Serenity and Zachary York

Chapter 2947

Chapter 2947

Caroline suddenly turned to look at Darren. She whispered to him, “Do you have someone you like, Mr.

Fletcher?”

Belinda had assigned Darren to be with Caroline earlier than scheduled and told her she could trust

Darren forever and that he would never betray her.

Even if she were to fail to become the next matriarch, Darren’s allegiance would never change.

After testing him several times, Caroline finally chose to trust Darren.

Darren was an all-rounder, as expected of an assistant trained to serve the matriarch or heir of the

Fishers.

He was competent.

Caroline thought, ‘Although the Fisher family has been getting weaker, the training base that their

predecessors built is remarkable. I wonder how the person in charge of the base manages to find so

many talented children to train them into capable assistants.’

The assistants even had beauty, brains, and brawn.

Although Darren could not compare to the young men of York, he was relatively handsome.

Caroline had been back with the Fisher family for two years but still did not know where the assistants’

training base was.

She asked her mom about it before. However, the response she got was that she did not need to know

its location. She simply needed to know that the assistants’ trainers were absolutely loyal to the

Fishers. They would always be neutral because they never interacted with others from the Fisher

family.

Their sole purpose was to train outstanding assistants for every matriarch.

Caroline had looked through every financial report of her family, but she could never obtain proof of

money being spent on the training base.

However, she knew the family would have a large amount of money going out of their account every

year. The usage of the money was not stated, and no one ever questioned it.

Caroline deduced that the money was used to fund the training base.

She had heard that the training base could self-sustain financially. Hence, the money sent over from

the Fisher family simply served as a reminder of the family’s existence.

If the training base had failed to receive the funds one day, it would indicate that something dire had

happened to the Fisher family's finances. When that happened, the training base would fund the family

to return it to its former glory.

In short, the money had double usage—the training base and a form of savings. If the Fishers got into

trouble, they would have money to tide them through the crisis and ensure the family’s survival.

Caroline had to give it to her predecessors.

Unfortunately, the descendants were getting worse. If her generation were unable to make the family

great again, it would probably fall out of the list of Jensburg’s noble families.

As someone who grew up outside of the family, Caroline did not have a sense of mission, let alone

Liberty.

However, both of them would do their best to manage the company if they were in charge. They would

ensure the family legacy continued.

Caroline’s eyes gleamed. Her words of complaint never escaped her mouth.

Her predecessors must have had a reason for setting that rule. Darren and the rest were mentally

prepared when they decided to be assistants.

However, forbidding them to fall in love was too cruel.

As expected, those who would achieve great things were mostly ruthless.

Caroline could never think of such a family rule.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Observing her silence, Darren kept quiet as well.
