Chapter 19: Children (1)
While Donna looking for Paul's mother, suddenly a familiar face appeared in her vision.
That was John Shepherd.
After just a year later, he looked so mature, which surprised her.
There was unspeakable sadness in his gentle eyes, which made her feel distressed.
As if he could feel her gaze, John also looked over there.
Donna trembled in her heart, grabbed Paul's arm, and said eagerly, "I don't feel well in my stomach.I'm going to the bathroom."
Before Paul replied, she left in a hurry.
As she hadn't expected to meet John so soon, she didn't know how to face him.
So she ran away subconsciously.
In the bathroom, looking at her panicked face in the mirror, Donna put her right hand on her heart and took a deep breath, "Calm down, calm down!"
After a long time, Donna saw Paul waiting outside with a lady of great temperament, and didn't see John around.
So, she took a long sigh of relief, walked out quickly, apologized in blush, "I'm sorry, Mom.I kept you waiting.’
Paul's mother had been worried ever since she knew Paul was married to a girl, so this time she came here in person.
While seeing the beautiful and polite Donna, she was relieved.
"It's okay.’ She took Donna's hand and said with a smile as she walked.
"I just heard Paul said that you were uncomfortable. How are you now? Are you feeling a little better?"
Donna blushed and nodded, "Thank you.I'm fine."
His mother was very kind and her voice was very gentle, which eased Donna's tension.
As they spoke, Donna became more and more natural.
At the airport, John came out of a convenience store with a glass of water and saw a familiar figure flashing past him.
He was Startled and hurried to catch up, "Donnie."
That girl looked back at him in surprise.
John let go of his hand and said awkwardly, "I'm sorry.I got to the wrong person."
A year later, he finally returned.
"Donnie, I'm back, where are you?"
A year ago, when he had just arrived abroad, he received a text message from Donnie, which said she was going to break up with him.
He then called her, but she had already blacklisted him.
Finally, he entrusted a friend in Jonesboro to go to her house and only found that there was no one there anymore.
She seemed to disappear from the surface of the earth.
Now that he was back, could he still find her? "John, you are here!"
Issac ran over and patted his shoulder heavily.
He grabbed his luggage and smiled, "Welcome the barrister to come back after studying abroad.''
John put away the complex emotions in his eyes and glanced at Issac with a smile, "A year later, you seem to have not changed much."
"Am I not getting more handsome?" Issac struck a pose.
He took John's luggage and said with a smile as he walked, "Are you going to buy stakes in Link Global Law Office? I recommend a partner to you, okay?" NôvelDrama.Org content.
John smiled and said, "You want me to be Rodriguez Group's legal counsel for free, right?"
"Do you need to mention this specifically?"
Issac rolled his eyes and said solemnly, "I'm talking about YOMA Group."
John blinked, "The YOMA Group created by Paul Martin?"
Issac nodded, "Paul and I are friends. If you become the legal counsel of YOMA Group, it's good for you to become famous in Jonesboro."
"I will consider it carefully.’ Replied by John.
Paul drove and his mother held Donna's hand in the back seat and chatted with her.
She was very satisfied with Donna, patted Donna's hand and smiled, "Don't worry.I know a lot of doctors abroad.I will ask them to come and do an expert consultation for your mother later.’
"Thank you.’ Donna's eyes turned red.
She often heard that the hostess of a wealthy family would embarrass her daughter-in-law, and she was psychologically prepared to be treated like that, but she had not expected his mother to treat her so well.
Paul drove the car without saying a word, smiling happily.
As soon as he got home, Paul's phone rang.
He took his mother's luggage out of the car and answered the phone, "Okay, I'll go back to the company right away."
"Just do your job."
His mother looked at Paul thoughtfully, "Donna can accompany me.’
Donna nodded quickly and assured Paul, "I will take good care of Mom.’
Paul smiled and said, "Okay, I'll be back tonight.’
After he left, Linda placed two cups of coffee in front of them.
Donna asked concernedly, "You just got off the plane, are you tired? Do you want to go to sleep?"
