Scars Of A Broken Bond

Chapter 1622

Sierra was livid at the cleaner's lack of astuteness.

After watching Sierra climb into the car, the cleaner touched her chest and quietly let out a breath of relief. Sierra's looks were far from being nice and gentle. She seemed displeased at the mention of her pregnancy. The cleaner pondered the cause behind Sierra's foul mood.

Inside the vehicle, Sierra instructed the chauffeur to head straight for Violetholt.

Soon after her arrest, Sierra got out on bail pending trial. This time, she was summoned to Mathias.

Resting against the chair's back, Sierra was engulfed in sadness. It felt like a massive hurdle had appeared in her life, leaving her clueless about her next move. Nothing seemed worth celebrating.

The news of her pregnancy, discovered at the police station, was something Sierra couldn't accept.

Thinking back to that night in the garage made Sierra feel ill, and she immediately thought of getting an abortion. Yet, she couldn't. She needed this child to negotiate her release, to lessen her sentence, and to be allowed to serve her time outside of prison... She had no choice but to have this child! Sierra tightened her grip.

Returning to the Fowler family, Sierra went to a party at a fair-weather friend's invitation. There, she overheard people describing her as heartless, ambitious, and without shame.

From that moment, whispers and glances from others made Sierra believe they were all gossiping about her. Whenever someone looked her way, she felt they were silently judging her.

Night after night, Sierra lay awake, fighting the urge to harm her unborn child with a knife. But her current dilemma was unchangeable. She was helpless since any misstep could lead to a harsher sentence. She was utterly trapped!

Time and again, Sierra's mind shifted to Sabrina. Sabrina would probably revel in her struggles once gaining knowledge of her miserable life.

When Sabrina returned, she found Tyrone and Jennie on the couch. While Tyrone was working with his laptop, Jennie was engrossed in a cartoon.

Caught off guard, she swapped her shoes for slippers and approached them. "How did you get in?"

"I know the password, Jennie replied, beaming.

"You've got the password?" Sabrina stopped and offered Jennie a faint smile.

"Yep. yep... Jennie's heart raced when she caught the look on Sabrina's face. She had given herself away!

"And why were you crouching by my door before?" Sabrina quirked an eyebrow and settled next to Jennie, her smile not quite reaching her eyes. Jennie seemed so pitiful at that moment. It turned out that she did it on purpose?

"Uh... Well... Jennie shifted awkwardly, trying to create some distance. "... I just didn't didn't remember the password last time..."

"Do you think I'm easily fooled?"

Realizing deception was futile, Jennie had no choice but hug Sabrina tightly. She made a face, batted her eyelashes, and said with feigned innocence, "Sabrina... I didn't mean any harm. I was scared you'd dislike me then..."

"So, playing the sympathy card, huh? Sabrina's smile faded.

"I admit my mistake." Jennie hastily lowered her head and snuggled closer into Sabrina's embrace. "I'm really sorry. I won't upset you again. I promise to be good..."

"You..." Sabrina cradled Jennie's chubby face in her gentle hands, finding it hard to stay upset. "I just can't stay mad at

you."

Tyrone's eyes brimmed with tenderness as he witnessed the interaction between the two. Here he was with the woman he desired, his daughter, and their expected new addition. The thought of their little family filled him with joy. If only there weren't people who wanted to separate them.

Thinking of Keilani soured Tyrone's mood. It seemed Lance didn't want Keilani to stay in Mathias. And Royce was keen on sending Keilani back to Philade. Stirring the pot might just work in his favor.

"Why did you come? Sabrina asked.

"I came to see you and Bun."

"Where were you earlier today? Tyrone raised his head to look at Sabrina before returning his gaze to his laptop.

"I visited the police station. Galilea has passed away, and that's the end of that chapter..." Sabrina noted Tyrone's attention on his laptop and raised her voice. "Hey there."

"What?" Tyrone looked up.

"Miss Clifford is already dead."

'I'm aware. It's been a week."

Sabrina was at a loss for words. "Don't you feel any sorrow? Don't you feel any loss? Considering you were with her for quite some time..."

"Do you expect me to be sorrowful and mourning?" Tyrone quirked an eyebrow, giving her a look.

Sabrina pressed her lips together and chose not to respond. Instead, she shifted her attention to Jennie.

Tyrone chuckled, got up, and took a seat next to Sabrina. "Would you like to hear what I really think?" "That's your call."

Tyrone leaned in and whispered, "Upon hearing of her demise, all I could do was exhale deeply."

"That's it?" Sabrina narrowed her eyes at him.

"And I thought it was a shame."

"A shame?"

Tyrone explained, "Yeah. A shame that her passing came so late. Had she left us sooner, I wouldn't have fallen for her deceit. Perhaps we could have found each other much earlier."

Back when Sabrina's father passed away and she found herself alone, Tyrone was involved with Galilea, who played a part in Sabrina's father's demise. Back then, Tyrone and Sabrina hadn't even met. Yet, reflecting on it now, Tyrone couldn't help but feel remorse. This likely represented a regret that would always weigh on his heart.

Sabrina gave a dismissive laugh. "Even if she wasn't in the picture, you wouldn't have taken a liking to me back then..."

"We can't revisit the past. How can you be so sure I wouldn't have liked you?

"Back then, your eyes were as indifferent as if you were staring at a log." In those days, Sabrina was filled with self- doubt and timidity, resembling nothing more than a log.

Tyrone lifted an eyebrow. "Sabrina, do you really remember such details from way back? It looks like you've paid quite a bit of attention to me, haven't you?"

Sabrina felt a sudden rush of nervousness. She averted her gaze, insisting, "It just crossed my mind. I wasn't keeping tabs on you."

Tyrone said softly, his voice close to her ear, "Sabrina, has it ever been pointed out that you seem guilty when you're not telling the truth? Have you been interested in me for a long while? just admit it. It's okay."

Feeling a tingle, as if zapped by electricity, Sabrina recoiled slightly and retorted, "You're so full of yourself."

Tyrone speculated further, "Is there a reason you no longer enjoy cupcakes? Did you once like them because I gave you one and stopped because you learned Miss Clifford also enjoyed them?"

Catching her breath, Sabrina responded with astonishment, Tyrone, have you lost your senses? Thinking I liked cupcakes just because you gave me one. You really think highly of yourself. Tastes change over time, just like how I don't enjoy lamb anymore."

Tyrone merely raised an eyebrow. "Perhaps." He didn't dwell on it.

Tyrone added, "I noticed your appointment. Ill accompany you to the hospital for the antenatal care tomorrow."Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

"Alright." Sabrina let out a hidden sigh of relief. She had no intention of keeping her pregnancy a secret from him.

But since he brought it up, Sabrina declared, "This child will be raised by us together. And the child will take my last name."

'As long as the child is mine."

Tyrone laughed.
