Chapter 804
Chapter 804
The line was busy, and it took a while for the call to connect
“Bri, did you receive the gift?”
“Yes, I did.” Brittany chuckled, her voice light with gratitude. “William, thank you.”
William’s voice was low, tender with sincerity. “Happy Birthday.”
“I had those watches custom-made for you and Zac. I hope you both like them.”
“I love them.”
Brittany knew that William had been entangled in a messy divorce with Carla Salter. “How’s the battle with the Salters going?”
He was determined to divorce.
Carla wouldn’t have it. She even threatened to drag William through the mud and toss him behind bars if he pushed for it.
William decided to turn the tables and took the fight to court.
The judge refused to grant the divorce.
William had no choice but to appeal, his conflict with the Salter clan turning sour.
“Still have to appeal.”
William clearly didn’t want to dwell on it, pressing a hand to his temple. “Let’s not talk about that today. It’s a day for celebration.“
Brittany wanted to offer some comfort, but the words just wouldn’t come out.
The Salter family wasn’t what it used to be.
Carla’s refusal to divorce was less about love and more about clinging to the lavish lifestyle William provided.
Throughout the afternoon, Kari and the studio team dropped by with gifts and well-wishes, keeping Brittany in good spirits all day.
After work, Brittany stepped out of the studio to find Nathan waiting by the door. “Ms. Dustin, Mr. Salter sent me to pick you up.”
Guessing that Isaac had prepared a surprise, she maintained her composure, “Alright.”
She wasn’t one to hide her emotions, and a joyous glow radiated from her eyes, momentarily stunning Nathan.
Snapping back to reality, he ushered her into the car.
The black sedan sped off.
་་
Brittany remained silent during the drive, until they arrived at a sprawling estate nestled partway up a hill.
Nathan opened the door. “Ms. Dustin, please.”
Stepping out, Brittany was greeted by an expansive field of dazzling roses, each bloom meticulously cared for and glistening with dew.
Beyond the roses stood a five-story villa, its white facade exuding elegance and grace.
A red carpet led through the rose field, the scent of flowers filling the air and stirring excitement within her.
As she approached the entrance, her heart fluttered with anticipation.
Upon crossing the threshold, her gaze trembled.
A sea of sunflowers greeted her, with a grand piano at its heart, played by a tall, striking man whose defined hands crafted a moving melody.
Standing at the doorway, Brittany was enveloped in the music.
Isaac, sensing her presence, looked up and locked eyes with her, sending her heart into a frenzy.
The music ceased, and he stood, revealing himself in a crisp ivory suit, the epitome of refined charm. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
His deep voice resonated as he approached.
“Bri, happy birthday.”
He held a bouquet of sunflowers, his gaze deep and oceanic. “Five years ago, our hasty marriage gave you nothing but hardship.”
Brittany felt a surge of realization, her eyes welling with tears.
Isaac closed the gap between them, knelt on one knee, and presented a velvet box, his eyes laden with earnest love.
“Bri, these five years represent my debt to you. Thoughts of you occupy every moment of my life. Since your return, every day has been filled with dreams of marrying you, of sharing a lifetime together…”
His customary composure gave way to nerves, his lips subtly trembling. “I swear, from this day forward, you are my everything. I will love you eternally. Will you spend your life with me?”
He opened the box to reveal a perfect Blue Diamond, encircled by a halo of smaller stones, exquisite and elegant.
His eyes pleaded, “Bri, will you marry me?”
