a single icy glance from Isaac subdued her.

He took a seat behind Brittany, gradually settling in.
