Chapter 99
Bennett asked in a straightforward manner.
"Why? Weil, you can't know yet."
Trevor couldn't let Bennett know yet. He was afraid that Bennett would tell Jessica everything if he found out.
It would be too late for him if his wife ran away.
"Do you really like her?"
Bennett still couldn't believe it. How could his father love another woman so quickly? His mother just left not too long ago.
"Bennett, don't meddle in adult's businesses, okay?"
Trevor narrowed his eyes and left.
When Jessica came out, Trevor was not in the room anymore. She then took Bennett out to the shore to walk around.
Trevor had done a great job in confidentiality. Even though someone died in the day, there was still no news about it at night. Everyone else was just
gathering and doing what they were supposed to.
Some bigshot from the company rushed over, and even people from another company came over as well when they got the invitation since they showed respect to Trevor Gulliford from Horington. Jessica was wearing a gown, and she looked elegant in it. She may not have the same face she had before, the face of an heiress, but that elegance and aura of hers would never diminish. Trevor personally brought her to the venue with all smiles.
His elegant fingers were holding her hand, and he was now an elegant partner himself.
Jessica felt a little embarrassed, but it wouldn't be right to be reluctant at a party like this. She didn't care about it too much and just stood beside him, becoming his partner.
Trevor was standing on the stage, and Jessica was standing right beside him. After he had said a few words to commence the party, he turned and went down.
Everyone there was talking about Jessica, who was right beside him, but she remained emotionless even after hearing their conversations.
"That's her. She didn't look that pretty."
"Yeah. I heard she even killed someone. I don't understand why Mr. Gulliford would be with a murderer like her."
"Right? Maybe she's good in bed? Isn't he afraid that she would kill him in the middle of the night?"
"Well, the rich love some excitement."
There was much gossip among the crowd, and it was endless.
Jessica clasped her hands together, and she was thinking about something for quite a while.
"So, this is what everyone was saying about me? After all these
years, have become a net
once more. What a joke!" she thought.
"Don't listen to them, and don't think about them."
Trevor stood beside her and put his hand on her waist.
"I know. I know," she answered softly, but she still sounded anxious.
Her heart was thumping very quickly. How could she not think about it? How could she not hear about it?
Jessica could hearthe endless insults flowing to her ears.
A part of her had been triggered, and the depression that was suppressed came surging out.
By that time, they had already walked off the stage and away from the crowd.
However, Jessica went mad after that. She forcefully pried the

"I didn't kill anyone! I didn't!" She ran as she shouted until she had reached an empty area.
Jessica then hid under a coconut tree, curled her body, and hugged her head with her arms.
"I really didn't kill anyone..."
A tall figure appeared in front of her. He looked at the woman below him and let out a long sigh. He only felt
sorrow.
He was the one who made her this way. It was him who ruined Horington's number one socialite. "It's okay."
His voice was soft and gentle.
Jessica immediately reached out et
her hand and grabbed the edge of
themon's trousers.
"I didn't kill anyone, Mr. Gulliford. Please believe me!"
At this moment, Jessica had returned to her former self from years ago, from the day when Samantha died.
She was crying back then too, saying that she didn't kill anyone. However, no one believed her.
"Why? Why didn't anyone believe me?" she thought.
