Chapter 802
Chapter 802
Nathan breezed past Mila and headed straight back to his room.
Even Samuel hadn’t anticipated that, while attending his son’s wedding, he would unexpectedly cross paths with the Malones once again.
With some effort, Samuel managed to get in touch with Willa.
Willa was resistant to him, to the point where she didn’t even want to speak.
Left with no choice, Samuel sought out Kari.
“Ms. Malone, I’m deeply sorry for what happened back then.”
Samuel had lived with his guilt for years.
After having a few drinks that fateful night, he caused a car accident. Everything happened too suddenly, and when he came to his senses, Caleb Malone had already taken his last breath.
Kari looked at Samuel’s face, and a wave of disgust washed over her: “You’re apologizing now? Don’t you think it’s a little late?”
Not everything can be settled with an apology.
“I can give you any amount of money you require,” Samuel said in a deep voice. “I wanted to give you money back then, but you…”
“Mr. Jarvis.” Kari cut him off, “I don’t need money, and I certainly don’t want the Jarvis family’s dirty money. Either you pay the price you owe, or leave Imperial City!”
She didn’t have the power to take on the Jarvis family; she just wanted them gone.
Samuel, seeing the disgust on Kari’s face, left a check behind and walked away.
Kari picked up the check, sneered, and tore it to shreds, tossing it into the trashcan.
The wedding between Kari and Nathan was called off, leaving everyone at the studio worried about her.
But Kari was surprisingly in good spirits. She threw herself into her work, more intensely than before.
Brittany kept a discreet eye on Kari, ensuring that she showed no signs of anything unusual before finally breathing a sigh of relief. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
Time flew, and by mid-June, Daniel was off for summer break. He was sent by Isaac to a prestigious summer camp.
This camp, mostly filled with children of the affluent, spanned two months and offered an enriching journey through three different countries, greatly broadening the young minds.
Isaac had his trusted aides ensure Daniel’s safety at the camp.
Daniel rarely traveled abroad, so the upcoming trip to Europanova thrilled him.
He had his bags packed early, eagerly awaiting the adventure.
Brittany felt a pang of separation anxiety as she coaxed Daniel to sleep.
Just as she was about to cuddle up with her son, the bedroom door swung open.
A tall figure stood in the doorway, a hint of discontent in his stance, “He’s asleep.”
Brittany instinctively gestured for silence, carefully tucked Daniel in, and then quietly led Isaac out of the bedroom.
Isaac’s gaze fell on Brittany’s midsection, igniting a spark of desire.
“I’m going to miss our boy.”
The thought of not seeing Daniel for two months made Brittany’s heart feel heavy, as if stuffed with straw, dry and uncomfortable.
Isaac followed her, wrapping his arms around her waist and planting a sticky kiss on her lips. “Perfect, we’ll have our own little world for a while.”
Brittany hesitated, “What if we join him?”
Naturally, Isaac couldn’t accompany them.
First, he was swamped with official duties.
Second, ever since they reconciled, Brittany’s attention had mostly been on Daniel. Now that the distraction was out of the way,
how could he let her go again?
“That’s not a good idea.”
Isaac scooped her up and captured her lips, “Let’s take this opportunity to work on giving him a little sister.”
Brittany blushed to her ears.
“No way.”
“We’re not even married yet…”
Before she could finish, Brittany was swept into another world, like a fish plunged into the depths, surrounded by boundless joy. She lost all will to resist.
