Chapter 846 Settle Things
Does this d*mn jerk really think I'm an idiot? My power has now diminished by a third. If another third is
gone, I'll be at the mercy of that bastard. “No need. I can handle that bastard myself. Tucker, you're not
planning to dismantle my power in the Carter family, then seize the opportunity to take over my territory,
are you?”
The more Shaun thought about it, the more he was convinced that was the case. A sudden surge of
energy coursed through his body.
Sensing his anger, Tucker quickly tried to soothe him. “No, no, no, I don't have the audacity, I really
don't have the audacity. Shaun, don't get me wrong. I'm just giving you a suggestion. It's okay if you
don't want to contribute. Once I become the head of the Hoffman family, I'll still do everything in my
power to help you kill that brat.”
Shaun snorted and pointed toward the door of the ward. “If there's nothing else, you can get lost.
Starting today, our collaboration is completely over. Don't expect any help from me, and likewise, I
won't be asking for your assistance either.”
Tucker chuckled, ready to say something more, but upon seeing Shaun pull out a pistol from his waist,
he quickly shut his mouth. “All right, all right, I'll leave. Take care, Shaun. If you need any help, feel free
to give me a call.”
“Get lost!”
After watching Tucker leave the room, Shaun couldn't wait to pull out his phone and dial Veikko's
number.
“Bastard, do you want to save your first crush? If so, head to the Galaxy Club tonight. I'll be waiting for
you there. If you don't show up, I'll send the woman you love into the nightclub and let her please the
customers.”
A deathly silence ensued.
Two minutes passed without a response from the person on the other end of the line.
Just as Shaun was gradually becoming anxious, Veikko's deep and resonant voice came from the
receiver. “Okay. I'll be there tonight.”
With that, he immediately ended the call.
Listening to the dial tone coming from the receiver, Shaun couldn't help but curl his lips into a wicked
smile. Bastard, I'll set a trap so intricate, you'll find no way out.
Just as Tucker left the ward, he bumped into his personal bodyguard, who was walking toward him.
“Mr. Carter, we've located the illegitimate child of Mr. Philip and Sofie. He's hiding in a subsidiary of the
Hoffman family. It's just that their family business is spread all over the world. Finding his exact location
will take some time.”
Tucker abruptly halted, squinting at his bodyguard, and enunciated, “Sofie isn't dead, so she will
definitely go find that bastard. Quickly intensify the search efforts. We must find her illegitimate child
before she does. Do you understand?”
“Yes.”
No sooner had the two left than a slender figure emerged from the end of the corridor.
Astrid watched Tucker's retreating figure coldly, her hand at her sides slowly clenching into a fist.
She won't let off a single one of those who had harmed her.
Just now, Tucker mentioned that Philip and Sofie had an illegitimate child, and he was currently Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
searching for the latter's whereabouts.
Needless to guess, Tucker was trying to root out his enemies to prevent any illegitimate child from
challenging his right of inheritance.
Astrid wondered if she managed to protect that illegitimate child, would the Hoffman family soon stage
a drama of internal strife and conflict?
She was willing to try anything as long as it could serve as retribution against Tucker. If it weren't for
that b*stard, would I have ended up in this ghastly state I'm in now? If Sofie and her son can be
persuaded to target Tucker, forcing them to fight amongst themselves, that'll be more than perfect.
But... how can I get in touch with Sofie and tell her that Tucker wants to kill her son?
Meanwhile, Zeke, whom the elders of the Hoffman family assumed had already left Moranta, was now
leisurely savoring red wine on the couch inside the study of the Saviors' branch.
Veikko leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window, still holding his phone, having just finished a call with
Shaun.
“What's the matter? Is he threatening you with that fake Caridee again?” Zeke asked. His expression
was a mix of amusement and seriousness.
Veikko scoffed twice, his countenance somewhat twisted as he emanated an aura of murderous intent.
“That scoundrel truly didn't disappoint me one bit. He was hell-bent on eliminating me, completely
disregarding his own wife and children. I bet he's set a trap for me tonight, planning to take me down at
the club. In other words, he's given up on his wife and son.”
Zeke raised an eyebrow, chuckling lightly. “After all, the Caridee he holds captive is a fake. You don't
have to bother about him. Just treat him like a lunatic.”
Veikko clenched his phone tightly, a spine-chilling look of solemnity flashing in his eyes.
He had made up his mind. I've decided to deal with that jerk tonight, to stop him from running around
and causing harm to everyone. “I'm going to settle things with him tonight. He's lived long enough. It's
about time he descends to hell to atone for his sins.”
Seeing that his mind was made up, Zeke no longer tried to dissuade him. “Bay left many hyper-realistic
masks when she departed. Do you need me to disguise myself and accompany you on this journey?”
Veikko slightly lifted his head, rejecting him, “No need, this is a matter between him and me. I want to
resolve it myself. I appreciate your concern, though.”
Even though he knew that Shaun had laid a trap for him at the club, since the latter didn't truly have
Caridee in his hands, Veikko had nothing to fear. So what if I'm going to get heavily surrounded? I can
still breakthrough the ambush to kill him.
At Tarragon Headquarters, inside Micah's mansion's infirmary, Bailey was examining Micah's condition.
After confirming that the ribs on his chest were gradually healing, she couldn't help but tease, “Affection
care really is the most effective treatment. You can start moving around a bit now.”
Micah thanked her, then turned his head to look at Shannon at the foot of the bed. “I must thank
Shannon. Without her attentive care, I wouldn't have recovered so quickly.”
Shannon subtly turned her face away, attempting to change the subject. “How's my brother? He's not
hurt, is he?”
Bailey blinked, a sly twinkle flashing in his eyes. “Well... he got intimate with Wendy. They're resting
now.”
Everyone else fell silent.
As soon as she spoke, the atmosphere in the room suddenly became strange.
The smile in Bailey's eyes intensified. She gave Micah a knowing look, then swiftly darted out of the
ward.
Micah blinked, struggling to sit up. Just as he managed to lift his head, he suddenly yelped and fell
back down again.
Shannon hurriedly stepped forward, instinctively reaching out to lift the blanket off him.
Before her fingers could even touch the fabric, her vision suddenly spun as he pinned her down.
“Micah, what on earth are you doing?”
Micah ignored her, extending his slender fingers to trace her delicate face, his movements tender.
“Your brother did a lot of terrible things to Wendy, but in the end, she forgave him, didn't she? Shannon,
I think you can try to forgive me.”
