Chapter 714
I knew that I had done a great job on that project, but there was no need for them to be so exaggerated.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
I thanked them multiple times to calm down the heightened atmosphere in the classroom.
After class, as I followed the crowd out, some of my fellow classmates came over to chat with me. They said they were my fans and they wished to learn from me in the future, making me feel a little embarrassed.
I had planned to go to Crystal House to paint in the afternoon. Colin was so busy that he only sent a text asking me to have lunch by myself. So, I decided not to go home for lunch and just grab something at the cafeteria.
As the weather turned colder, I felt a chill in my stomach after I ran to the cafeteria. So, I ordered a bowl of hot minestrone soup.
Just as I was about to eat after finding a relatively quiet spot, another person sat down across from me.
Looking up, I didn't expect to see Winston's sour face. He stared straight at me with a fierce gaze, making me put down my spoon.
I couldn't have a proper romantic relationship and couldn't even have a proper meal now. What did I do to deserve this?
"What do you want?" I was feeling a little irritated.
"I want to ask you something. Sorry about my attitude. Please don't take it personally. It's not directed at you," Winston explained, his expression and tone softening a little.
I picked up my spoon again to scoop up some vegetables before putting them in my mouth. Then, I asked him in a muffled voice as I chewed on the vegetables, "What is it?"
His expression darkened for a moment. I could see the frustration on his face. "What's your relationship with Zara Lowe?"
Zara?
He was asking me about Zara?
"Do you know her?" His question caught me off guard, making me lose my appetite. I had to ask him back.
"You don't have to know. I saw you chatting with her on the bus that day and wanted to ask you about her," he said.
I remembered texting with Zara on
е
the bus the other day, and he made some Sarcastic remarks at the time. Did he find out about Zara at that
time? ,
It was possible as I labeled Zara with her name in my contacts. I didn't use any nickname for her.
But still, it felt a little strange.
"Why do you want to ask about her?" I asked him cautiously.
Winston's face turned purple with anger at my question, but he couldn't do anything to me. After a while, he blurted out, "I just wanted to know her recent situation, nothing else."
This got me even more puzzled.
Why would a complete stranger who had never met Zara want to know about her recent situation? And he claimed that he had no other motives for doing so. S
"If you don't explain it to me, I won't tell you anything," I said as I crossed my arms, not backing down.
I had to be cautious when it was about my bestie who grew up with me.
"You have to tell me why you care about Zara's situation. And what do you want to do? Otherwise, I'll just keep quiet," I said firmly.
He got so angry that he just huffed and left since I was being uncooperative.
I couldn't help but find his sudden interest in Zara suspicious. I thought I should contact Zara.
But as soon as I took out my phone, Jade called.
It had been a while since we last chatted, so I was quite surprised.
As I talked to her, I continued with my meal.
"By the way, Jade, how is Zara? She liked Chris so much. Why did they break up?"
Jade lived very close to Zara, and their mothers were close friends. So, Jade knew about Zara's situation very well.
