Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 56

Happy reading….

“Mr. Jayden is outside, Madam Hera,” Ara said quietly. The smile that was originally plastered on Hera’s face instantly faded. Turn flat.

“Am I—”

“Let him in,” Hera interrupted quickly.

From the start she had agreed to keep Jayden coming any time he missed Juan. He is still Juan’s father and no one can deny that. And Hera here doesn’t want to be selfish because Juan’s happiness is her priority now.

“Okay, Madam Hera,” said Ara back out to let Jayden in.

Not long after, the existence of Jayden was present in their midst; Hera and Juan. The man only glanced at Hera because Hera herself had looked away not wanting to look at her. Jayden grimaced softly.

“Juan is daddy’s hottie. How are you, son?” Jayden asked turning his gaze to his son. He carried Juan in his arms. The toddler who had just been able to sit up just smiled at his father. Just make Jayden excited. The man gave Juan a few kisses on the cheek.

Hera glanced slightly with a faint smile on her face. The woman couldn’t lie, she was happy to see Jayden and Juan’s interaction. Hera more or less asked herself, was her decision to part ways the best way? The woman was always worried. Afraid that he would make the wrong decision. But doesn’t every decision have a good or bad impact? And Hera should be able to deal with all that.

Jayden turned to look at Hera who was sitting on the sofa behind him. The man sat beside the woman who was still his wife.

“How are you, Hera?” Jayden asked with a look not leaving Hera.

“I’m fine.” Such a flat and cold answer.

“Thank goodness you’re fine” said Jayden nodding slowly, turning to look at Juan who had been biting his own hand.

Hera rose from her seat. “Just leave when you’re done seeing Juan,” she said, intending to leave.

“Wait, Hera!”

Jayden’s call made Hera fail. She then looked at Jayden. “What is it?” Hera asked.

“If I may … I want to take Juan for a walk,” Jayden said looking at Hera expectantly.

“Sure. But not too long because the weather is quite cold,” said Hera, glancing at the window. “Wait … I’ll get Juan a sweater first,” she said again.

“Thank you,” Jayden said to Hera’s only slight smile.

It only took a moment, Hera returned with a pair of warm clothes for Juan. The woman took over Juan from Jayden for a sweater.

“I want Ara to come with you,” said Hera as she put Juan’s clothes on.

“Why Ara? Why not just you?”

The question that suddenly made Hera gape in disbelief at what she had just heard. The woman glared at Jayden. But the man just shrugged his shoulders with a smile. But in retrospect, Jayden was right. Why Ara? Wouldn’t it be better if Hera kept an eye on Jayden when she was with Juan?

Hera lowered her gaze slightly. “All right. I’ll come with you,” she said then. It’s better to go with him than to worry alone at home.

Jayden smiled in satisfaction. He took over Juan while Hera came into the room to change her clothes. It didn’t take long, Hera came with her warm clothes.

“Come on!” Jayden said walking first followed by Hera behind him.

Silence. The only sound was the rattling of Juan’s toys and the little mumbling of the little baby in the car. Neither Hera nor Jayden wanted to speak up. They are like strangers. The distance is really felt now.

“How is your relationship with Elena?”

But in the end Hera broke the silence. Jayden turned his head for a moment, as if wondering why Hera suddenly asked about Elena?

“We’re fine,” Jayden replied. “How about you yourself?” The man asked again.

“What do you mean?”

“Haidar Pratama.” Jayden didn’t even need to explain what he meant. Just by mentioning the man’s name Hera would immediately understand.

“We don’t have a relationship like you think,” Hera avoided turning her face out the window. The image of Haidar kissing her flashed like a mockery of the words that had just come out of Hera’s mouth.

No relationship? Seriously.

“Oh, I see. I thought after our divorce you would marry him immediately,” Jayden paused for a moment as he stepped on the brake pedal slowly as the traffic light flashed. The man then turned his head towards Hera to continue his speech. “Like me and Elena.”

Hera’s eyes widened for a moment. The woman smiled crookedly. “Congratulations then. Isn’t that what you really wanted?”

“Of course.” Jayden nodded firmly. “Marrying Elena is my biggest dream, Hera.”

Hera snorted. That stare was so disgusting. Jayden really shamelessly showed his happiness in front of Hera who was still his wife.

Now, should Hera think twice about getting a divorce? No longer.

The woman chose to turn her face forward as the car drove back. She didn’t want to get out of control and spare all her emotions. Because it would be a lie if Hera said her heart didn’t hurt to hear Jayden’s confession. The wrinkled ends of the clothes become an outlet for pain, disappointment and anger. And the situation in the car was quiet again.

It took about fifteen minutes and Jayden’s car pulled up in the grounds of a hospital.

Oh shit! Because she was too busy taking care of the divorce, Hera forgot to bring Juan for a check up to the doctor. For the first time, Hera felt defeated by Jayden in taking care of Juan.

“Let me carry Juan,” said Jayden taking Juan into his arms.

The man seemed to show that he was more worthy of taking care of Juan than Hera. Maybe he thought Hera didn’t know. What a sly man. thought Hera. Until Jayden cried even though Hera wouldn’t let her son’s custody fall into the man’s hands.

“He is doing very well like a normal baby. So you don’t have to worry anymore,” said the doctor who treated Juan after he finished examining the tiny baby.

“Thanks,” Hera muttered in relief.

“Dad’s hero is great,” said Jayden, then kissed Juan on the cheek.

“Then we say goodbye, Doc,” said Hera.

The doctor just nodded and smiled seeing Hera and Jayden out of her room.

When he got outside Hera’s steps stopped. The cell phone in her pocket vibrated causing the woman to quickly grab the square object.

“Mom called,” Hera mumbled quietly. She’s only been out for a while though.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

“Hello, Mom. What’s wrong?” asked Hera holding her phone to her ear.

“Where are you, Hera?” asked Anne in a panicked tone that instantly made Hera frown.

“At the hospital. Juan has a check-up schedule today,” Hera replied, looking at Jayden who was already quite far in front of him.

“Hurry up, Hera. Your father is in the ER and is in critical condition.”

Hera’s ears were ringing so she just stood there because at the same time as Anne’s words, Jayden turned to look at Hera with a triumphant smile. It was as if the man knew what Hera had just heard.
