Chapter 219
Chapter 219
(Shevek’s Pov)
I stuck to the shadows as much as I could..
At this point, it was clear to me that Alpha Griffin wanted to harm Rose.
My blood pumped in fury as I thought about all the terrible things Alpha Griffin might have done to my beloved.
The Silvermoon pack has always been brutal in their tactics, and Alpha Griffin seemed to be the originator of such practices. I suddenly stopped and lifted my nose to the air. I could sense her now.
She was close by.
I looked around where I was, but there was no place that seemed good enough to hide Rose in.
I refused to give up.
Finally, I saw a small window positioned at an oddly low level, almost to the ground.
I knew that window didn’t lead to a room in the house, more like a room below the ground.
That was it! An underground room.
dropped to the ground and tried the window. It was locked. I tried to force it open and stopped suddenly when I heard a light thud, and I stopped moving, then looked through the window at the room inside.
My eyes widened when I saw Rose.
She was tied helplessly to a chair. I frowned when I saw a young woman towering over her. She turned, and I saw that it was Rose’s other daughter.
Olivia.
I knew who she was because I had previously done a background check on Rose.
I frowned. What was going on between mother and daughter?
I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but from Rose’s horrific expression, it was obvious that it wasn’t pleasant information.
Before I knew what was happening, Olivia hit Rose on the head with a metal object.
I gasped.
Olivia was in support of Alpha Griffin.
I watched Rose pass out from the pain, and the anger in me surged.
I thought about breaking the window and going through it, but I decided against it. The window was too small to aid quick movements, and that meant that the young woman would raise an alarm before I could do any damage to her, and that would only put Rose and me in trouble.
It took all I had to stay still and not barge in through the window as fast as I could just to save Rose.
Every second I spent watching her felt painful, but I waited until the young woman left the room before I decided to make
my move.

I applied more strengthrand forced the window open. The sound cut through the air sharply, but I didn’t care. I needed to get to my beloved.
I slipped through the window faster than I’d imagined it would be and got to Rose.
She looked weak. The ropes around her wrists were bound so tightly they almost cut through her wrists. She looked pale.
Why was she so weak?
I worked fast. I snapped the rope in half on her wrists and legs and took her in my arms.
I turned back to the window. It was too small for both of us to go through at once.
My head snapped to the side as I heard approaching sounds. I needed to act faster. The only option was through the door that led into the house.
It was too dangerous. But I had no choice either. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
I moved fast and stepped out of the room. I came to a long corridor that almost seemed unending. I walked quickly through it.
The sounds I heard earlier grew closer. From the sound they made, it looked like the maids were approaching.
Fortunately, another corridor was to my left, and I took a sharp turn, hiding myself and Rose just as two maids passed.
As soon as it was clear, I stood up and continued. After a few minutes, I made my way out of the house.
We were finally outside.
I released a deep breath.
Just as I was about to run out with Rose in my arms, I heard running footsteps, and before I knew what was happening, I was surrounded by guards and some pack members.
I was trapped.
I couldn’t escape even if I tried. Rose was weighing me down, and there was no way I would leave her behind just to save myself.
I closed my eyes and released a frustrated grunt.
I should have planned this properly. If I had known that Rose would be held hostage here, I would have come prepared.
I had no idea. I thought I was coming to apologize and take her back home or sweep her off her feet. Not this.
“Surrender.” One of the pack guards shouted.
I didn’t react. Surrender would mean I would have to let go of Rose. I couldn’t.
When the guards saw that I wasn’t going to respond, they immediately charged at me.
It was an unfair fight. The werewolves shifted into wolf form and jumped at me. I defended myself and avoided their attack, using my super speed to my advantage.
However, I didn’t predict the last attack from behind. One of the wolves sank its teeth into my arm; I lost focus for a moment, and the other wolves used it to their advantage as they overpowered me.
I was forced to the ground, Rose still in my hands. I bled from the numerous cuts on my body.

Chapter 219-
Weak, I gave up and wrapped myself around Rose, trying to protect her as much as I could.

The guards opened up, and Alpha Griffin and Alpha Theo walked into the clearing. They came to a stop before me.
“Did you think we were stupid enough not to have noticed your presence?” Alpha Griffin grinned.
“I must say that was a good act from my end. I sounded so convincing.” Alpha Theo said.

Alpha Griffin nodded. “We knew you were around, and had that discussion so you could try to take Rose away and capture you.”
“And it worked.” Theo laughed.

Griffin moved forward. In his right hand, he held a wooden stake shaped in form of a cross.
I shivered. If it was anything like I imagined, I wouldn’t survive it.
I felt too weak to respond. With a loud growl, Griffin raised the stake in the air and stabbed me in the heart.
Pain flooded my body, and I growled in agony. I felt myself begin to slowly slip away, and just before the darkness took over, I heard Griffin’s sinister voice.
“Rose can never be happy, because she took happiness from me.”
