Chapter 3 – Flaunt It
"So! We'll just drop by your place later," Bambi told both ladies, as they waved at them frantically while walking backward. "Ta-ta!" Honey and Jada nodded at him, then they both ran towards the stairs. Both Bambi and Ada were excited about tonight's event.
They were in a hurry to leave because they still had to fetch their clothes from their apartment. After that, they'll go straight to Jada's condo. "Let's go?" Honey asked. She was so excited that she couldn't even get rid of the smile on her face.
Even if they still have two more subjects to attend, she can't help but imagine what it will be like later. She keeps talking about it in class.
Good thing there's not much going on in the last two subjects so they won't miss anything. Even if they're busy chatting.
After the last subject, Honey and Jada immediately left the classroom. They live in the same building. Honey was the first one to have a unit there, but she moved to the one next to Jada when she moved. The Cuevas family house is in Zaragoza. From there, it will take her an hour to reach SMU, even two hours if there's heavy traffic.
As she's well aware of how toxic traffic is in the city, she decided to ask her father for her own condo unit. She picked one near the university and, fortunately, her father agreed.
Jada doesn't often ask anything from her parents. If she could take the expenses from her allowance, she'd take it from there. But for expenses such as the condo, she'd ask them for help. "Ouch!"
A strong force hit her and she wasn't able to keep her balance. Jada's phone flew across the corridor as she toppled onto the floor.
"You shouldn't be texting while walking, you know?" an intimidating voice scolded her. The owner of the voice was bent down, picking up the phone from the floor.
Jada quickly stood up to confront whoever the culprit was that caused her to fall, but she wasn't able to do it when he faced her. It was Lyken.
He was frowning while handing over the lady's phone, brows shot up. Jada snatched it from him and rolled her eyes, holding her arm because she could still feel the pain from the fall.
"Careful next time," he even said before turning on his heel.
'Wait a second. Wasn't it him who bumped into me? I was the one who got hurt. Why does it seem like I was the one at fault? That jerk didn't even apologize!"
After Lyken left, she looked around for Honey. Jada saw her talking to Kobe near the stairs. It looks like they're already discussing tonight's outing.
Kobe smiled when he saw her, but she wasn't able to return it. Her arm still hurts because of the incident with Lyken.
When the man left, Honey and Jada went downstairs, heading for the parking lot. "He said they'd pick us up later," she informed her while they were walking.
"I have my car, we can just go to the venue on our own," lightly refusing the idea of the men going to her condo just to pick them up.
"Sis, isn't that sweet? Imagine, those hotties are coming to our place!" she exclaimed.
Jada just shrugged at her. She's really not interested in those kinds of men. She prefers studious guys. Not nerdy, but definitely not someone who attracts so much attention.
She's the jealous type and she admits that. Probably because she's an only child and she's used to having all the attention to herself.
An hour after they got home, Bambi and Ada arrived. They decided to meet in Jada's unit to prepare for the event.
It was only four in the afternoon when they started getting ready. Both pinks laid down their clothes on my couch, undecided about what to wear.
She rested for a bit before grabbing her towel and heading for the bathroom. As soon as she stepped out, Bambi blocked her way to the bedroom. "What are you going to wear, byotch?"Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Jeans, shirt, usual!" Jada answered casually.
She saw his facial expression change several times. He looked shocked, irritated, then disgusted. He even eyed her from head to toe.
"Wow Jada, why are you so boring?!" Bambi exclaimed, obviously irritated. "Get yourself out of your jeans and tees, and try something else before I burn all your clothes!" "Yeah, that's why you're being mistaken for a tomboy!" Ada seconded.
"Wear something girly this time. Look at Honey, she flaunts what she has!" Ada stated, pointing at Honey while eyeing her from head to toe. Again, Jada shrugged.
She went inside her room and opened her closet. Sitting on the bed, she stared at her clothes, trying to find something suitable to wear.
'Will these still fit me?'
Although she has "girly" outfits, she doesn't really find them comfortable, so Jada rarely wears them. Back in the US, she only wears dresses and such when they're going out and her crush is coming with them. Of course, she had to dress to impress. But here in the country, she doesn't think she's ever dressed up at all.

Jada let out a sigh when she finally decided what to wear. She picked a purple racerback paired with ripped shorts.
She grabbed her favorite sneakers from the rack and put them on. 'There! All set!' When she stepped out of my room, the pinks turned their heads to her.
"Damn byotch! Flaunt it!" Ada exclaimed, exaggeratedly, while clapping slowly.
Bambi circled her, "Those legs are winners!" he praised. "Come here, Jada! Let's enrich that beauty!" Bambi giggled as he pointed at the stool facing the mirror.
He grabbed the hairbrush and ran it thru the lady's hair several times before he tied it into a half ponytail. However, Jada was quick to dodge when he picked up his makeup brush. Crossing her arms over her chest, she quickly stood up and walked backward, "No, thanks!"
Ada laughed at her reaction, "Why? You don't want to look like a clown?" he asked, teasing our friend.
"Definitely not! I'm fine with face powder and lipgloss."
Jada rarely wears makeup because she doesn't find it comfortable. When she does, she feels like her face itches and she can't stop herself from scratching it.
When Bambi didn't force her, Jada headed back to her bedroom. Picking the hoop earrings she left on the dresser, she quickly put them on and took a good look at herself in the mirror. 'Not bad!'
Four minutes before the clock struck six, the doorbell of Jada's unit rang. She went ahead to open it while her friends were still busy with their final touches.
"Jada?" Kobe's forehead creased while eyeing her from head to toe.
She smiled at him awkwardly, "Hi, good eve! Come in!"
"Wow! Damn, you look different!" he exclaimed, raising both hands in praise.
"I don't look like a tomboy anymore?" she teased, and the lad's face immediately turned crimson before shaking his head.
Jada chose to ignore the embarrassment he displayed, to not put him in a tough spot. She even regretted teasing him about it.
"Hon! Kobe's here!" she called, though she knew Honey was aware of Kobe's arrival.

All three of them popped their heads out of Jada's room in unison. They're all trying their best to hide the excitement on their faces.
"You guys ready?" Kobe asked without taking his eyes off Jada's best friend.
Honey's wearing a peach, off-shoulder dress, paired with wedges in a darker shade of peach. Bambi curled her hair, leaving it down.
She's gorgeous and the appreciation's evident on Kobe's face. Honey was like a goddess who was about to go out and party.
When they nodded at Kobe, he gestured for the door and the three of them quickly followed. "You guys go ahead, I'll just check on something," Jada called after them.
Before leaving, it became her habit to check on the sliding door on the terrace to make sure it was locked. She would also check the appliances to make sure everything that needed to be unplugged was unplugged. When she went down, she saw a car parked right in front of their building. Peeking inside, she saw Kobe on the passenger side, Lyken in the driver's seat, and her friends sitting comfortably at the back.
Lyken's car is a blue metallic BMW Coupé, so if you were to look at it, it seems crowded. Behind his car is a silver Mazda with three guys onboard, probably their teammates.
"Let's go Ja!" Ada called excitedly.
"Where are we going?"
"Toledo!" Kobe answered.
"I'll just convoy, is that okay?" she asked while eyeing them one by one, weighing their reactions.
"Get in, I'll transfer to Steve's car," Kobe offered.
Jada raised her hand to stop him from opening the door of Lyken's car, "No, it's fine. I'll just take my car with me."
Jada doesn't want them to think that she's being picky or anything, but even if it's just the four of them in the car, it still looks crowded. It feels suffocating.
"Let her go if she doesn't want to ride with us," Lyken told Kobe, obviously irritated. Jada was even surprised that he spoke, all of a sudden.
"Okay, I'll just follow you guys," then she turned around to get to her car. It wasn't that far from where they were parked, so she easily got there.
Jada didn't wait for Lyken to say anything more or she might snap at him. He probably forgot that he still owed her an apology for bumping into her earlier.
She quickly turned the car's engine on and followed them. She doesn't want to act like someone important, but she also feels like she offended Lyken because of what she did. 'Then we're even!'
